Midir is probably the only boss that becomes much harder when you summon. His wide swings reaching for miles and the fact that you can never tell who has his aggro, i got my ass kicked so many times as a summon and i dont even die to midir in solo lmao
That's because with the average starting vitality level, you can wear the entire fallen knight set, use a katana, with the grass cress shield and still be under 70%. At worst you wear havel's ring, which you can get in the adjoining area from an easy miniboss.
I had this guy named Billy Bob basically carry me through this fight. I wasn't doing half bad but he didn't get hit once so in the end my only job was to not screw up lol.
I had a guy asking for help in Steam forum to carry him fighting sister friede because he could not take it anymore after try killing her for more than 7 hours and failed, he especially begged me to wear skull ring and always take the aggro because he wasn't really good dodging her attacks, in return i asked him to use his strongest weapon to utilize the moment, basically working together to accomplish it, ofc i also attacked as well not just dodging. I remember how happy he was when we did it, even tho some people might think it as "trivial", thing like this seeing people happy sometimes give me happiness as well..
Vgr should be infinite as well, faith and int should be balanced just a bit differently because midir is weak to lightning (but he can still use dark magic so…) otherwise though, pretty damn accurate.
Idk, man. I tried that sorcery when I first killed Midir, and with the right Intelligence level, it works like a charm. I think the last time I used that spell, before my old PS4 took a dump on me & died, I did about 600-700 damage even on the late-game enemies.

It's a bad idea to fight Midir with summons. Because of how massive he is, it's a fight that is essentially required to be done solo so you can keep aggro on yourself the whole time, because if you have other people there, with his range and hitboxes as well as the AOE attacks, it makes him completely unpredictable and a nuisance to engage accordingly.
On my first playthrough my friend helped me with a few bosses, Midir included, it took us 43 tries to kill him, and it was the last time we were gonna try before going to Gael for us both(he hadnt killed Gael yet) and start NG+, it was funny cuz we were used to play games with taunt mechanics so we repeatadly screamed at each other "FOR FUCKS SAKE GET HIM OFF ME" "THERE'S NO VIABLE AGGRO PULL IS DARK SOULS YOU DUMB FUCK"... Damn, I miss that week stuck on Midir

I died to Midir a fair bit my first time facing him so I got okay at beating him. Then, I didn't know what else to do as I beat Gael after him so I helped more people kill midir. The hardest part ended up being too many people summoned and the Host dying to Midir even without aggro.
With 3 people. One heads straight towards Midir, One runs in a wide arc to get a perfect but impossible to find opening. One transforms into a ladder with the white branch and yells slurs at it. Or that’s how my trio was like…
Me and the bois were struggling with him for hours before I decided to try some of my dust-covered sorceries and fount the vape cloud... And so the dragon that witnessed the end of times died to a goddamn vaping wizard.
i had an host who had trouble with learning/dodging Midir's pattern and always ended up being 2 shoted by one of his combo. They also wanted to re-summon me everytime and each time they tried another set of armor. They even tried to dress like me in case my clothes had some kind of magical power (they didn't i just wanted to light roll and i used tear of denial and great heal in case i was hit). After a dozen of tries (and a few annoying abductions by the judicator because apparently i was the only summon sign available to be spear of the church) they took back a basic armor set and only took their binnocular in their hands because they noticed i could dodge Midir and heal. When we entered the arena, they sprinted the most far away from Midir while i approached and started to fight. At first i thought they were searching for their souls, but then i saw them watching from far away with their binnocular. And that's how they watched me solo Midir (who had more HP) with half health, half estus and light roll, casting my spells when i got hit, and i managed to be aggressive enough so we didn't have the bad tantrum lazer in phase 2. it was a really cool experience !
I have Battled and Died Valiantly on many battlefield with my fellow Brothers and Sisters of Arms. Midir may singe my bones into a pile of dust, but Legends Never Die 🤘💀🤘
It took me longer than I'm willing to admit to beat him, I just realized after awhile that the mist spell that does DOT is more effective against enemies with larger HP pools and spammed that lol

The Midir fight is my absolute whole favourite in the entire game. It's insanely challenging, huge arena, very amazing music and when you play with phantoms it feels like an MMORPG boss or something

@@necrocyborg5453 Actually it depends, there's a cooldown that counts when the boss is considered vanquished so there is a very small fraction of time where you can actually kill him, die afterwards and still get the reward. Basically if the "Boss defeated" message shows up before the death screen you're good.
I remember my first kill on him, i was in newgame of some sort, and i had roughly 70-80 strength, my thoughts were interesting, because i took him on alone, duel wielding the FUGS, i did over 1k damage a hit on his head, while blasting live to win, honestly, was amazing
I'm the host who does that 50 times, each time trying to adjust my character to make myself stronger before summoning again and still failing miserably, lol
One time i summoned some dude, he bowed, then stopped moving for a minute then ran to the fight. I get a message from them saying "let me handle it" dude proceeds to lay down an ass whooping unlike any I've ever seen. It was amazing.
I find it actually easier to fight him by yourself. This way he does not spin around like a merry-go-round and you can actually hit him. You do a lot more damage as well

DS3 gives more time out after the coop dies around like 30 seconds so he got the kill but is nearly instantly for the host so no....
