Many thanks for this interesting interview. Michael Thomas was one of my favourite players at Liverpool when I regularly used to go Anfield back then. The team was always much better balanced with Thomas and Barnes in midfield but Roy Evans showed his weakness by leaving Thomas out for Rednapp when Rednapp was fit even though that made the team worse. Which ultimately cost Evans his job, those bad decisions. Thomas had a touch of Ronnie Whelan about him, good tackler, athelticism, never gave the ball away, kept things moving. If he stayed fit in his first two years would have scored more goals.
