I have an M&P shield 2.0 Compact in 45 caliber. It is definitely a very thin gun especially if you're used to double stacks. But I use this as one of my concealed carry options. I have even carried it in my pants pocket (with pants that have deep pockets).
Love the PC trigger and sights. Don't care one was or another about the porting . But i used mine at the range. So i liked the light trigger. Don't have it anymore because i trade all the time.
I have the same Shield Plus 9mm Performance Center in 4" barrel. No porting and no optics. It replaced my Glock 43x as my favorite EDC. LOVE S&W, you can't go wrong with them.
Those fiber optic sights do look interesting. I'd like to try them. As for the ported barrel I'll pass. Ported barrels and super-light trigger pulls are great on the range playing at Competition Commando. I do not want the possibility of spewing hot gases and particulates into my face / body for concealed carry. I personally prefer to have a manual safety and all of my CCW pistols have one. Life is good!
guys at S&W on the performance section just cringed a bit seeing Hickok make the normal shield look better than their massaged one...now they can't justify the extra cost...😅😂🤣 I do have the regular Shield but with the high viz sights and better trigger but not ported...this is a great choice for conceal carry...it's slim and compact ang great for that emergency moment you got to have something...I cannot say that this is a great fun range day piece...for that you might want to get something in mid or full size...one needs to practice quite a bit to be comfortable and proficient enough with it...be safe...
I have the 2.0 plus I like mine l like a Smith a lot while I’m living vicariously through you brotha here in SC I have the talon grips on it too thanks for sharing
I agree with Professor Hickok45 I like a somewhat heavy trigger for a Carry firearm. Many of he Newer offerings have too light of a trigger for me on a defensive firearm.
This must be an old video that he had to redo because of youtube restrictions? But it is weird that he just released this video because I have been carrying my shield 2.0 for the last two days
Porting isn’t good for self defense. If the muzzle IS NOT in front of your body the upward and outward blasts from the ports will tear you apart. I, at one time carried a ported duty gun, UNTIL I had to actually fire it on duty. I bought a sig P220.
@ nope, barricade. It tore some of the material off and blew it back onto my face. Also happened during qualifying. I thought that was just a fluke though as it blew some “splinters” off the 4x4 post with no harm that time, but it was a surprise. For hunting guns or “fun” guns they are nice, but NOT if you need to fire close to your own body. But my gun, a Springfield 1911 Ultra Comp (10 holes in the barrel) angled the pressure up and out at a 45 degree angle from the bore axis.
I have the Shield 1.0 and it is not your best first gun. Better to go with a "full size" handgun. 9mm is noticeably snappier in the shield compared to an M&P full size. I don't think Hickok even feels recoil after shooting as many rounds as he has.
Good video! Smith m&p shield nice Guns .I bought the Smith m&p 2.0 40 caliber full size recently I do like it a lot but I think it's a whole Diffrent gun especially with no safety to speak of & I did order those same Fiber optic sights .
im not mad at my 365 . its so damn compact that i carry the 13 round mag and its still near invisible . i carry one round of ratshot in the chamber , it eliminates the need for me to waste time surveying the background . my truck cost me 700 dollars , ( then i spent another 5 grand or so on it ) . it IS NOT free for the taking .
3:04 even if will have 2% better aim. I will take literally every single advantage i can get if I ever am in that scenario. No reason to not min/max when it can be your life on the line. Many lives are saved or lost by 2% diffences
Why? So you can have it get activated when you don't intend it to? DA/SA would be better. Far better. Hammer you can ride your thumb on when holstering so it can't go off, those sweet SA follow up shots or extra precision.
LOVE my 2.0 Shield in 45acp. It is my favorite EDC.
"Is there a difference? If so, is there enough difference to make a difference? You be the judge." PH
Life is good
IN hickok45 we trust .
call it poor or whatever you'd like. The shield is undoubtedly a straight shooter
i actually just picked up a shield plus, and i have to say its one of the most comfortable handguns ive ever owned. LOVE IT
And I have the O/G Shield in 40 caliber , it’s my daily carry and yes the grip is thinner but longer
I don't notice recoil anymore, I've just got past it. I'm so focused on trigger, sights & target. The recoil is over before I think about it.
"Life is good." 😀💥💥💥💥💥💥

M&P > Glock
Anything > glock
all day long and twice on Sundays :)
Love my hellcat osp with 124 gr hst 👍

Ah, NY reload! Nice
Porting is to promote more sales, because of looks, they shoot basically identical .
That's the shield 🛡 👌 😊
If they would just make a DA/SA version i would be so happy
how old is this shield plus has been out for a while now
Can't you just change the slides?

This is the clips channel…recycled video clips of oldies.

Tear you apart? Lol.. What were you holding it right next to your face?

Amazing, isn't he?
Nice the sworming in the word 😂 fire arm
Haven’t shot a Performance Center.
Luv my Shield Plus just the way it is.
Talk to a lot of people, don't just listen to me 😆😆😆 Hickok would never lead you wrong.

Maybe you should work on your grip/wrist strength
Thinking 9mm is snappy is the first problem

Are you going to the January Shot Show ! ?
I still prefer my colt defender most of all.

It's not a good idea to use a pistol with safeties and not use the safeties. It can cause problems.
Two Shields , and a bullet proof Cup , doesn’t include supporter
How about the porting for ladies? Would it make it more comfortable for ladies to shoot?
Speed Holes

Fun .!
Carried a shield til I won a hellcat
You need to differentiate when these are re-uploads or something. It’s very confusing of what is current and what isn’t
Google ...
why do you always pull the trigger before laying a pisto. down?
🙏🙏🙏👍🤛🦅😎🇺🇸
First
All guns should have a safety
