I started planning in Franklin Covey and used to love visiting their stores in San Diego over 30 years ago. Have not used their planners for a while now but have fond memories of their planning tools. I still use some of their core planning principles to this day! Great video.
I remember the stores!!!! I was young and needed every dollar of my paycheck but I used to window shop and wish I could afford their gorgeous bags and planers!!! 😍
I started in the Franklin Covey system in the very early 1990’s (it was called Franklin Quest back then). They opened an actual Franklin Store in the San Francisco financial district and a couple other locations in the Bay Area around that time. I was in the store every payday 😂. Been off and on the FC inserts over the years and recently, was totally inspired by your inserts that I also created my own. Thanks for doing these videos. I very much look forward to them! 👏👏👏
Awe- thanks for watching!! I just commented on another message- that I remember the stores!!!! I was young and needed every dollar of my paycheck but I used to window shop and wish I could afford their gorgeous bags and planners!
I started with Franklin Covey in 1994. We actually took the training course at work. I’ve taken it 2 other times since. And though I feel it’s the best system, in retirement I’ve been floundering trying to find the best planner for me. I don’t decorate. Erin Condren isn’t doing it; Inkwell; Happy Planner, etc. didn’t do it for me. The FC daily planners are a bit too much for me, but I do like ring or disc bound systems because I can hole punch things and add “stuff” into my planner. Well long story longer, you sold me. I ordered a new classic binder, 5 choices ringbound, storage sleeve/binder, etc. BTW, there are lots of 15% off discounts on their site. I didn’t know about that 5 choices option and I think I’ll love it. Also, think of using the index page at the front of each month sort of like a bullet journal. Annotate dates in that index and note conversations, etc. that are important for that date in the index. So you won’t have to hunt through each page in the month to find certain info. You can go right to it. Covey teaches this in their training. I still use their methods and adapt it to the planners I use. Invaluable stuff. Thx again!
Hi There! Thanks for watching. I have been using it for about the same time in 1993/1994. I remember the courses. My financial firm sent me to one. I loved the entire concept and it worked when I had that financial job. Now, I dont need that level of planning anymore. YAY! I hope you love the 5choices like I do. it is such a wonderful layout and system! I dont utilize the index on this planner but on my EDC I do. It is super important for me to track important dates and info there for me to quickly reference when needed. Have a great day!!
You created these inserts? Very cool idea! Filoplanner does make some really perfect page spreads. Her tiny writing with the fountain pen is so flawless. I'm trying to make my planners neater but it's been such a long process lol. In the meantime I love decorating, keeps the inspiration up!
My compact inserts were inspired by the love of this Franklin Covery 5 choices Classic size planner. I adore Filoplanner, but I just couldn't write that neat. 😂. when I was a kid and had to take notes at school, one mistake on my page, and I would toss it and start over. It has taken a lot of meds to manage my OCD to keep me from doing that as an an adult. 😉 Thanks so much for watching!!! ♥️
My work planner this year is the Franklin A5 Organizer. It’s a Japan exclusive that’s a Tomoe River paper daily planner and I’m really liking it. I’m not using it in 2025 as I launched my planners and am also trying planners from some other small shops. But it’s been a great planner. I might need to pick up and try one of these too for fun! Love it 💗
I have seen so many planner people order things via amazon.japan. Is that where you get your A5? I need to look into that and see. I recently saw a gorgeous planner and asked the instagram account (used Google translate. 😂) and she said it was FC Japan planner cover. I love the 5 choices for work. if you do get it, Shiv- l would love to see your review video!!! 🤩
I am 99% sure I’ll be buying this planner next year in the July start. I have young kids in school so academic year planners just work better for me. I agree with you: this weekly layout is PERFECTION. Love all the list space. I just wish the monthlies were lined. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for the generosity of providing the dated inserts as freebies.
You are very welcome. ♥️
