Awesome Video!!!!!! If I only knew that there was a feature that could of done that when i was taking my solidworks class! lol We had to use splinesto trace out the image. Thanks for the lesson!
huggles661 - the trick is to try and get really strong contrast between colours. This is why i selected a silhouette type image. You can also try and the shape selector to trim off any background colours, if the user defined eye drop is not as clear cut as the video example. If you look closely, the detail is ok not perfect. Especially on the mane of the horse.
Gabriel Davila Thanks for the reply, I was trying with a black silhouette but the result is a squarish 'Picasso' form of the original. I tried the shape selector but it was very time consuming so I didn't feel it was an option.
HI Gabriel, thanks for your video...i am still facing some trouble in autotrace in my soliworks 2015 edition it doesn't trace correctly and every time it it just selects move command when colour picker is chosen...can you help me ...i am very new to this

thanks . it really makes a big difference .autocad basically has no auto trace .so for me it is a great advantage .

What if the tool of color recognition doesn't work , and doesn't take the black color you are selecting ?
Use another software to increase the contrast. And than you use it on SolidWorks

The add-in is installed by default with all SolidWorks releases. Just go to Tools->Add-ins and select AutoTrace as per this video at 1:22.
Scale up your picture to at least 1 meter! maybe it helps
