    Radiator Flap description: Switching ON opens the flaps immediately, end of storey even if engine idle on the ground (not a good idea overcools the engine). You can see them open if you look on F2 view. 'Off' is Auto . I prefer to switch manually ON when entering a dogfight to be certain they are open to avoid overheating engine under stress. Fuel Pump switch MUST be set to ON if ascending above 12,000ft otherwise engine will cut out. Below 12,000ft doesn't matter whether off or on. Also worth noting the TYPE OF GUN AMMO being carried has a significant impact on damage to different target types with the spitfire. Default is Combat Mix which is 'OK' for anything, BUT if going against Bombers the HE ANTI-BOMBER ammo is way more effective . In fact I use that for general A2A, and use Combat Mix if I am ground strafing/mixed role. Not convinced the GROUND ATTACK ammo is more effective than Combat mix for ground attack.

    Good video but a correction is needed at 6:50
    The lower half of the slip indicator is a turn indicator not a bank indicator as you suggested. It is a single Axis giro. It measures the rate of yaw and has nothing to do with the bank the airplane has on it. It measures degrees per second. you could skid a turn with the wings flat using rudder only and it would indicate how many degrees per second your nose is drifting left or right.

    Your "dropping bombs" button actually operated the radio

    Any idea how the cockpit looks so bright? Do you use any customized mod cockpit? I read around that cockpit illumination in Spitfire has been broken since they added deferred rendering

    Does anyone know the command to get the pilot out of an aircraft after shutdown? I have been searching since forever , I had it before and would use it whenever I flew the P-51D Mustang and the Spitfire LX-MK IX ...I've since built a New Gaming Pc and for the life of me I can't find it anywhere. any help will be appreciated immensely. thank you.

    The Mark IX Spitfire in our Museum has a round brass firing button on the top of the control column. Also by the pilots right shoulder is a fitting for a Morse Code transmission key.

      That's odd
      Basically, the A wing was used on Mk 2a's and about 100 Mk Va's
      The Mk IX was at first converted from Mk Vc airframes, all of which used the C wing and very little chance any of those used an 8x 303 weapons loadout
      and even if they did, I'd still wager they would carry the Mk IX's dual trigger

      @PNH750 Год назад

      @@Nightdare I have been informed that a Mk 1a trigger button has been used because the builders/restorers could not find a genuine Mk 1X version with the slider switch. The Morse key has now been repositioned in front of the undercarriage lever.

      Like I said: odd, because the dual trigger was probably produced the most and used the longest
