Thanks for your video. I'm interested in the grill on the left (I live in Europe, so it's the Ninja Foodi MAX Grill & Air Fryer [AG551EU]). Do you know if it works with liquids? (Can the fan be turned off so that it doesn't make a mess with liquids?) E.g. is it possible to make stew, goulash or bone broth in this grill? And what about making lasagna or casserole?
I got my ninja grill about a year ago, havent used my stove/oven since! Best purchase ever!! I have the older model. Soaking the grill in boiling water and dish soap makes it easier to clean
Thanks for the comparison -- was hoping that the new one was a little deeper so I could cook a larger chicken but guess not -- will just keep going with my gen 1 machine which I use a lot.
Appreciate you posting this! The original gen 1 review yall did caught my eye. Have been here ever since. Bought my gen1 on Amazon then discovered not long after that the newer one existed. Glad to know they a😊re the same product!
Wicked. I’ll have to check that out. Actually headed to MB twice in the new year, where is hamburger Joes ? I’ll take my boys there, big burger guys ! Marc
I love this grill and use it about 4 times a week. PROBLEM: I have not been able to get the grill completely clean even with the brush. Will the dishwasher get it clean? And how to clean the inside? 😫
@@TheAverageKitchen Also can't go wrong with not taking any risk by staying home but even that isn't a guarantee! Life if full of risk and rewards. Don't live life in fear but enjoy it to the fullest extent!
I bought the original grill a couple years ago. Mine came with a silicone cleaning brush. You can also order these brushes from ninja. Mine cleans up quite well with this brush. I agree if using a sponge or cloth, would probably not be great getting in between the slots. Anyway, just found your channel. Good stuff!
@@LifewithJennyintheUSA I do. Cleaning the lid is a royal pain. Mine looks dirty even though it isn’t. I looked at the new model and it looks like that has been improved. The trays and the grill plate clean up fine with the brushes. Sometimes I let it soak in hot water for 30 minutes if I don’t get it cleaned right away. It does a great job of cooking any meat you throw at it. Steaks to burgers. If I had to make a complaint it would be that it takes up a lot of real estate on the countertop. Beyond that, it is great.
I'm from Australia and the first time I've seen the option to how well you want your burgers was in a American style restaurant called Brooklyn Depot. First time seeing that option! I was like nope, I'll have the buger well done. (wth? No where else in Australia gives you that option.) I am not eating raw mince hahah.
I'm pretty sure the touchscreen on the older version was a huge pain, I know mine stopped working. The new version is almost the same, but back to buttons.
I’ve been noticing the European versions of these products have much higher watts, I assume due to 120v vs 220v outlets. I wonder if that actually translates to the Europe units being more powerful / faster.
Awesome review, thank you. Would have liked to see a medium rare steak cooked... I guess you can choose the lower setting if the probe is over cooking things.
DO NOT RELY ON THAT PROBE. I thought it was a cool feature, the only time I ever used it was when I was pan searing a steak on my stovetop and my meat thermometer was out by the grill. It wasn’t even relatively close. If there’s a fault with this machine it’s that probe, wrap it up and never take it off, pretend it’s not even there. Great appliance otherwise, I have abused the hell out of mine with the bare minimum maintenance, and she’s still kicking, an excellent $170 or whatever I bought it for.
REALLY ENJOY YOUR GUY'S VIDEOS, but i've watched others who use the probes, and they don't seem to have the problems you two have, when testing them. Any ideas why??? I'm just curious. Keep up the great videos.
@@aymanhawari2589 - thanks for that. I like the flatter shape of this grill appliance, which provides more cooking surface area. I bought the Ninja Foodi way back, and while I appreciate its volume, it doesn't have more surface area like a griddle. I just wish this Ninja Grill could also include a pressure cooker feature. Then I'd buy it for sure.
Just watched your comparison video and you made NO mention of whether either one had smoke coming out while cooking the burgers. Smoke was showing on your original view of the older model. Well….?? Did either smoke this time? 🤔

Hi John here bought. For Christmas gift for me and my wife ninja XL pro can't wait to try it
Let us know how you like it! - J
I thought that at least one of them can cook with the lid open, like a traditional griddle
That would be great, but no unfortunately they can't. - J
This was the best review! Thank you for being so thorough!
Thanks so much! - J
I got my ninja grill about a year ago, havent used my stove/oven since! Best purchase ever!! I have the older model. Soaking the grill in boiling water and dish soap makes it easier to clean

I love the way Canadians pronounce "out" and "about". Love Ninja products!
Thanks! 🇨🇦🇨🇦 - J
I Love your videos, Marc and Jamie!!! Your honesty and forthrightness comes through the screen! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for the ongoing support !! Marc
The grill preheat is longer because its also thoroughly heating up the grill plate. That part is important when using the grill function.
Makes sense! - J
Awesome review.Thank you for taking the time!
Thanks for watching! - J
Thanks for the comparison -- was hoping that the new one was a little deeper so I could cook a larger chicken but guess not -- will just keep going with my gen 1 machine which I use a lot.
They are basically the same. Marc
How big a chicken can you cook in it? Does it turn out well? I want one but can't find one in store and hate buying "blind." Love the review, though.

Very precise. Not much wasting time. Gets to the point
Thank you !! Marc
Hey! Great video! We've been loving your content. 🔥
Thanks very much for watching and the comment. Marc
We can put parchment paper in the air fryer basket to make it easier to clean?
That could work, depending on what you're cooking. Thanks for watching! - J
Aye man thanks for the shout out Myrtle beach is where I live and gotta check out hamburger joes if your ever down again
Wicked. I’ll have to check that out. Actually headed to MB twice in the new year, where is hamburger Joes ? I’ll take my boys there, big burger guys ! Marc
I looked it up. Off 17, I will 100% go there. What do you recommend?? Marc
2:15 are they made with some non-stick teflon or something else ?
Really not sure. Ninja could answer that.
Hey Myrtle Beach! That’s where I call home. I live at the Dye Course @ Barefoot, if you’ve ever been. Yes we like our burgers medium/medium rare.
Awesome !! Barefoot landing, know the area well. We always stay up in cherry grove area. Cheers. Marc
Did you guys have a comparison between all the grill/air crisp/fry combos coming out soon? Or which one you would recommend.
We haven't done that yet, have to try the new ones out. Look out for the reviews though! - J
Can you guys review the 2023 breville joule® oven air fryer pro vs the 2017 version of the sameone? thanks

Are these Models DG551 vs FG551?
DG551 for sure. We don't have the old one anymore, but I believe it is yes. - J

Is it possible that they have the ability to recalibrate the probes??

Thoughts on Dreo ChefMaker Combi Fryer ?
Not familiar with that one sorry. - J
It’s highly recommended by many cooking channels. I hope you can acquire one for a review soon.
So far these are what im leaning towards
1. Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer
2. Joule Instant Vortex Air Fryer Plus
3. Ninja Air Fryer
4. Cosori

does the new model have heating also underneath and the old one doesn’t?

Dry a** burger
Believe it or not people do eat somewhat uncooked burgers.
Depends on the restaurant

Yes we did.
Me from America never knowing that they make medium rare or medium well and have never been asked 😂😂 maybe its just that area 🤷🏽♀️
So how does your burger come out at a restaurant? Marc
You need to clean it while hot with a brush and then paper towel
