This video right here inspired me to finally try to fix myself my very first steak. Ribeye steak; a light brushing of avocado oil on one side (bottom), which I cooked for the first half; coarse kosher salt on both sides. Set the ninja at medium rare for a .65 lb size steak; 6 minutes total. flipped it halfway; Came out freakin' awesome. More pink than what James had on his steaks in this video, but it's the way I like it. One of the best steaks I've ever eaten and it was on my first try. Thank You, James. This gave me the courage to just go ahead and just do it, because you made it look so easy, and it was easy to fix.
Bought the grill today and haven't used it yet..I see you have loads of videos on here of cooking with it so thank you:) How do you clean your trays? And how often do you clean the top filter? ( I see it's detachable) Thank you.
It comes with a brush. Soak for a few minutes and wash it off. Filter just soak it. I only clean mine once a month unless I’m doing a lot of greasy stuff. It’s also dishwasher safe even though I don’t put it in dishwasher
Thanks for the video. I am looking to buy one. Do you still use it? Do you still enjoy it? And do you spend much time cleaning it? I am expecting to do a lot of steaks.. thanks!
@@CookinWithJames I bought one! and surprisingly got it last night. Unpacking and ready to try something. I have to admit, I am scare of setting up the smoke alarm! Some people said to use the air fry mode instead of the grilling mode to avoid smoking out. .Have you experience anything like that? Thanks!
now that you have a speedi vs this machine, which do you recommend for beef, steaks, beef roasts? going carnivore and want the best machine. what do you recommend now that you've used both?
Have you tried it with the temp probe ? I use it all the time works great takes the guess work out of it. Opps ok i found your other video using the probe. Thanks .
james thanks! literally just got the NINJA as a gift and wanted to know the best way to cook MEDIUM. The only caveat - my NINJA FG550 came with the thermometer and allows me to insert it into the meat while it cooks. QUESTION: I didn't see you use a cooking spray. Do I need? Do you recommend?

Does the Ninja have a keep warm function substitute? The heat of the pxlafg allows for a period of keep warm or reheat.
Yes it does. It’s way superior to the power xl grill

@@CookinWithJames Was planning to buy myself one for the first time. You taste a difference in normal baked meat with oil/butter or grill ?
It’s better on grill. Nice char
How would you go for medium rare?
Probably 3 minutes on each side
There is automatic setting that will make it medium rare for you.
