5:30 Nice command and conquer zero hour music
I really hope they renovate that home & he's able to keep it clean, because its quite nice & charming! Those arched doorways were beautiful! The outdoor area was nice as well
yes luved the arched doorways too and those that were outside - very cool house
Ikr?! This could be such a cool house with a good renovation, it has great bones!
These abridged episodes are appreciated and all, but cutting context makes some of it pretty funny.
"John is stalling because he refuses to throw away milk."
"The milk is old"
"Okay throw it out"
But 40 years old is a bit much, lol.
“But it’s good cheese”
🤣
Like he didn't Know lol
Yeah that bit was a little comical due to the editing lol
Man i was disappointed that they didn’t dump the milk but seeing his reaction to the cleaner house and his smile made up for it, i love these videos
it was some kind of evaporated powder milk...lol probably was still good the lifespan on all those military meals are like 25 years
@@charlesjones32787 last time i checked 25 years is a lot shorter than 40
omg
I would say it was powdered milk.
It could have still been good. If it was sealed.
You can literally see some of the depression disappear he’s standing up straight not hunched over and his smile
I agree it took years off him
milk so old the cow that gave it has great great grandkids giving milk now
😂😂😂‼️
Facts😂😂😂
Actually it would be great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandchildren.
😂😂😂
Ha! Goddie
These are always my favorite bc they’re just people that have been depressed and let the state of their house get bad and that in turn makes them more depressed and they know they need help and they take the help that’s offered. I fully relate to this
I was expecting 40 gallons of spoiled, curdled milkwith someone refusing to let it go
Same😂😂😂😂
Same. Mountain House is actually designed for long shelf life. Doomsday preppers buy if and similar stuff to last for 30+ years.
At least we all can be dumbasses together for thinking someone was hoarding 40 gallons of milk
"Oooo cottage cheese!!"
"THAT IS MILK!"
Thought the same.
@@AutumnSwift2 I have watched enough of these episodes as well as having personally know several hoarders! Trust me 40 gallons of curdled milk is entirely possible
He’s adorable and his kids look just like him.
I know. I think he is so handsome. I hope he has a very happy amd clean life in is home.
Sorry his daughters are just terrible to allow him to live in conditions that bad it’s a disorder if he had a brain tumor or something like that would they wait until it’s beyond trying to get him the help he needs we have done everything for both of our parents who suffer from heart problems but they have come through it all because my sister and I don’t just turn around and pretend like it’s not that bad
Adorable? He was shooting rats! Cruel and disgusting. Just have them humanely removed.
Adorable? I’ve seen better looking old men than him.
@@laurariley7071 do you know how to use a period?
That house has some SERIOUS character
Everytime I watch an episode, even an old one, when it's over I go clean, declutter and organize my house. I honestly don't understand how a person's house can get so far gone.
Yes, indeed😸 . Keeps me cleaning out & checking for more items to find new homes for. I collect...space, these days. Hoarders don't start out to hoard.
It is a mental disease. 😢
you can't argue with a brain disorder
Time !
Usually depression
This is how hoarders should be. He didn't keep much.
Idk if you understand how deep and intense people's hoarding tendencies are, it's a mental illness more than anything and there's no 'right' way.
@@sassybatchz ty nice to see someone gets it
Good for him. Hope he continues with aftercare and family support, it's easy to slip backwards.
Are you kidding?? Rats and junk ! Are most of them depressed? What can cause this .
Pat Wats you can go train to be a psychiatrist or psychologist once you master basic sentences.
He is so sweet, you can tell that he didn’t want to be a hoarder he just didn’t have the means to dispose of things once it reached that point. He was so easy and willing to get rid of things
Y’all, it’s powdered milk.
🤢🤢🤮
I feel cheated 😐
i wish it was liquid so we could see it pour out like butter
Powdered milk gets like concrete when it is old. I remember my mom, during WWII, using a hammer to break up our powdered milk ration.
Katherine G wow
One of the few hoarders who realize that they have a problem and need help.
What I liked about John is he accepted professional help and worked to make his situation better instead of fighting and going into denial like so many other hoarders on this show do
Bless all the ppl who do these clean outs
I like these episodes..with little resistance from the hoarder
Of course we like easy, smooth, situations, but that's not reality.
@@cheezheadz3928 It was for this lady. So I guess it was her reality 👍
It’s rare, but it does happen! It makes the job easier & go faster.
They cut all the resisting for times sake on these before and after
@@beckerickson8034 they dont on the others so why would they here?
How tf do you have 40 year old milk?!?! Milk so old it’s disco dancin 😂😂
LMAO 🎆✨🕺💃
seriously, after 40 years wouldnt any milk turn into some other type of food? not sure which but like butter or cream cheese or yogurt? he must have froze it or something..
BTW, I didnt watch the video and I don't plan too becsuse i lived with an extremely bad hoarder (my stepdad; if he had his way and my mom didn't put her foot down on areas where he could hoard and areas where he couldn't, lir whole entire house growing up would have looked way worse than most of what I've seen on hoarders) for close to 15 years. I watched it when it first came out and every once in a while but it typically just brings back bad memories
For those of you who didn't look clearly....it was prepper milk. Long-life powdered milk specially processed and packaged for long term storage.... Many companies make milk and foods specifically for emergency situations, the last YEARS!!!! So no, might not be something everyone has, but actually good when used within it's time period, which is usually around 25 years storage. Good for when a hurricane, tornado, etc hits and electrical is off, or you can't get to stores for food. Usually keep huge bottles or barrels of potable water, too, and a small generator and cooker to run off it.
It's Mountain House and that is packaged to last 25 to 30 years depending on how it is stored.
Just saying 40 years ago was just pre disco wasn't it. Gawd what an awful time for music.
It’s nice to see someone be great full for once instead of arguing and crying
He looks like what I imagine Brad Pitt looking like when he gets older.
🙌 yes
Yep!
Very good looking man
you can definitely tell he was a conventionally good looking man when he was younger, and he still looks good now
As someone who went through something similar, he isn't really a hoarder. Hoarders have a level of attachment to the trash in their house, this man didn't seem to have any real attachment to anything they threw away. Most likely just depression and living by himself caused it. Can't find the motivation to clean and you don't have anyone else to keep the house clean for, so you just let trash start to pile. The piled up trash then just continues to add to your depression, and eventually you reach a point where it seems insurmountable so you just give up and accept walking through it. The level of happiness you feel when you see all of the trash gone and completely clean house is indescribable, it's literally a feeling of "This is a chance to start over and be a better person". Unfortunately, cleaning in itself rarely solves the core of the problem and I'm pretty certain his house will be completely trashed again by the end of the year.
he was a hoarder
@@marylevin9262 The thing that makes him different is he was able to throw things away without much of a fuss.
@@marylevin9262 I agree!
He seemed to really want to make progress.
I think this guy may succeed because he was willing to get rid of everything. He realized that with the rats, he had to. A lot of people don't. He's also got a good family and a girlfriend that are very supportive. That, along with the contractors that are going to be coming in, he may just have a chance.
Blow me down John has a girlfriend JANET??? Am just shocked.
Check out Matt Paxton's RUclips. He explains a lot about the Hoarders and really cares about them.
Janet didn't know about the hoard. She had never been in the house before. He wanted it clean so Janet could move in, but she didn't know if she would.
@@acacialane8367 Thanks for the info.
Janet did say she thought the cleaned house looked amazing and she couldn't believe how they got it to that point from the way it looked a week ago, plus her comments about the kitchen, so it sounds like she may have seen it hoarded - just before the big clean-up.
Yeppers ,what I want to know is her AGE. When, where and how they met.🤔🙄😲🤦🤷
40 year old milk brought me here was disappointed to see it wasn't evaporated lol
I watch hoarders when I need to deep clean my apartment..I clean it every day but when I want to deep clean I hesitate then I watch this show and yep it gets cleaned
He has such a great smile! Congratulations John!
thank you so much for posting these to watch for free! it really helps me get motivated to clean my room and better myself.
Very disappointed, they said they’d get a bee keeper but ended up just spraying and killing them.
I know, that sucked.
No idea when this was filmed, but there are now some africanized honey bees (a.k.a. killer bees) in California. Killer bees are nigh impossible to re-tame, and they're spreading from the southern parts of America. This hive was not africanized, but it's not easy to tell the difference. Also, bear in mind that North America does not need the invasive honey bees that were brought here by European hostiles. There were native pollinators here before they came over. One exterminated hive isn't gonna destroy the environment.
@@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 Exactly, and thank you! Our neighborhood was invaded by those bees, they killed and/or drove off the local bees, and they would attack people and pets for no reason. I remember standing at our back door, looking out the window, holding my dog (who couldn't understand why she couldn't go out, and had to use puppy pads inside) and those bees would dive-bomb my face as if they thought they could break the glass. Creepy AF!
We all had to stay inside until they were eradicated by professionals. Now, fortunately, our good normal bees are back and thriving.
His smile was my dose of seratonin for today
Whenever someone’s at his house he should’ve yelled “YOU SHALL NOT PASS!” as he’s looking quite a lot like Gandalf 😋
That mismatched toilet seat is making my OCD twitch.
Amen! An easy fix.😸
I saw that!
Yes! For Pete's sake! Run to Wal-Mart or Lowe's and buy a seat that fits!!!
I honestly think senior citizens need a studio home complex so they won't be lonely 😕. Senior citizens homes are so expensive
When he finally started smiling, you could see how handsome John is!
There is something about John that melted my heart within a couple minutes❤️
lovin his smile when they reveal his new place
Why didn't they replace that toilet seat with one that fit?
That should be within the capabilities of Janet, his able bodied girlfriend or his equally able adult daughters.
Said the house has to get renovated still
I like these episodes when the hoarder actually owns up to their problem and is willing to change
Aww this guy was my favorite!
He wasnt argumentitive , he really just wanted a better life for himself 💙
I liked this episode so much. They basically throw away everything,it was pretty fun to watch as a minimalist
F the killing of the bees, vs actual collection by a professional keeper
A hoarder who isn't 300 pounds? I am at a loss....
God bless him and everyone that helps this show
I always love their reactions, and I enjoy his smile. Even if he was a hoarder I wanna give him a hug just because I’m that proud of him. He seems like such a genuine guy and this just proved it. I LIVE FOR HIS WILLINGNESS ♥️
Such a beautiful little home! I adore the arched doorway. Just charming! I hope he keeps it up.
This is the first episode I've ever seen that the guy didn't think that his trash was gold and just let them help him.
One of my favorite ones. He just let them throw the junk away and clean it. Wishing him and his family well.
I immediately feel so bad for him 😢
I love the little details in this house, like the brick around the doorways
I would be so terrified of living in a house infested with rats
All the hard work is so worth it just seeing the people smile again is amazing
Why did you guys not call an actual bee keeper and not a exterminator? Pollinators are more important that old junk.
“I’ve got some things hoarded here” - understatement of the year!
They should have reloacted the bees instead of killing them
Yeah, that makes NO SENSE to me.
Yeah.... that was NOT a bee keeper! That was an exterminator. Terrible choice the show made!
One of the most successful/impressive eps.
I recently had to clean out my garage due to a mouse infestation. It made the clear out really simple, nthankfully. As I didn't know what the mice had urinated on and what they hadnt, it all went. I couldn't be sentimental, and that made it a lot easier for me.
Sorry you had to loose your stuff! I think mice are cute but not when they're in your house running everywhere
@@klairdelun456 luckily, they didn't come near the house. I have two cats. The mice just stayed in the garage. My house backs onto open fields and the mice were tiny, so I think they were field mice. Super cute! But, better in the fields. I ended up putting my cats used cat litter in the garage and the mice left, because they don't like the ammonia. I wouldn't have killed them.
@@itsacarolbthing5221 I have 3 cats and they hunt and bring dead things back to me as gifts. I appreciate the gesture but dont like the fact that they're killing pretty birds
john is so cute and kind - his family is blessed 💙
Poor old man. Just tired and worn out.
Awwww, I wish the full episode was on here!
It was on cable last night, full episode.
Just pull it up in YT's search engine.
Netflix has it. Only about $7.99 / month. There is one free site that has it, but it won't post on youtube. You can figure it out.
He didn't protest much when they were throwing things out, I was worried that he had just given up. In the end he was smiling so much I hope he gets his house nice again.
That's a beautiful home
I think I’ll go have me a glass of milk.
Aww he looks so happy
A BB gun will not kill a rat. You need something with at least 7lbs per foot energy. A BB gun has at most 1-3lbs/foot
Mess like this gives me so much anxiety 😂
Me too and I was raised by a hoarder.
@@katherineg5946 😞 I'm sorry that must have been hard
@@angelinasmith6307 it still affects me. If one of my sons comes home and messes up my clean and neat home I get flash backs. (One did, stayed, and does.)
Me too. I'm such a clean freak, just a few dishes in the sink makes me flip lol
@@MilkandCookies92 I have even woken up out of a dead sleep in the middle of the night found out my kitchen wasn't cleaned after dinner and I'll clean right then and there
Wow, with all THAT milk way past their expiration dates, that certifies as a biohazard, and even a normal cleaning team couldn't bear to step in with that sour smell.
I love when there’s a happy ending to stories like this.
I wanted to see the milk be poured out :(
It was powdered long life milk for emergencies. Didn't need to be poured out.
@@anitacraighead7038 But still. A&E should be better than clickbait titles.
if it was liquid milk it probably would come out in like 2 giants blocks like butter
Me too! It was just powdered milk
People seem so surprised that the milk was powdered. There is no such thing as 40 year old milk in a jug. It would have exploded 39 and a half years ago.
Love the diagonal wood finish. So retro
To all you bots in the comments you will get reported
Ah, Scooby, Do be a good lad now. 😻😸😁
Kritikitti you to 😊
Hippity hoppity bot comments went offity
Dander woolf 😂😂
I read that as “you will get raped.” I was like 😱
My first husband's family owned the most successful plumbing company in Tampa. They were millionaires. They had a million dollar house on the lake. Not one sink had pipes. It all went into a bucket that had to be dumped. Craziest thing I have ever seen.
It’s so weird that the last few episodes I’ve watched involved a man who was an architect, a contractor and now John, the maintenance man-all were involved with the upkeep of buildings.
John seems like such a lovely man. I hope he’s able to find a sense of peace within himself now
I’m so glad they posted another video that went into more details with Cory. It answered my question about the rats.
They probably should’ve combined the two
It's absolutely wonderful what you people do for these hoarders. Your level of understanding has no bounds nor limitations. May The Good Lord Jesus bless you all.
That dodge stealth RT is worth some money. I hope it found a good home.
I've watched many of these programs, and really feel for this man. So very sad.
Is this hoarding or just neglect? I don't see any "collections", which are typical for hoarders. All I see is dirt.
@MaximusG6 I don't think it's hoarding. But it's some type of mental problem. I tend to go all over the place myself. I've been somewhat of a neatfreak for many years and all of a sudden a mess for a few years. Now I'm trying to gain my home back and get rid of this mess. On down the road of life I have a feeling it will be a mess again but I pray it won't. I have had mental issues all my life.
Hoarding doesn't mean they have "collections", it means a person has trouble letting go of things, whether that be something of value or even garbage.
@@sarahwaters8262 ty
It's real talk when she said people dont wanna do their jobs at home. I knew a couple maids who were hoarders.
*GOT MILK?* 🥛
A&E: NO
it’s him shooting the rats with a bebe gun for me😭
Lol It’s him having a girlfriend for me
😂
He didn't even try to argue with them.😂
When I saw this episode the first time, I just wanted to jump on a plane and go there and start renovating!!! Some carpets, paint etc. and that house would be sooo nice!!!!
I love John's smile.
His house cleaned up nicely. John had the biggest smile on his face!
He looks younger at the end looking at his cleaned house. What an amazing ending for the house and him!
A beautiful clean for John. Just love it as always.
I would get fired because I could not clean up no house with rats. Bugs are bad enough.
When I hear "Defund The Police" which gets some people over wrought I have to shake my head. John is a classic case where some of that money should go social programs such as Adult Protective Services and find a senior supervised home instead of allowing them to live in such filth and allowing neighbors to have an eyesore around them.
This man looked like a completely different person after the clean up! I love it.
GIve that old milk to the guy in utube, he'll open it and drink it for ya'll....
Lol I know who you’re talking about
MRE Steve1989?
Samantha Behling skippy62able is who he’s talking about
@@imcrux6583 lol LA beast no doubt would
People don't stop and think that every time they do a hoarding clean up, they removed upwards of 8-10 tons of trash. And where does that trash go? To the landfills. Every landfill in Ca must be full by now. :(
It ends up also in the oceans
That house is really cute! Hope it got updated and he got moved back in!! How nice!! He looks so happy!
This show makes me keep my space clean LOL
The rats are so cute tho ❤️🥺
I absolutely love that wood wall at @7:41. What a cool feature!
I loved that brick archway into kitchen I think. Hope they continue with progress.
I need the full episode! I NEED MOAR HOARD! **twitches**
I always wonder what the Dr's & organizer's houses look like...
The smile on his face makes it worth it 🥺
