The prop should have been placed all the way forward. This is because if you need to alter power or go around, the airplane is set up to do that and will yaw in a consistent and predictable manner.
I followed your takeoff vid and for the first time it looked like I knew what I was doing. I can't wait to try this. Until now if I could walk away from the spit it was a good landing. Thank you!

tap the brakes. excellent advice. i'll try this. I always seem to have trouble keeping stable as im trying to come to a stop after i've touched down smooth. Always tipping onto a wing
Let it roll for a few seconds so it’s stable, then tap tap tappy

You made that look easy. Do you use much aft-stick when you have touched down to keep the tail down? I tend to use quite a lot of aft in the 'stang because it restricts the tailwheel castor.
No, not really. It's normally a slow enough speed to prevent lifting again or rotating.

Does anyone know the command to get the pilot out of an aircraft after shutdown? I have been searching since forever , I had it before and would use it whenever I flew the P-51D Mustang and the Spitfire LX-MK IX ...I've since built a New Gaming Pc and for the life of me I can't find it anywhere. any help will be appreciated immensely. thank you.

A video on WW2 crosswind landings? Never really clicked with me. Crab like my life depends on it but always crash with narrow-geared warbirds.
For me the challenge is landing the Spit on a runway in a crosswind. Otherwise it's no problem at all.
Well you are not alone, this is a typical problem for many types of tail dragger aircraft and particularly the spitfire. This is because the center of gravity is behind the front two wheals. Combine this with, as the aircraft slows the control surfaces become ineffective. Once the crosswind starts to push (Actually suck) the aircrafts tail down wind the ruder has become just about useless so the nose swings up into wind. The wind along with a high center of mass can then lift the up wind wing digging the down wind wing into the ground. This is made worse because the spitfire’s front wheels are relatively close together (Relative to something like the P 47). Its possible to use differential breaking to prevent the swing from starting but often this can turn into a bigger problem as the over use of the wheel brakes causes the airplane to nose over trashing the engine, airplane and pilot!
This is why most WW2 airfields didn’t limit the direction of landing to an airfield heading, allowing pilots to land into wind no matter what the wind direction. I’m not sure what the real world crosswind limits of spitfire is but it’s probably around 10 knots, anything more than this and the Spitfire is going to end up pointing into wind one way or another.
For some reason when I fly the spit in DCS the enemy planes seem almost invincible? Any tips welcome!

@@TacticalPascale but I saw a video by sidewinder where he chops a bf109 in half with a few bullets. I'm taking unlimited ammo and hitting the enemy maybe 30 times. Still no kill!
@@bruswain9158 a bit late response but try setting your gunsight to 300 yards and width to 36feet. The gun convergence is 300 yards.
@@Falckodotcom What does that actually do other than change the gap width between the horizontal lines of the crosshair?
@@alextowers3564 If the wingtips of the enemy fighter touches the horizon lines you know that the target is at the optimal convergence range (300 yards in this case). So maximum damage is done since all the rounds come together at this distance.

I blow stuff up all the time. This was a landing tutorial, if I blow something up it’s gone wrong.
