      Exactly. But again Floyd was the one questioning why Pacquiao stopped knocking out people since 2009 pointing towards PED use! It's because you can't knock out people going up in weightclass. Pretty boy Floyd was knocking out people in lower weight class, same with the Pacquiao.

At the end of the day you have a choice watch the fight don't watch the fight but do not destroy a master while he's making a masterpiece because you do not approve of The Strokes he uses to paint his picture.

      @john50beach18 7 лет назад +21

      +Dashiki Jones The young Ali would never have allowed himself to get hit that much. It's not that he chose to get hit, but these dudes were heavyweight boxers out of their primes in a really hot ring and it was a 15 round fight. Ali's biggest flaw was he still relied on his speed into old age, whereas mayweather adjusted as he lost it

    @pwade1985 7 лет назад +19

    Ali may have been more entertaining, but the man couldn't talk and could barely walk during the rest of his adult life as a result of taking so much punishment. Floyd doesn't run. He will lean against the ropes and make his opponent miss. He ducks and dodges the opponents punch and counters wile staying in the pocket. He is both best defensive and best counter puncher. Only idiots take punishment for "likes".

  • @Les_05
    @Les_05 7 лет назад +128

    So oscar is saying it's good for boxing to get hit in the head repeatedly... then get brain damaged later. It's not good to protect yourself at all times. Boxing is hit and not get hit. Like stop this nonsense.

    • @vincegonzalez6804
      @vincegonzalez6804 7 лет назад +6

      LTG no he's saying that boxing is a show. It's supposed to be entertaining. I personally like seeing defense but the thing about how Floyd fights now is that they lack offense. Other than that, he's great.

    • @Les_05
      @Les_05 7 лет назад +8

      Vince Gonzalez here's the thing, if you watch Floyd when he was pretty boy Floyd, he took more risk and displayed more offense in the past watch him vs Diego Corales or Floyd vs chop chop Corley. But now he's getting older and his body is breaking down especially his hands. Floyd has a bad history of his hands that's why he only uses grant gloves because it provides enough padding in the gloves for his hands. So that's why you don't see drop people like he use to. But once your body breaks you gotta be more smarter on how you fight in the ring but a lot of people don't understand that (not saying you). You see people like Ali and etc had bad health problems (no disrespect to them) because they continue to take beatings to impress the crowds. It's not good for the body.

    • @willmills6378
      @willmills6378 7 лет назад +4

      Vince Gonzalez ,I emplore you to look up punch stats. Simply view the totals of throw and connects of him (Floyd) v/s any opponent. Educate yourself, don't continue to be an uninformed idiot.

      @lockardthegoat5157 7 лет назад +1

      True. People act like Floyd's career started in the last 8 or so years.
      He was knocking people out at his natural weight & called out plenty of boxers(who avoided him), and only started accepting his challenges when he became a cash cow.

  • @DansTele88
    @DansTele88 7 лет назад +82

    I'm not the biggest Floyd fan, in fact i prefer Conor's character, But as a fan of boxing, no way does floyd run all the time, in fact he won the centre of the ring and was more of the aggressor in the Canelo fight (Just watch it) and Canelo is a massive hitter, Floyd won the centre for sure.

    • @patyramirez7202
      @patyramirez7202 7 лет назад

      I agree with your point I'm not trying to be condescending but hypothetically if floyd fought canelo at this stage in canelos career and floyd in his prime could floyd beat him? Honestly.

    • @DansTele88
      @DansTele88 7 лет назад +1

      Vegeta Sama I honestly don't know, that's a tough one. I mean my money is on Canelo to out-class Golovkin in September, but Mayweather love him or hate him is one of the best boxers I've ever seen.

    • @James_Edward59
      @James_Edward59 7 лет назад

      Danny McDonnell thank you finally someone who knows the difference between dodging punches and running I have never seen Floyd run from someone the way Mcgregor ran from Diaz.

    • @DansTele88
      @DansTele88 7 лет назад

      TactiCali Industries Yeah in the first fight with Diaz he knew he was losing the stand-up game and was shook, so went for the take down where Diaz just Boa-Constricted him, the second fight was one of the best UFC fights I've ever seen, and Conor lit Diaz up but was a close fight but Conor definitely redeemed himself and took the win for sure for me, but Floyd is stylistically the best boxer of all time (for sure).

    • @blackmamba54321
      @blackmamba54321 7 лет назад +1

      Vegeta Sama my money would still be on Floyd. Before his strict defense, the dude was an offensive force to be reckoned with. Obviously it'd be in different weight classes but Floyd would be too quick for canelo, I mean, he's quick as of right now and when they fought. Subtract 10 years? Yeah it would be the same story. Just my opinion.

    • @4096g
      @4096g 7 лет назад

      Tyler Hingleton I disagree with you bro, that's not the fight i saw. Floyd barely was letting his hands go - remember his own father said "why you fighting like you scared"?! You know most people have no clue that Floyd himself selected those judges. As for the punch stats most observers don't even agree. They even have youtube videos on the true punch stats. Compu box is just two men pushing a button. Floyd Mayweather NEVER beat Pacquiao. Even some hardcore Flomo's i know say the fight was not the way the judges and compubox had it. One Flomo even admitted it was given to Floyd. Its supposed to be Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 not Mayweather vs Conor. Floyd is afraid of Manny Pacquiao. You, i, and every body knows this bro. I'm black but i keep it💯. And about Floyd being bettet than Ali technically, why because his record say's 49-0? Ali fought the best of his time - most in their prime. No usada, no picking referees, no picking judges and all the other nonsense associated with a Mayweather fight. Floyd shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Ali. If you wanna mention Floyd with Whittaker, Trinidad, Mosley and Pryor that fine. Sugar Ray Robinson and Ali were The Best Ever!

      A sport that you're not getting hit? Who told you that lie? Running shoulder mayweather? Cool, then what you're saying is, if everyone fought like Mayweather, the boxing world would be a better place....LMAO! It would like the 3 stooges version of boxing....two guys just running around the ring....the best offense being defense...against each other...just running around waiting for the other guy to throw the first punch.....and they could do some shadow boxing in between....to keep fans interested...even with all the past their prime fighters mayweather fought, they still were more entertaining than mayweather, they brought the fight...he brought his shoulder and running legs....without those boxers bringing the fight...it would have been a staring contest.

    To be honest I used to feel like Oscar did when I was younger, but as I've grown up I realize that defense is a part of boxing just as much as offense. Floyd is a master of defense and speed and uses it to his advantage. May not be the most fun to see but you can't really rip him for it. You wanna win the match, then figure out how to catch him.

    With the heavyweight class being revitalized, by the likes of Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder, and the top ranked boxers in the different weight classes actually fighting each other is their prime, Boxing is in a very good place right now.
    But let's be clear here, Floyd Mayweather Jr. might be one of the greatest ever, no one can simply deny the fact that he actually almost completely killed this amazing sport. I'm not talking just about the money, but the way he has been selecting his fights. Dodging and avoiding other top ranked boxers for more than a decade, and just waiting for them to get old.
    He made this process the norme and emerging boxers started doing the same, to the point where a year could pass by without a big fight. And I'm talking about big money and fame fights, not over-average boxers in 10 rounds bouts.
    I will remember some of Mayweather's fights, but the reset of it, I've already forgot. He was boring to watch, and turned highly anticipated fights into dancing contest.
    I will most definitely not miss Floyd, and I'm so happy boxing is getting back to the high spot, slowly but surely.

      Vaital V Dude don't you know? Floyd is the only boxer in history who was supposed to fight EVERY top prospect and champion in his era regardless of their weight class. It didn't matter if they had a belt or weren't ranked, coming off horrible losses, or were with a promotion or network that wouldn't let them fight Floyd. He should have fought at least 100 fights and went up 2 more divisions. He shoulda fought Bernard, Roy, Calzaghe, Vernon Forest, Trinidad, Winky, James Toney, Andre Ward, Kovalev, ggg and Canelo again because Canelo was too young. And he shoulda fought Thurman instead of Pacquiao because that was really the fight people wanted. And since hes TBE he should've done like Roy and went up to heavyweight and fought Joshua. Doesn't matter though. ggg and lomachenko are the best anyways

      Lockard The GOAT Floyd has 49 victories and 0 losses. He's made over 700 million in his career and still has his health at the age of 40. Floyd was more offensive in his younger years, under the name Pretty Boy but with age he's become more defensive due to his hands. People like you don't take Floyds age into consideration when discussing his most recent fights...if you want a proper comparison...go watch Floyd box in his 20s

    Oscar is right about the business aspect but he's wrong about the running/dancing aspect. It's not as good for the fans for fighters to focus solely on the business aspect. That encourages them to not take the fights we'd like to see at the times we'd like to see them. But he's horribly wrong for knocking Floyd for mastering the actual "ART" of boxing (to hit and not get hit). If nothing else, look at the number of people who gravitate towards every fighter Floyd faces in hopes that they can "catch" him. Love him or hate him, people still tune in.

    GGG v Canelo is THE fight. An unreal fight that boxing has been waiting for an age. What a fight. I am looking forward to both fights, i would not pay for Mayweather but i would for GGG Canelo.
