I have one in .22 cal. When I first got it the thing was like a shotgun pattern. After pulling the threaded end cap off (no moderator here in Canuckstan) I noticed metal burrs protruding from end of muzzle. Re-crowned and now under a dime at 10 meters. Just something to watch for. This was on both barrels too. I prefer it in the carbine (rifle) form.
Mine too,... Hated it until I vent violent on the barrel with a wire barrel cleaner,... Now it's my most used air rifle around the house. I made some power mods & am getting more than 10 foot pounds of muzzle energy with 14.3 grain pellets & it holds true to crosshairs out to 25 yards.
20 yards in the wind with a red dot was some good shooting sir! I use a 4 x 32 at 15 yards and get similar results. The Chaser is one sweet gun. I ❤ mine.
Yeah, the moderator belongs on the pistol barrel. It's not only a silencer but a muzzle brake. It makes the pellet go faster, more efficient, and stops it tumbling. Ideally it wants rearranging with the large chamber at the muzzle end but Diana cement it together with the large chamber at the barrel end. Other versions of the CP2 are not glued up.
Hey there. Not off the top of my head. Also, I’ve stopped trying to get db numbers because they are just too unreliable without having a properly controlled sound environment. It’s not terribly loud however. Cheers AGW
I found the "action tube" the hammer rides in to be burred. If you take it all apart and clean off the burrs, polish the hammer a bit, de-burr the ports (3.5mm max for .177 pellets) and barrel , and make the whole thing gas tight, you should find, depending on temperature you get some up to 70 good shots with the last 10 dropping off for plinking before the capsule dies. For best grouping the /pistol/ energy wants to come down a bit to deliver 5.3g to 5.6g pellets just under 500fps so that the CO2 self-regulates, a spread of 9fps before the pressure tapers off. As the .177 pistol goes over 500fps the excess gas is just wasted, inefficient, and tumbles the pellet (same happens with 10M Competition pistols). The trick is balancing the hammer force against the CO2 pressure in the valve so the output remains constant, as the CO2 pressure diminishes so the hammer opens the valve for longer. The pistol is more than just accurate with a Hawke Vantage 1x20 red dot. I found the rifle with a scope at 10 metres to be take the eye out of a gnat, my back yard range is not long enough to challenge the rifle. Accuracy of various pellets vary, a lot. Ones I thought might be good, such as different JSB, were not. Light pellets, Gamo Match, were poor. Heavy pellets very inconsistent. Each airgun is different, best on test in mine, RWS R10, Accupell-FT, VMX-Pell.
I live in the not so sunny and warm NE. I got the Chaser for my B/day so I could have something to shoot indoors over the winter to keep my eye in. Nice to see what it can do outdoors, (some good shootin' there Tex). Agree with you about the mag, seems a little odd but I guess they wanted to keep the price down on the kit. They aren't cheap as a separate item either @ $20 a pop from PA or $29 on Amazon, still the kind of shooting I do, the single shot tray's just fine so I'll stick with that. Another great vid as always, thanks Rick.....
This video made me think back of your early videos. The Gamo 440 Hunter video. Can't believe how long ago that was. Time flies and the Airgun game still has me hooked 🤦😂
I've got both the 22 and 177, the 22 is more accurate. And these are worth putting a decent scope on. The 22 shooting domed 14.3gr pellets is a laser out to 30yds and still pretty good at 40yds with alot of holdover. The 177 is good for 20 - 25yds at most.
Is your pistol as quiet as this without the moderator. Also is your rifle quiet without the moderator. I am in Canada so we cannot have these moderators and I like to know how loud it is.
I have Gas Ram air rifles, Springers, Multi Pumps & PCP's BUT the Chaser (kit) in .22 is my most used around the house by far !... The Barska 3 to 9 x 32 scope for $40 is PERECTLY matched for the performance & price tag of this Chaser & holds zero very well !
I have one of these arriving later today. They don't come with one magazine ? I have mags because I have a Stormrider as well, but I use my CARM mags all the time. The factory mags, not so much.
I forgot to mention that the pistol is threaded, but not 1/2 UNF. So our “normal” airgun moderators will not work. I don’t know the thread pattern for someone to make an adaptor. Cheers AGW
If you bought the rifle/pistol kit, just unscrew the suppressor from the rifle barrel and screw it onto the pistol barrel. It's interchangeable. There is a bit of Locktite applied from the factory, but not too bad.
Hi Rick, I love your reviews and channel, Thank you! Recently I have noticed that Diana remove all N-Tech rifles from their site, there is no record on that and previous N-Teck models are not to be found I would love to know why, and what happened. Do I need to worry as a Diana owner?
Is the pistol that quiet without the moderator or did you reduce the sound how about the rifle kit is it also quiet without the moderator. I am in Canada and we cannot have moderators so I want to know how loud it is
How do you expend gas from a cylinder that is too low to shoot accurately? As a boy with my Crossman CO2 pistol I would unscrew the cap holding the CO2 cylinder in and it would dump the remaining gas. However this would make the O ring very cold. Is the best way to just shoot it until empty?
This gun is so awesome. I love the look :) Just ordered it with the drum mag, front grip bipod and 4x hunting scope. Can't wait to get it! Question: Why do you use the oil on the co2?
Nice review. I’ve been considering the Diana Chaser .22 for close range ratting (50ft max). Is there an optic or laser u recommend and can a IR light be mounted as well? Thanks
Rick, I know you don't normally clean barrels but this is definitely one of those guns that needs it out of the box.
All you hear is spring...
Mine will be here after the new year
Thanks Pyramyd Air!!!

Impressive.
I have the 22 kit so far out of my tests it my gun loves the h&n barracuda. And the crossman hallow points
Iam amazed at how accurate this little rifle is. Excellent review. 🎯
You got me hooked on these. I now own both the.177 & .22 !!! It's just a complete Lazer TACK DRIVER of a gun. Mouse fart quiet!!!

I have the chaser in 22 177 and I use crosman premier I get all my shots at 30 feet the size of a dime Tom
Really professional review and great set up. I appreciate your reviews. Thank you
You mentioned db numbers in the intro and description but I didn't catch them. Do you have the db numbers for the rifle barrel?
Hey there. Not off the top of my head. Also, I’ve stopped trying to get db numbers because they are just too unreliable without having a properly controlled sound environment. It’s not terribly loud however.

I have the artemis cp2. Looks exactly the same. Fun gun.
Does anyone know what the thread is for the suppressor ?

They rate the .177 at 646 fps with the rifle barrel and they are correct.👍
My granddaughter loves the rifle configuration. Inch spinners at 20 yards all day.

@@James-ke5sx both are pretty loud without it, especially the pistol.
@@frankmaze1972 Thanks, I guess the neighbors will have to get used to it.
How is the cheek weld with that stock? It looks like the stock is too low.
There are a few shooters that claim that they cleaned the barrels really well and their accuracy improved drastically.
1.77 is awesome. now I'm looking at the .22 ..... yeah man !!
No such thing here in cda but have one and one of my faborite target plingking pistol ever. Like your channel and this review of course!
Just ordered one in camo from Canada shooting supply.
what scope will be the best choice for this carbine?
I have Gas Ram air rifles, Springers, Multi Pumps & PCP's BUT the Chaser (kit) in .22 is my most used around the house by far !... The Barska 3 to 9 x 32 scope for $40 is PERECTLY matched for the performance & price tag of this Chaser & holds zero very well !
Is this hitting harder than the Diana Airbug?
They sound broken or are they that quiet would like to see it in .22 cal.🤔
I have the .22
It is just that quiet!
I have mine set up for squirrel.
Is your rifle quiet without the moderator

Hi Rick,, I so wish you could try the 22 version with different pellets. Blessings
Does Diana sell a true rifle kit? I have the pistol, would enjoy a rifle more. Does Diana sell the barrel & stock without the receiver?
Which would you recommend crosmen 2240 or this chaser. Any comments are appreciated thanks
I have the same gun I use crosman hollpoint pellets and I can shoot dime size groops with out a rest
Which red dot is that? Hawke?
Does it come with a scope ?
One can't put LDC/moderator on pistol ?
I forgot to mention that the pistol is threaded, but not 1/2 UNF. So our “normal” airgun moderators will not work. I don’t know the thread pattern for someone to make an adaptor.

The pistol barrel has a M10x1 thread

Just made a long barrel setup rifle with the 2240. The price is excellent.

To protect the rubber o-rings and insure a proper seal...
good afternoon sir can you send a rifle like that i want to buy it thank you
WHAT KIND OF SCOPE ARE YOU USING?
Hawke red dot scope.

@@traviswiser8524 yes, very well
Nice shot and cool.
From t2bkk channel in Thailand
seems to me that the pistol was more acurate than the rifle
Feet per second 😂 small or big
