    Thanks for this Tactical Pascale. Thanks to you I just started and took off in the spit on my very first attempt! :) You really make the best guides for this game. I'm incredibly thankful! I can see why people go crazy over the taxiing, but your guide made it clear how easy it is once you just gently apply the breaks + keep the RPM down!

    Thanks for this Pascale. Enjoying the Spitfire very much in VR. Looking forward to a landing tutorial. Thought i had it nailed, but then i found out rudder assist was on. Switched it off and that makes it a lot harder. Currently reading The Big Show, and after that i will try the upcoming campain.

      The Big Show campaign is fantastic. The first mission gave me goosebumps. I’d you look at my “should you buy the spitfire” video there is some footage from the start of the Big Show.

    Thanks vey much for this. I'm fairly new (a few weeks) to DCS and was finding the Spit to be very tricky on T/O and landing. I have watched your vids on both and, whilst I admit I'm not at your level yet, I am fairly confident that I can get in the air in a reasonable (if not pretty) fashion, and can get it down without a fireball about 90% of the time! Thanks again!

    Something I found helped me with the spitfire ground work in VR was the seat height. I bound the seat height to a control, and have it quite high while taxiing and taking off. The extra bit of vision you get of the runway made it easier for me. You have to lower it after takeoff to be able to use the gun sight. Note that the seat height is under Cockpit View and is called Cockpit Camera UP, Down etc

    Certainly made that look easy, would you still continue to fly with the rudder trim in the same position or would it need to be brought back to centre during flight?

    • @TacticalPascale
      @TacticalPascale  4 года назад +2

      Trim is constantly adjusted in the spit, it is changed every time you adjust speed

    I haven't found any videos on what RPM and boost values to use when dogfighting. I always end up with a dead engine :(

    • @TacticalPascale

      Do not go above boost 12 rpm 28 and you’ll be golden for an hour.

      @@TacticalPascale Hi Pascale, did you ever post that video? I can't seem to find it and am having a heck of a time wrapping my head around warbird (Spit's my only one so far!) engines. Thanks again for your tutorials, found you via your SEAD series, which I hope you continue!

    • @TacticalPascale
      @TacticalPascale  3 года назад +1

      I haven’t yet. But while I’m responding: RPM 28, boost 12 - don’t go above these settings and you won’t break the engine

      @@TacticalPascale Thank you! I put it down out of laziness (Hornet + JDAMs = easy mode) but you've inspired me to try to get back at it only after touching it a few times in the last 9 months.

    I am having great difficulty keeping my Spit from cooking the engine before I get to the end of the runway after take off. Also my taxiing is like drunk walking home from the watering hole. I watched this video and I still get steam coming out of the engine after lift off before I get to the end of the runway. I do throttle back a bit once I get off the ground. Please tell me what I am missing. Thanks.
    Do you accept Yanks in Tactical DCS discord group? Does it help if my first paid module was the Spitfire Mk. IX? Then I got the P-47 to keep from crashing as much. That didn't help. I did get the game only two weeks ago. I had played Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator I, II, and III back in the day. But DCS is much more exacting. I think it will be a fun retirement pursuit.

    • @TacticalPascale
      @TacticalPascale  3 года назад

      We accept everyone. Make sure you only throttle up to 30

      @@TacticalPascale Thanks I will sign up. I see this every time on the Caucus Map on the Takeoff Instant Action. At other times I can go into an extended climb in other locations and not have any trouble. But in this case I don't get to the end of the runway before the steam is coming out of the engine.

      @@TacticalPascale Any fix as to why the Spitfire keeps having a roll left tendency upon take off?

    • @TacticalPascale
      @TacticalPascale  4 года назад +1

      Engine torque,before the take off roll you need to trim it to starboard
