    The only weakness that Lara ever had was his own mind. Line and length seamers like McGrath and Angus Fraser were his kryptonite because they would keep plugging away on the same spot until Lara got bored and lost his concentration. But against great spinners like Warne and Murali, Lara feasted because reacting to their variations kept his mind focused and brought out the best in him. It has been almost 20 years since he retired and he's still got the eyes, hands, and feet to get on top of the most dominant spinner in world cricket. And he still makes batting look better than anyone else in the history of the game.

      Dats awesome and brilliant comment. Between Sachin and Lara I always rate Lara the best. The way he ovened the Aussies, the way he dugged out from worst to the greatest is simply beyond the cricket game. He is just a rare polished gem of the Cricket and even at 53 he is moving like 23 in NETS. His concentration and Hawk Eye over the ball is just unimaginable. The only concern as you told is its the matter of his mind and which side of the bed he is going to awake. For every other teams who played with him, it was like Lion Deer Fight and opponets prayers to make lara unavailable in ground went to vain and they felt prey to this cricket lion..... Sad he retired too early and WICB did not honored his contributions. Undoubtedly he deserves Sir Brian Lara . Hope he will be knighted soon

    Rashid didn't get his line right here but look at the way how lara's feet and hands are moving.Its seems like he's soo gifted as a batsman,soo much fluidity there

    I feel so lucky to have witnessed these players in their prime, especially the 90s, when the joy of following cricket was such that even a transistor would keep me busy whole day.

    Wish we could’ve seen Lara in the t20 era when windies need boundaries him and chanderpaul in the middle oh I could only dream. Sad part is no other 2 batsman have come close to those 2 since and it’s sad we have been unable to produce more great cricketers.

    • @eddiec2go
      @eddiec2go Год назад +1

      Yeah, same. Considering how much spin is used to stem the flow of runs in current t20, Lara would be a nightmare for oppositions. At age 53, it took him about 4 deliveries to be able to read Rashid, which 90% of current players can't do.

    Cricket has not seen a more beautiful player to watch ever !! The great Brian Charles Lara. I remember we used to play cricket games named after him.

    I am one of his biggest supporters...even though I support India and even in playing days, I would watch him over Tendulkar if there was a chance to watch only one of them... supreme with the feet and hand he used to be. In the same position, he could look like he was flicking but he would cut for 4 on the square... for me best ever batsman I have watched batting.

    At 53, he is playing a lot better than modern batters. Rashid summed it up the best 'as soon as the ball pitches, he knows where to play the ball, which makes it hard bowling to him'

    Would have been so nice if they would have played in same era, Lara looks in amazing touch he looks fit and still has a great class of batting. Also Rashid Khan the modern days great white ball spin bowler and athlete.
    I thought Rashid Khan might say “manana” which means Thanks in Pashto(Afghanistan official) language
