They will trade for C tier reliever to "bolster" the bullpen instead of actually trying to improve the rotation
The way they looked today scares me because thats what they were last year

Liberatore is not worth being a starter.
Definitely not his best game was against the team he was drafted by Tampa Bay.
Tommy Edman is a fan fave, sucks he has been down. Mark Derosa had a wrsit injury, and we all know ho it essentially ended his carrer. Im still pullin for Tommy, he is a key piece on this roster. And one of the best to watch.
Honestly siani has taken that spot and would of made the catch Carlson dropped which imo was the dagger

A total of 3 runs in 3 games. This is what has me apprehensive of any post season runs. They are capable of falling right back into the April/May lack of offense at any given time no matter who the opponent is. It keeps me from being positive about this year. It’s not even “wait til next year” it’s more like “wait a couple/ three years” to become real contenders again.

We know that Dewitt and Mo will just be looking for the low hanging fruit. So, I for one will not be getting too excited.

With the expanded postseason format, about two thirds of the teams have at least a mathematical chance of making the playoffs. They are going to want to keep their key players, so that reduces the number of teams that will be sellers to maybe 10-12. Demand far exceeds supply, so the sellers are going to want insane compensation in any trades. Can the Cardinals acquire a couple of impact players? Certainly, but it will mean giving up players fans don’t want to see leave. The cold hard fact is they aren’t going to get a decent starter, reliever or possibly an impact bench bat in exchange for Carlson, Herrera or Fermin.
Are you guys watching the same team I am watching? Our pitching is NOT the biggest problem. We have a staff that ranks in the middle of the league. It is not great, but it is good enough. If we had hitting anywhere near the middle of the league, we would be running away with the division right now. Our hitting is TERRIBLE. We. Need. Bats. And that's the problem. There may not be much out there to trade for. We aren't going anywhere this year. And unless we get a new minor league coaching staff, people who know how to develop young talent, we will not be seeing any young talent coming up in future years. Walker looks worse every month. Saggese is not progressing at all. The cupboard is bare.
For yrs I went to Pittsburgh to watch Cards play easy close seats are abundant Must be on wkends though can't go on weekdays. I like their stadium nice setting & all.
The Cardinals are a very hard team to stay positive about. Cardinals hit one guy and blew this game down the toilet man this team has got issues! Cardinals dominated 5-0 tonight.

@@tonynelson2259 it's free on antenna tv or the roku.. in St.Louis it's 33.4 antenna tv..or if you are in the Chicago area it's also free on channel 9.2..I dropped Comcast years ago high cost..with a Decent over the air antenna I pick up all cbs.nbc.abc. fox .pbs..ion..metvs. grit, cozi ..etc about 60 free channels.. the store manards have good ones..btw in 60miles from the towers and I'm about 30ft up with a indoor antenna..I'm happy not paying 120 bucks a month to Comcast. Funny show! they don't makem like that anymore. Have a good one!

Matthew Liberatore isn't good let's be honest. I can tell how Mo thinks about our starting pitching, oh Libby is good Matz is good, Mikolas is good right. The Cardinals aren't gonna ever be a winning baseball club or be competing for a WS based on how this team works. I'm not a Cubs fan but at least their tearing it all down to fix things.
Mo will say there’s no need to add anyone at the deadline because Riley and Edman will be coming off the IL and that’s just like trading for row impact players.

When it came to selling, the Cardinals had NO problem parting with their top 2 pitchers, 2 relievers, etc. However, when it comes to buying, the Cardinals shop at Aldi instead of Whole Foods for the team, or they would rather starve by doing nothing. I only hope for the best but expect the worst.

The front office and ownership need to occasionally win a big one from the big market teams. Cardinal Nation have always been big market in our attendance..Real Cardinal fans knew we were never getting Yamamoto or Ohtani, but didn't even show up for Imanaga. We get used to hearing the Dodgers are getting Crochet, Roberts plus whatever else they need. We're left hoping we get Paxton. We got rid of 6 players when we were out of it last year, now we can't get three to make us serious contender? This is it for Goldschmidt and Arenado isn't getting any younger. We should be able to get Rooker, but how about Randall Grichuk? We can't get Skubal, how about Flaherty instead? Entice a Scherzer/Yates deal. That at least would show an honest attempt. The Edman and O'Brien activations is just like a trade. We need them and a couple more pieces. At 63 and a diehard fan, my patience is wearing thin, and I am developing "professional differences" with the Big Mo approach. They are playing like they need fresh troops. Go get them, Mo.

Hopefully Tommies wrist will be good in time. He will be the center fielder but can you depend on the wrist to be good? Im still with Crochet from the sox..why not can we give up the farm now to win we got the best closer in the majors .. another number 1,2 starter going deeper saves your bp arms so its a winwin. Carlsons caught balls like that before in center..what you expect without playing time. @@scott2726 I don't blame Carlson I remember playing ball and you sit and not play the outfield for so many games then go out and judge a fly bal it is super hard the biggest problem we have is in our evaluation of players you have Walker that has played infield his career then you tell him going to outfield so he works on that but not hitting so I blame coahesl
