As an around the house welder, I really appreciate it when you explain things like the diamond cut out and such. I learn a great deal by watching (and rewatching) and listening to you. It absolutely amazes me what you can do in your shop. You make the complex look simple.
I also find myself rewatching many clips
You are so right that he makes the complex look simple.

"Everything's done but the work" isn't that just how life works. 🤔
" It 's hot. Oww It's really hot " It's almost like Matt is there.
I was just going to ask if Paul has graduated from "Matt's School of Welding Assistants & Hot Part Handling." These two guys are more fun to watch than nearly anybody on RUclips. What an opportunity; practical education paired with all that free entertainment!! ;^)
It isn't bad if you aren't touching it, though! Hahaha.
Our old saying to “is it hot”?…. Nope just didn’t take long to look at it.
Man does this vid motivate me to go cut my neighbor's jeep in half.
😂
Wonder how much gets edited out? 🤔😆😆😆
I used to watch Monster Car Garage when it was on. You make those guys look like wimps. I am in awe of your craftsmanship and get it done work ethic. Thanks for the video.
That was an Epic show and deserved a lot more than it got, i really miss those days.
Awesome work Paul. Every time someone yells "Oww--that's hot!" I think "Did Matt show up?"
It is nice that you don’t edit out spots where you are struggling. I wouldn’t have known about the diamonds in the frame either. Those are the details that make the difference.
Round shape is better than "diamond". Fatigue cracks usually starts from any 90 deg corner.
These videos along with Matt's are perfect to watch and forget about all the BS going on. Keep doing what you're doing how you're doing it. Oh, and XL welding rat shirts please!
Electrical issues, I recently cut the nose of a 93 ZJ and from the axle back off of a boat trailer. ZJ meet boat trailer. ZJ trailer, meet XJ, your new camping buddy. XJ pulling a ZJ gets tons of looks. And the ZJ is the perfect amount of room for sleeping, removed all the seats, dash, and steering wheel, put a sink in the front left corner where the dash was and 2 propane ' burners about where the drivers seat was. Perfect little camper for me and my lady.
This is the best channel on lubetube for fab work keep up the hard work.
I agree. Check out “grind hard plumbing” those guys have some awesome fab work as well.
Thank you!!!
Sadly this channel has taught me more than collage did
You sir are a genius with fab work. I was wondering how you were gonna do the frame. I like how you explain everything
The man knows his metal! And he's not afraid to do it.
Paul seems to get a lot done when Matt's not around...lol
Because he isn’t redoing what Matt does 🤣🤣🤣
Papa Dar is really in for some fun off-roading with this modified Jeep. I really enjoy the process of you figuring this out as you go. Keep up the great videos.
My dad cut nearly a foot off the step-side of a Dodge Ram and put it on a Power Wagon frame. It was awesome looking after he painted it white. Short & Stocky & BADA$$. Paul, you remind me of him in the fact that you could build anything you set your mind to. Papa Dar's Jeep is gonna be a bada$$ too. By the way,...Papa Dar is suppose to be taking it easy. Looks like he might be over-doing it since he didn't take a nap this time. I'm shaking my forefinger at you Papa Dar!! ;-)
This is just Paul living up to the channels Name THE FABULOUS FAB RATS
I enjoy watching this and matt's towing if I lived over in the States you would be the type of people I would be friends with.
Papa Dar: I sure like the wheelbase on those new LJ's but they're so expensive!
Paul: *Hold my Mountian Dew*
“Did I cut a gas line?” Famous last words...
Don’t worry he wasn’t using the plasma cutter
Had a flame coming off the oxy/ acetylene gauges hmm run or close ? Stayed and shut them down . Couldn't stand the wait
Nice job on that frame reinforcement. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this build. Be really kool to see Papa's jeep and Matt's new rig out on the trail together.👍👍
Darwin's a brute. He always has something busted and he still wants to help.
Gotta admit I'm looking forward to seeing the finished build and seeing the Jeep on the trail. Always a good time watching you and the gang at your shop.
Hey Paul, for future reference when you need to remove sound deadening from a chassis. Use dry ice. You just crush it up and spread it over the sound muffling and use a folded up packing blanket to insulate it and direct the heat up and out of the work piece. Then you just chisel it up, EXACTLY LIKE peanut brittle
Absolutely love the channel!! I love seeing the ideas in your head become reality. Every project is always exciting to watch. Crazy to see you tear down things and have parts flying everywhere and make it so easy to just put a transmission or something back together.
Thanks for watching!
He makes it up as he goes and it just works.
"Did I cut a gas line?" Let me finish with this cutting wheel. 😆
That diamond reference was bang on..."I knew we would become one right away"...
I'm doing the same mods to my 1991 YJ. Can't get anything done because I'm addicted to the videos.
I love the positive can do attitude, finding a solution to every problem thrown at you and enjoying it. Always a great watch !
Did I cut the gas line? 🤷🏼♂️ Let’s throw some sparks!!!! 😂😂
Paul, This is Freaking Awesome! Its so simple to understand, makes me think I can do it...Now if I can learn to weld like you!
Once again great work with welder, so good to see your fabrication skills.
"Did I cut a gas line?" (continues to grind) lol
Having no teeth on the sawzall is a common occurrence whenever I’m trying to cut something nice and clean
I want this done to my TJ so bad...enjoying seeing what all goes into it...."Everything is done, but the work"
@@jontrudell7529 More stable going up ledges and down stuff...better rig all round
Buy a LJ
Whats this a milwaukee comercial!!! Good video again
didnt Matt patent that cliche', ouch that's hot?? LOL... @Paul, it's amazing how much work gets done, when Matt's not around to "assist" you... j/k...lol... great video Paul, cant wait to see more of Papa Dar's project come together... thank you... :)
This is an AWESOME project! Pappa Dar going to be cruising around in the baddest jeep on the planet after the surgery to it has been finished!
12 inch wood blade works really well for the deep thicker metal. It sounds crazy but really works
"Sounds crazy" is a very Honest evaluation. (You take a blade with itty bitty Teeth, and install it so it turns backward {If "memory Serves."} Does make a HECK of a racket, tho.)
Love it! Great work in there. It's nice to watch these projects especially when you know what you're doing! Papa Dar's jeep is going to be a cool yj.
You sure made that look easy! I am so impressed with all your skills. Nice to have a team support you.
May be doing the the same to my Suzuki samurai.
Always enjoyable to watch Paul work and he didn't lose his marker this time! Please keep the videos coming...
What is the gain in cutting it in half.....leg room for pappa dar to take more comfortable naps lol
How about longer wheelbase....
@@RetiredPilot longer wheel base for better naps. He’s always taking naps lol
@@stannelson2582 Yea he will be able to park it over a bigger rock when he gets tired.
Great video Paul.your shop is the envy of anyone that works on cars, trucks, etc. you make everything look easy. Always look forward to yours and Matt’s videos. Still catching up on older videos that. I haven’t seen yet. 🤙😎
Awesome job as always.... and at this rate Dar will be all healed up by the time you finish... 🤘🤩😁
Looking good brother 👍
Can't wait to see it out on the trails....
Another great vid, WHEW! I was hoping we would get to see the process of cutting the wrangler in half. I noticed in the background, that the job had already been done in the the tank repair video. The motivation to start my CJ7 rebuild came from watching your vids. It would be easier to do with a shop like yours with all the tools. I hope to bring the CJ down to your area of State when I get it finished. Maybe get stuck, (intentionally) in a very precarious situation, then call on the dynamic duo YOTA AND BANANA for a rescue. Ha Ha That would be an expensive T shirt.
I would buy an EYECROMETER or your other FABRAT ISMS' T shirt in a heart beat.
Where there's a will there's a weld.
Will here. 😉
You guys have way to much fun. Great job.
Really enjoy your videos! Thanks for good content.
What a crazy fun team of friends always makes the job easier 😂.
Thanks for sharing 👀
Awesome work Love the content keep up the good job !
Fascinating process, thx for posting.
Grandpa sherm could probably break your hand just saying hello if he's not careful. Work hardened strong. Whole gang seem like great folks
Another great video. I just can't believe the the stuff you do to that Jeep! I can hardly wait to see it running free in the dessert.
I love this channel!!! I makes me want to try it myself but I dont have the knowledge Paul has. Or all the tools, or ambition, or time, or hoist, or friends with any off this knowledge. I wish I lived half way between you guys and Matt.
I have been welding since I was in high school.i did custom exaust work for about 10 yrs.I've been around Jeeps my whole life, growing up and farmington new Mexico. And still learned something from this video.mahalo
Paul another great video keep em coming Paul
Break, weld, & repeat! Great video's !!
Great job. You sure make it look easy, but the many hours of actual work can’t hardly be displayed with a few snippets of video footage. Can’t wait to see the next segment.
Papa Dar's jeep is going to be bad ass!! Really fine fabrication Paul!!
Thanks guys!
Great job you're doing on the jeep!!!
Paul, What a Great job you're doing on the jeep, I was really wondering how you where going to weld the frame back together and stagger the joint welds like that was awesome...Another great video !! Thanks for the great video editing Michelle.. ..!!
Can’t wait for the next video. Great job Paul! 🤙🏼👍🏼🤙🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Man, that was some real cool stuff Paul!! Thank you!!👍
can't wait to see that jeep finished and buggin' deep !!
this is great wish i was there. thanks for letting us watch....
Awesome fabrication job again 😊call, never did the diamond trick that’s good to know ! You taught an old dog a new trick today, always good to get some new information that’s useful! I always just plated it ,put a grinder to it and then plated it 🙂
i use to have the same problem with metal sawall blades they (burn out) in a short time like a drill bit ,so when i try cutting oil on the blade much to my surprise it worked great blade cuts better and lasted alot longer ; they're not cheap to buy ! great video keep safe
Great Job!! I learned some new welding tips...YEA!!
Thank you for this one! 🙏
I have an ‘88 YJ I’m wanting to build up. Thinkn of stretching and you’re convincing me 👍.
Amazing! Watching your creations go from a not sure if you know what your doing attitude to winning at stuff most would never attempt!
Great channel. Love the fab work as well as the video production.
Wow. Pumped to see how this goes. Just subscribed to keep updated.
One of my pet peeves is when someone rides in my truck and leaves their trash in my doors. Or if my kids friends come over and leave trash in the couch. So the can left on the wall resonates man... I get it, lol. Thanks for the video to watch on a Sunday afternoon!
Love the build keep em coming!!!!
you guys are great make it look so easy
Enjoyed the video. Southern Utah looks like a great place. Looking at your videos Matt’s and Casey’s.
Enjoy the build series. Keepem up.
You are an artist and a craftsman.
Reminds me of when we did the opposite to a VW Rabbit 25 years ago. We took 22" out of the middle and welded it back together. Basically moved the rear seat up to the shifter so then done we drove it from the back seat. Great fun.
Well I have seen everything now. What a job. I'm glad it's family as the bill would be very high. I can't wait to see the next upload on this project.
If you can't afford an LJ, build one!
If you take super light cuts with a sharp tool you can slim down washers on a faceplate on the lathe. Super glue it on there and go to town. Small cuts to avoid a lot of heat. OR just make a new washer from scratch on the lathe.
Can't wait to see the body work and finished product. Long dreamt of doing something similar with my old YJ before I got rid of it.
Can’t wait for next part .
Looking good, now to find the next episode.
Thanks Bro as welder im learn some lesson
This JEEP is woderful rebuild of a expert mind and hands than
I will see this will rock on roads and duns tanks
Cobus
From South Africa
Good stuff man... metal magic.... great tools great skill hard work teaching those wanting to know... thank you greatly !
"I smell gas." "OK, let's make lots of sparks."
Cool stuff! We did this on the farm trucks too. We shortened an ol Volvo car and put left and right brakes on it! That car was way to fun to drive!
That's some good work right there. 👍🏼
Man that’s gonna look sweet! Well I have more of a mystery problem now I fixed my suspension replaced a bunch of parts but now in 4 wheel drive I have this clunking so I don’t know if it’s the driveshaft or the diff or transfer case or what but I can make it there in 2 wheel drive during some decent weather and my daughter and I are still looking forward to the possibility. Keep up the good videos can’t wait to see this beat done!
You do some great work bud.take it there's not a lot of jeep scrambles around there. But hay Great videos my guy.
Awesome job. Enjoy watching your videos. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
**WHAT A WONDERFUL FAB/RAT!!!**
Every time I watch your stuff I learn something, Your one clever person, Umm can we have another Guess that part haha..
All you lack is finishing up! 😉 You are a master fabricator, Paul; that's gonna be one sweet Y/LJ when your done! 😎
There's that fire shirt again, I think there's a story there.
