In the Racekraft V8 Vets Championship finale, Mike Talijancich (#21) has to pass Riki Hyde (#031) in order to win the championship. Funnily enough, I could never make that move into turn 1 in the week leading up to the race. At the start of this video I am letting MT through because I was just happy to get my first ever top 10 finish in split 1. However in a split second decision when MT got loose into turn 1 I said oh what the heck, let’s see how far we can race the champion elect, and it was a fun 4 laps. Sadly I couldn’t hear the commentator in my headphones so it wasn’t very exciting, I was actually singing a song in my head at the time, some 90s/2000s pop hit or something. And FYI I had no idea who MT was and what he was racing for, so I’m glad I didn’t bump him. True story.
