    Ben was fast. He was small enough where his lateral movement would make his defense so valuable. He could close out and still get the rebound. He could patrol the paint and still make the shooter pay.

    Being from Detroit, went to 2 of the 2004 home finals games. I was like 13-14 years old. This era of the pistons was everything i loved about basketball. Hard. Tough. Defense FIRST. and playing as a unit even with the bench. Ben was the player I wanted to be. Absolute DOG. I love when the sports team embrace toughness and defense. That's real grit to me. Holding a Kobe and Shaq led Lakers team to like 60 points in a finals game is way more impressive than a team putting up 140 pts IMO.

    Ben is the exact center teams in todays game need lol he’s an amazing defender that can defend multiple positions, can block and rebound, and runs the floor.
    He would easily average 15+ rebs and 2-3 blocks in todays game. He was averaging double digit rebounds in an era full of bigs.

      Hell cover the paint and force him to shoot mid range to long balls which he was trash at. Kinda simple actually Ben was really only a defender and rebounder he was a putrid scorer. So if you force him to take his shots while limiting his opportunities of doing what hes best at to where he's uncomfortable I think he'd be exposed.

      That Detroit team was allowed to play under an entirely different set of rules than the rest of the league for 2 years. Go back and watch some games. They were committing assault for 48 minutes a game. I'm not saying they weren't good, but the officiating was a MAJOR part of their success.

      How half teams average 50 or less. Memphis is best rebounding team and they get 60 that's it. Solid rebounder with great effort Ben was but he wasn't rodman and neither averaged 20 a game.

    Straight monster. Rim protector , at the top of the list rebounder , fear the fro!!! but the thing that made him different was his leadership. He don’t get enough credit. One of the best to ever do it no doubt In my mind !! Deeeeeetroooooooiiiiiiiitttttttttt

    Idk about 50 but he'd average double digit points, like between 20-40 Rebounds, at least 4blks and like 3 steals. He'd score a lot more from Oops and put backs no doubt!
