  • Recently, D&J Precision Machine owner Drew Pumphrey invited the Engine Builder team to his Cambridge, OH diesel shop to help tear down Justin Zeigler's UCC record-setting 6.7L Cummins-based Enforcer engine. We go over what happened during the UCC weekend and what Drew expects to find before tearing it down to see the results.

    3,300 hp with a stock crank I don’t think theirs another engine on the planet that can do that, especially with 6.7 L

    Camera angle and editing is horrible. When someone is explaining something and pointing it out, zoom in on it instead of their face.

    I’m impressed with how the engine is really holding up.
    The inline 6 engine with 7 large main bearings to support that crank with those cylinder pressures and load surely helped a lot.
    Nitrous is nasty stuff especially when they backfire.
    At that power level, it’s getting near to where top fuel style engine rebuilds is a must to make sure none of the parts are starting to fail.
    Those piston rings sure are taking a severe beating to last just a weekend.

    An open and honest engine builder is the key to a successful season. He's not afraid to say " this will fail' and only dig deep into your pocket when it's the proper time to. If he told me " it's time for a billet crank and or block" then I know its time to dig deep if I want to continue to play and feel good about money spent. I'd have this guy build all my engines and feel confident. He knows his shit.

    I think there is more power to be chased after based on the tulip valve. 4000HP might be possible.
    Here I was thinking this record will never be beat. I look forward to next years event. 🏁🏁🏁

    Pistons are forged from cold rolled 100dollar bills, with gold encrusted tops, and pure diamond coating, and the oil was custom mammoth blood from 20,000 years ago and is aged perfectly.

    3:48 Getting 3,000+ through tires on a chassis dyno is a huge accomplishment. Pro drag racers use hub dyno's on their 3,000+ horsepower vehicles (see FuelTech's page) how come comp diesel guys are not?

    No one has been able to answer me and I’ve posted this question everywhere… why do diesel guys only run 1/8 mile? Why not 1/4 mile?

    • @yepitsme2536
      @yepitsme2536 Год назад +2

      Saftey. I know it sounds like a lame answer but there's already been some accidents due to speed. And yes I know the gas guys do it but, they are considerably lighter than the 4x4 diesels (such as Zeiglers). It gets exponentially harder to stop as the weight goes up. That's why recently guys have been building lighter promod style cars similar to gas cars. It's a lot safer

    • @joshuaquilliam2887
      @joshuaquilliam2887 Год назад

      Uh no, diesels make power based on load. If he didn't load the truck with brakes he would blow straight through the dyno. As you can hear in the video he already blows through the run in a second due to the power. At some point we are going to hit a wall with the actual dyno itself lol.
