Amazing chassis, absolutely nothing like the tamiya f1. I used to race tamiya f1s way back in the day and yah know what......they took all the shit we could throw at them better crashing into each other and crashing into the kerbs, and they came back for more. Most of the racers, but not me, threw all the hop ups they could at them, but the guy who won the championship's f1 , was bog stock out of the box, not even a single ball bearing in it. Seeeeee, talent......not money......that's what you need. He even got a sponsorship from losi, he really deserved it, and you know what was hard to swallow........ I was the only one out of the whole of the rc club who congratulated him, I saw the club members in a different light after that. The green eyed monster reared its ugly head there. Anyoldhoo, another nice video Gav. 😎👍👍👍
Fun fact: Cecil Schumacher was a Cosworth engineer working on F1 transmissions before founding Schumacher Racing. It's come full circle back to F1 (radio control) now!
I’ve got three vintage F1 cars, two from Tamiya and one from Kyosho. The ICON is a completely different animal built just for the track. I will run all the F1 cars when the weather improves
Haha! Gavin your video production and music selection in editing is great. “Its the money, its, its the money!” you even have 💸 emoji popping up. Love your work. This F1 chassis looks cool too.
Yep this one is really for racers over casual drivers and shelf queens. Like you say it’s not a budget chassis kit and it doesn’t have the true F1 realism of say the Tamiya F201 chassis but it will blow them away on the track and that’s it purpose.
I recently built the icon dampers and found then to leak or drip just a little. Put the little air hole in the black tubes facing upwards when on the car which seemed to help matters a bit.
That is one damn good looking chassis. It would have been nice to have some sort of suspension on the front, and adjustable camber out of the box, but I suppose that's why they sell upgrade parts ;) Great video as always!!
It does have suspension outboard over the hubs with tiny springs and thick damper oil on the outboard pins. Just not inboard like an F1 car. This is where a rc 'race' car differs from a scale point of view.
Quick question ive never owned or built a F1 car before and I had a question on what would be a good motor to run with the stock pinion and spur gear, I would also like to know whats a good motor and pinion and spur gear for top speed performance, any help to my question would be amazing as I really wanna purchase this amazing car.
If it's made by schumacher we don't have to stay tuned to find out if it's any good. I know it will be but I'm staying tuned for the build. Everything they make is superbly engineered.
With a solid rear axle, and no differential, how well will it go round corners? Or is not something to worry about? Great build video. It looks like a super quality kit. Keep up the good work :)
LOL, video was good but I think I was brushing a cigarette burn of my clothes at that point! Sorry :( Are you going to be putting an in action video up, later?
Why? I adjusted the car today and changed a few things around. It didn’t stop me from undoing the screws. I didn’t put loads on, just a small bit that you have to crack to remove the screw.
@@RCKickschannel these types of cars are designed with a small degree of torsional flex in them to operate properly and generate grip Threadlock removes that and makes the very nasty to drive. They don't shake themselves to pieces like other cars do. It's a very bad idea to use any amount of threaflock.
Glorified pan car! awesome! To me I would rather race a more realistic car! cool but in reality pan car like this breaks to easily for the speed it's capable of.

Thank you for the time and effort..... to show us this..... now I have the confidence to build one my self ...fun ...fun zoom.
That looked like it was enjoyable - can’t wait to see this go!!!
Great build, as usual! Would like to see a head to head between all the different F1 chassis you've got lined up! Keep up the good work!

Looks awesome, can't wait to see more on it. Love to see how you paint the body and set up the electronics.
Another great video thanks for the content always enjoyable and informative.
USED TO LOVE BUILDING TAMIYA F1 makes me want to get one, not to mention fassssst!! Great build video 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice looking car looking forward to seeing more of this on you channel 👍🏻

Thanks Carl
Awesome looking car 👍
Quite incredible bit of Kit!
It's damn expensive, but at least what you get, is a Competition Ready Car.
Definitely shows the best of British!!

Absolutely!!

Awesome video! Loved how the manual was always up for the section you were working on. Great content, I subscribed :))
Thanks for the sub!
Really nice car. Turned out great
If those rear wheel hex's are 14mm then you can use Tamiya or Sweep F1 rims and tyres, I'm starting to like it a bit more now

good build looks good quality
Oh i can hear Rebecca screaming at you for smearing loctite on your desk :p
Looks like he squashed a Smurf on there!
Alloy chassis option would be for indoors on black high grip carpet. Std Carbon would be for outdoors on Tarmac.

Do you have a storage unit for the cars and projects we don't see lol
I have another room that will become the new studio when funds allow and it’s currently acting as a storage room
Great vid! Now all you need is a Ferrari body shell and you are good to go!
I want it to be a fast F1 car so it’s not going to be a Ferrari 😜.
@@RCKickschannel lol, ok, they deserved that one!

I’m not super sold on some of the rere vintage stuff but the new kits so far have been really good.
Great video thanks. Where can you run these in the U.K?
How wide is the rear spoiler ? I want to use one on a project that isn't an F1 car, it's more of a sand strip funny car
im looking to get a F1 RC car, i have never built any RC what one would you recommend? i prefer 1/10 scale thank you
What do you seal your edges with on your carbon chassis
Does it come with wheels or a body shell
Very nice build by Schumacher. For the body livery why not you go for Nigel Mansell Williams Fw14B?
It will probably be a Benz as I have a decal livery I can use
Mind showing the suspension on it? Looks very low to the ground. Any plans to run this on a proper circuit?
I want to do a running video on all my F1 cars.
What motor esc did you use ?
A budget combo. Really you need a sensored brushless system for these.

Well it couldn’t have been that good, you
Missed me building the diff
LOL, video was good but I think I was brushing a cigarette burn of my clothes at that point! Sorry :( Are you going to be putting an in action video up, later?
Yep got it now!
Ball diff in the rear spur gear
Body needs doing next and the electronics. This one if for racing and driving, not a shelf queen
Where's the DRS ???? IF it was a Mercedes it would have it !!! Nice build man, guess I'll start saving....
Are you going to do the tamiya tt02 Ford mustang gt4 (anniversary edition
I’ve built so many TT02 chassis on the show so no I’m not planning on it.
So, since it’s a British car, do you have to send it to the shop every two months or so?
No but when it rains it lets in lots of water.
@@RCKickschannel which is every day in the UK!
Can i buy that sir
Rothmans livery?
Please please say you didn't use threaflock? Huge no-no on a racing car with alloy screws!
