As a VH fan, let me say how this lifts my spirits in a world gone insane, to remember 1970’s when these guys broke out, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
The 70s was a great time, and as it turns out the best time for music. All of the music I grew up on stands the test of time :-) glad you're enjoying it
The Full Bug is one of the great unsung heroes of the DLR VH catalogue. It just rocks, has a great groove and it just makes you smile. Like all the best songs its a smash and grab raid.
For people that say he could never sing, don't know what they are talking about. He had a raspy bluesy voice with a lot of high notes. As for today, he can't sing a lick, but I still commend him. He is just too narcissistic and hard to get along with today!
This sounds like they've got the song pretty much complete and are just running takes to fine tune. It's just missing a few bits of spice, and final lyrics. But, the tempo, arrangement and tones are 99% there.
Whenever I hear outtakes like this, I always wonder, at what point did someone say, "no no no, this ain't workin', I don't like the title". "...and put some vocals in that acoustic part in the beginning" 😅

Van Halen may have broke out in the late 70s but they definitely paved the road and were the master influencers of the whole decade of the 80's

No way this is from 1977. It’s from the 1982 Diver Down recording sessions.
I was just thinking the same thing; sounds like it was from the “Diver Down” sessions, but with different lyrics. Still badass though.
