    They're also SUPER close to Cairo, like. Not out in the middle of a random desert. They're also part of a larger necropolis, with other structures all around it.

      +CJ May Technically they're in Cairo, within a circle of desert a few square miles in size that is completely surrounded by the city. There are a few other small ruins surrounding the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx showing that there was some kind of large temple structure covering most of the nearby area, but not much of it is left.

      Is this Word written for no reason? "Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure. Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of Yahweh Tsvaoth. You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you."
      May all of you be blessed in the truth... those who have not chosen to make a covenant with death and believe that lies will conceal you. Truth is no illusion. It is worth living, suffering and dying for.

      learn to archeology. The bible is supported by more historical evidence than any other document in antiquity by every single conceivable metric that archeologists use to judge the validity of ancient texts.
      Look it up. It's kinda hilarious actually.

    • @MrFraknak
      @MrFraknak 7 лет назад +1

      David Umstattd Actually no it's not. Almost all of the "archaeological evidence" is inferred to be what the bible meant. There is almost nothing that is directly linked to the bible. Sure there might be a lot of "we think this was" stuff out there but nothing that can actually be proven to have been an actual biblical event. An example would be the exodus out of egypt. There is no proof. We have scholars who theorize that it might have been the hyksos that may have been the ones the bible mentioned but again they don't really agree with that. "Ramses" is never mentioned in the Bible as the pharaoh who expelled them, that person is only ever mentioned as "Pharaoh". Yea so if you mean there is a lot of supposed and possible evidence then you're right, but no actual objective evidence that directly linked to any historical tales in the bible.

    • @MrFraknak
      @MrFraknak 7 лет назад

      Do you know if pyramids actually helped with trade (as it said in the video)? Did they just impress people?
      Or does the average Egyptian not actually know very much Egyptian history (I have no clue how First Nations tribes in my country Canada did trade thousands of years ago. Don't know why I think you'll be able to answer my question)?

    • @MRawash
      @MRawash 8 лет назад

      some person The Pyramids prime purpose was indeed to impress, they are vanity projects just like most mega projects in the ancient world (and to a degree, the modern world too), but they did help build Egypt as a side-effect, and not exactly because of trade either...
      Building the Pyramids unified Egypt, as people from allover Upper and Lower Egypt worked together towards a common goal, in a way they demonstrated the power of a united Egypt to itself and to the whole ancient world. We take the concept of "nation states" for granted now, but back then, Egypt was incredibly unique, the concept of a country with geographic borders and a centralized government was unprecedented. Egypt's Old Kingdom is the one that started it all, for Egypt and everyone else on Earth. That would also explain why Pyramids got smaller as time went by, as Egypt became more and more decentralized by the Middle and New Kingdoms, Pharaohs lost direct control on the people, as local governments grew more essential to the governing of Egypt.
      As for you not knowing how "First Nations tribes in Canada" did trade, that actually makes perfect sense! Writing wasn't introduced to Canada until new world settlers got there, it's the same reason we also don't exactly know what England's Stonehenge was for. Without writing you don't have anything to go by, but modern scientific research, and, in some rare cases, folk tales, which absolutely get distorted by time passage, unlike the written word.
      The Egyptians actually wrote their history in stone and on paper, and that is how we know so much about Egypt's history, and not nearly as much about the rest of the ancient world, save for Mesopotamia, and much later the Greeks and Chinese.

      Acually only the South american pyramids had burial remains. In the large Egyptian pyramids there has never been even a single mummy found by any arcehologist. Some rich people though in ancient egypt built smaller like few meter high pyramid shaped strtuctures and they used them for burials, but thats it. The fact is that in the 70s there were discoveries of several new pyramids, that were previously undisrupted (nothing stolen, probably never opened) and still no mummies anywhere. Weird right?š

      Is it a regional thing? Or does scale fit into it as well? Like, sheer size, or the overall area of the base vs. height, or the depth of the horizontal plateau between each incline?
      When I wrote the comment I actually had structures like that in mind. I took a few art history classes and early architecture courses back in college, but my profs used "step pyramid" and "ziggurat" interchangeably--though we didn't talk about South American societies. It's been a while since, so I can't say my memory is infallible.

The sarcophagus is slightly larger than the Ascending Passage, which indicates that it must have been placed in the Chamber before the roof was put in place. Unlike the fine masonry of the walls of the Chamber, the sarcophagus is roughly finished, with saw marks visible in several places. This is in contrast with the finely finished and decorated sarcophagi found in other pyramids of the same period. Petrie suggested that such a sarcophagus was intended but was lost in the river on the way north from Aswan and a hurriedly made replacement was used instead."

      I'm not sure anyone knows exactly when Judaism started - there's a counting system for the years, but it could've started a bit into jewish history, and or they could've assumed the earth had been around for 500 years and started there, etc.
      I'm not religious, but there is a possibility some things happened. (There was red mud along the Nile that could've made the water red and undrinkable, a volcano could've made it dark, etc.)
      Do you have a source for when the last pyramid was built, and another for when Judaism started?

    • @LittleHatori
      @LittleHatori 8 лет назад +1

      there was slaves in Egypt. Egypt did enslave the Jewish people. I'm assuming you have a little mix up bc ur not that familiar with the Truth written in the Bible.
      I wish to help u bc it is a grand account.
      Egypt did exist years and years before the Moses & the prophets.
      the whole reason the Jews were even in egypt is bc Joseph- was sold as a slave to the Egyptians by slave traders. many years later Joseph is made second in command of all of Egypt because of his ability to interpret dreams and being wiser then the sorcerers. The Lord has a huge drought come in the land of Joseph's family & they all come to Egypt in order to live. Egypt had abundant food stored and the Jews (Joseph's family & kin) stayed there for many generations. the King of Egypt treated Joseph's kin well and then later died. Joseph also died and the Jews forgot to acknowledge the Lord. so the future generations of the Jews were put in bandage & oppressed. the King of Egypt who decreed oppression of the Jews bc their population was frighteningly growing. He didn't want the Jews to take advantage of the kingdom or ally with their enemies.
      Hope u get the story. all that to say is, the 1000 yrs doesn't add any merit bc the Jewish nation wasn't even a people yet ANYWAY. so "Judaism" didn't exist. But the timeline still works bc the Jews didn't leave egypt yet. they were still Israelites- actually - Hebrews.
      so yea. the fact remains, the Ancestors of the Jews were in egypt. we r in bondage & did build cities. I do if they built pyramids. But in know they built the city Ramses for sure as said in the Bible.

      +MaTtHeW00369 Actually, the assumption isn't that the population of the world is "as ignorant" as the title guy, but rather that the population is "more ignorant" than the title guy. To take it a notch further, they are assuming the audience of this particular video is more ignorant than them, not the entire population of the world. Considering the economic and politic conditions of 3rd world countries, the latter would not be an entirely unjustified claim to make. Also, this is merely a clickbait title. Late night bong hits, watching weird shit on RUclips when the thought occurs:
    "THEY" say Easter Island, Nazca, Ollantaytambo, Paratoari, Tassili n'Ajjer and Giza are all aligned on a single great circle. Additional ancient sites that are located within one tenth of one degree of this great circle include Petra; Perseopolis; Khajuraho; Pyay, Sukothai and Anatom Island. Machupicchu and Cuzco are within one quarter of a degree. The Oracle at Siwa in the western Egyptian desert is within one quarter of a degree. In the Indus Valley, Mohenjo Daro and Ganweriwala are within one quarter of a degree. The ancient Sumerian city of Ur and Angkor temples in Cambodia and Thailand are within one degree of the great circle. The Angkor temple at Preah Vihear is within one quarter of a degree. This circle crosses over the source and the mouth of the Amazon, the dividing line between upper and lower Egypt, the mouth of the Tigris-Euphrates, the Indus River and the Bay of Bengal near the mouth of the Ganges. The circle also crosses over a number of areas of the world that are largely unexplored, including the Sahara Desert, the Brazilian Rainforest, the highlands of New Guinea, and underwater areas of the North Atlantic Ocean, the South Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea.
    WHAT IF this "Great Circle" is the old equator?
    The world is covered w/ hundreds of flood legends/myths and many cultures all over the world have strikingly similar "gods" described as winged/feathered or "flaming" serpents. The Egyptians had their god snake Kneph, the Phoenicians had Agathodaimonin, the cultures of Central America worshiped Quetzalcoatl, the winged serpent, as Baholinkonga, the feathered serpent of the Hopi Indians. Even the bible has a serpent.
    WHAT IF all these flood myths have a common source? What if all these serpent gods have a common source?
    Suppose: A giant comet - the "feathered serpent" - smashed into the earth, setting off the Younger Dryas cold period and the last ice age. Mass extinctions, huge tsunamis and FLOODS - the whole plant knocked off it's axis. "THEY" also say a genetic "bottleneck" happened w/ humans around this period - possibly fewer than 20,000 people were left on the ENTIRE planet.
    Something THAT fucked up happens - not too many people will remember how to keep the lights on. We end up having to learn EVERYTHING all over again - from fire to the wheel and so on - with no memory of our former selves. Nothing but a few scattered ruins...

    I think I remember reading in college that Egypt used farm laborers during the off-season to build the pyramids. So basically their schedule was "farm, harvest, holiday, pyramids, holiday, farm" repeating. It was a way for farmers to earn wages and have something to do. Egypt was pretty rad.

    • @craig0taylor
      @craig0taylor 8 лет назад

      +Craig Taylor Oh also, fun fact. people didn't starve in Egypt like they did in other early civilizations. Even the poorest of the poor could live off of the papyrus that grew along the banks of the Nile. idk... im a nerdy history major.

      +theScytheofGod this also happened with the piramids in Mexico and Perú. but in these cases archeologists assigned the piramids to who they thought were the "first" civilization there, but there are records where the settles said the piramids were there when they arrived...

    Yeah this video is so inaccurate. Just a few...they were not graves, they're older than the old kingdom and the Nile use to flow right past it. A quick research of Nicola Tesla and John Anthony West is enough to debunk this. Other than that I love most of your videos.

    ACTUALLY, the pyramids were built as landing platforms for space ships from a parasitic alien race that used primitive humans as hosts and posed as their Gods.

      You do realize most school still use old facts, and a lot of school don't even teach stuff about the pyramids. Also do you have any idea how many movies, series, animated shows, that take place during the pyramids building process/end and still get it wrong. I don't think I have ever seen what a pyramid is supposed to look like new in any period movie. This video is for those people, I for one knew most of these facts already because I was into this stuff for awhile, but A LOT of people get this shit wrong all the time.

    Lol at people saying "Americans are stupid". You are basing your assumption on a Cracked video. When has Cracked ever had a video or article that wasn't already known? Just because they use a smug title like "7 ways you're stupid about something", does not mean we are stupid. It means Cracked writers will do anything for views. Even writing about shit that is common knowledge. I am American and learned all this shit in grade school. I think the real idiots are the ones who think Cracked represents the educational system...
