I had one of these in a car around 10 years ago. Still have it somewhere. It actually gave a nice kick. Nothing outlandish thats going to rival a 12 inch sub box but it definetly complimented a decent sound system without overpowering it. I would buy again.

It's supposedly an actual "almost" 12 inch woofer. Yours sounds great though. You must have a good mic. I hope I like the one I purchased, and I did look at the Pioneer as well. Take care. Thumbs up!
It was well worth it to me, really filled in the sound. BUT, if rap if your main genre, this might not be the sub for you. Its not weak, but its not a heavy hitting shake your car kinda sub.
Yes the controls are for the gain, or output level of the sub, and what frequency it cuts off at . for example if you set it to 100Hz, only frequencies of 100Hz or lower till be output by the sub.

@Viorel Rotaru Hello, today i’am got my sub and yes it works without the remote control. And you can change the frequency range on your radio to adjust the sound.
Hi John, looking in depth to the specs of the device, it seems that it's using 2x 100mm subwoofer rather than a larger one. Any comment on the quality of the output ? does it compare well against a under seat subwoofer ? Clear, muddy, warm, soft, etc ? I was looking at the JVC CW-DRA8. Thanks.

You can probably still use it even without a spare tire as long as you have a space where a spare tire would go. See if there is a threaded hole in the center of your trunk for a spare tire. This should tie in nicely.
On some brands of these spare tire subs (JBL & Cerwin Vega) when using the high (speaker) level inputs, the amp in the sub senses the signal and turns on automatically without having to run the blue turn-on wire all the way up to the head unit.
Can't really hear it on video. Would you say it was worth the 300, because I am also looking into this sub for rnb/hip hop type of music? I for sure don't want any rattles in the trunk though.
I had a Rocksford Fosgate P300 10 inch sub and it hit hard, was perfect for my bose system, always thought the bose system lost the bass at high to full power but the 10 added the bass right back and it sounded amazing for me, and it was less than 300 plus installation, take up a bit of room but not alot. Also the Pioneer shallow mount subs bang also, cost a bit more cause an amp will be required but positive is it takes up even less room and is a bit louder, or there's a preamp pioneer sub that I really wish i could've put in my car, that is a lot of bang for buck
