One of the best Iracing broadcasts I have seen. Great to know someone who seems to have achieved fun and success without getting caught in hardware chase. He has a great interview personality.
Then we have people who spend several thousands of dollars on their racing rigs, but won't spend a couple of hundred on iRacing to be able to use it properly...
My iRacing career started on mouse and keyboard, and in my first month, managed to rack up 4 wins on rookie oval. Because of financial reasons, I only subscribed for a month at that time, but by the time I came back, I had a non-force feedback wheel, and I don't remember how many more wins I got after that, but that helped me become more consistent and what brought me out of the Rookie series.
As someone who ran in rFactor NASCAR leagues on controller and even won a championship throphy through it, i never thought i could replicate that over on iRacing. This gives me hope
I do agree with Juan that the more powerful cars on short tracks are the hardest challenge on controller. It gets easier with practice but it's still challenging
i play on a controller too....and like this guy i have no choice but to use a controller i just started but i got out of rookie with in a few races....no i dont have 500 ir but im working on up and its hard but for me i love iracing so much that im willing to use my controller and do what i have to to play this awesome sim
Juan was part of my leagues that I was in for the fall/winter and he won the league. We were all shocked when we found out he was on controller. Super impressive Juan!
I did rookies-D class on controller before I finally got a wheel. I won 20+ races before upgrading, though am also not at the 4k ceiling for irating, but the things he says are still on point to my experience.
Congrats Juan! I'll keep saying your setup and performance are hugely inspirational. Sub-optimal gear doesn't have to hold you back and as long as you have fun and stay persistent.
Similar to how i started. Got up to 3600 Oval irating on controller and on a laptop without a dedicated GPU. Have dropped 1k ir since i came back in March but I fluctuate between 2650 and 3000 every week.
I work overseas so traveling with a wheel is a bit obnoxious and have held off on getting into iRacing... I'm almost half tempted to give it a go since I have a gaming laptop and controller I travel with.
I have a wheel but only really use it for AC. I don’t know why, but using a controller for stock car racing in NR2003 (both on ovals and road courses) just feels easier to me
I haven’t even started watching the video, I have a g920 tlcm pedals now a mount and I’m trying to get back up to 2k this man is a pro on controller AM I NOT GOOD AT ANYTHING 😂
Note I did get in a 2.2k SOF for my first race at pocono and usually (xfinity only one I’ve tried) I suck at pocono and burn off the tires within 4 laps this Arca setup was a blast has only fell off maybe .800 and finished 3rd started somehwere outside the top 10 I think 11th-14th not exactly sure been a day or so but if I had 5 more laps I was catching the leaders
Hey, I am also playing on a ps4 controller. I’ve just picked up iRacing but don’t get any vibration from my controller no matter what I do(on F1 23 and 24 it works normally) any ideas why that might be?
My fondest memory of Juan is when he had beef with me in a league called OCS, to a point where he intent wrecked me at Nashville in the ARCA cars in officials. Such a good clean and fair driver😊
It's got nothing to do with NOT affording a wheel, I simply don't want one because they are noisy and take too much room. And I don't want to sit in a freaking racing sim seat when I want to play civilization. Surely if I could afford $2k GPU for my PC, I can afford at least decent wheel. I often play after work, between midnight and 3am. I have a wife and family, I want to keep it quiet at night. And I enjoy playing games on controller. I play flight aims too, so should I now go out and purchase whole get up for that?
Does he want a wheele....I stared on a controller to see if I was gonna stay In Iracing...but I knew I had to have a wheele...see yall in discord...good job controller guy
As a controller player myself I actually think ovals are harder than circuits. Holding a sustained large radius turn on a thumbstick is super hard and a big strain on the thumb. Shorter road course turns where you are only leaning on the stick for a shorter period I find much easier.
As celebration for his accomplishment, let's buy him a wheel.
I'm in
Where do I send the $$?
A used g29 is only 200....I say we do it justin
Yea I'm in
I’m down
Juan is genuinely one of the most impressive drivers I've seen since I joined iRacing and is such a good dude.

with how expensive iRacing is, I think what is more surprising is that he could afford iRacing but not a wheel.
@@f3rny_66only on the sub, content still the same price
When I started I spent around $150 for the tracks and certain cars I wanted
@@f3rny_66 I'm not sure if it does anymore. My friends have argentina accounts but it still makes them pay on iRacing at US prices
Then we have people who spend several thousands of dollars on their racing rigs, but won't spend a couple of hundred on iRacing to be able to use it properly...
Bro's a legend. I tried to qualify for a rFactor race on a controller and it was hella hard.
Que grande Juan🐎

Great job Juan, VERY impressive stuff! 🤘
juan seems like an awesome dude. great interview!
hes give me memories i start too in oval wit a controller and a Laptop but reach 5k in one year congratz 💪
Congrats Juan, a very cool dude
I'm playing assetto corsa on controller right now, it's hard, and I was thinking about IRacing! I'm surprised someone have done this, congrats!
i found 193 map range helps on entry turn in speed. slows the cut inward . 180 cut in to fast and drives to far on the apron
Maybe they should've had Juan pilot the Titan submersible
Somebody gift this man a sim rig
Super happy for juan. Such a good guy and fun guy to race with. Super aggressive and ive mentioned that to him before but always enjoy racing with him
Easily your all-time best video.
Similar to how i started. Got up to 3600 Oval irating on controller and on a laptop without a dedicated GPU.

Very inspiring hearing this but at the same time makes me feel like s*** for having a wheel and pedals and still sucking😂
Wow I had no idea he was on controller, very impressive
There's a road racer called Phil Reid i think who is on controller and is around 6k, he races F3 and other difficult cars too,
If Juan was driving that titanic sub they wouldn’t be missing… just sayin
It’s certainly possible, Dustin Novoa reached 7500 oval iRating racing on a PlayStation controller on a lazy boy
i remember racing on controller, but that’s just INSANE 😳
I know a 4.3k guy on controller. They’re built different
That’s insane! I’m on wheel and it’s taken me 6 months to crack 2300 oval ir
I played iracing on a controller
It's hard as hell and using control freak cushions is a must!
Watching this after I lost my A license with load cell pedals hits different.
Juan deserves a nice setup. Some popular RUclipsr should finance a setup for him (a PC too, what is that laptop even)
I used to use mouse for steering before I got wheel, during that time my focus was to not loose a lot of SR lol
I work overseas so traveling with a wheel is a bit obnoxious and have held off on getting into iRacing... I'm almost half tempted to give it a go since I have a gaming laptop and controller I travel with.
late to this vid but i was at 5200 at 1 point on controller(disability). Cool to see more drivers do this well.
Someone get this man a gaming PC!
And here I am having just spent around 2k and can’t make a lap in the dirt street stock lmao
If this gets 15 likes, Justin has to upload daily videos till the end of august
Does he stream? I'd watch that.
ANOTHER DOMINICAN 5K OVAL IRACER 🇩🇴
Me and Juan got 5K almost back to back lmao
Congrats!
@@DJYeeJayThanks man!
Wouldn’t have been able to do it without you guys and of course AJ lol!

Good stuff!
He could’ve saved that submarine
I’m literally 2k with a wheel and then there’s juan with with 5k on controller…
I have the same setup as him, just the highest I've reached in about 2000ir
Also about 2000 peak on road
Lol I’m using a controller rn just to learn gonna get a wheel soon when I have dough set aside
And been doing it for a year - on a laptop with minimal settings. I’m embarrassed when I look at my setup.

I'm just @ 3k with my NegCon
Does he make content I would love to watch him
VAMOSSSS AMIGOOOO 🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
Juan and AJ, 1v1, for the true title of Controller King.
Ez for Juan
Hey, I am also playing on a ps4 controller. I’ve just picked up iRacing but don’t get any vibration from my controller no matter what I do(on F1 23 and 24 it works normally) any ideas why that might be?
Did he ever get a wheel cause I have a T150 just sitting
My fondest memory of Juan is when he had beef with me in a league called OCS, to a point where he intent wrecked me at Nashville in the ARCA cars in officials. Such a good clean and fair driver😊
Man I have been doing this hoping to be the first 😂
I used to do this until I got my wheel lmao I already had practice from nr2003
Schildhouse?! Where is he?!
Great, now I feel like an even bigger loser.
nahhh hes definitely an outlier
I have a 4600 and never touched a wheel.

Better then 85 percent of the iracers ig I see why this game isn’t good rn
Nah I race him a lot he just got that speed at certain tracks
I do road races on controller
How is he #48 on an official race that got him 5k irating though? Isnt that unofficial?
Graphics settings "Hide car numbers" ans you can use custom #'s
start a go fund me for this kid CAMMUS C5/CP5 $300 Bundle!

Hey DJ love the video but take a page out of Pat McAfee book and FaceTime the person so we can see you both!
Juan preferred not to be on camera I always ask first
im at 4k on mouse and keyboard
🧐
@@GavinRopchan I’m built different
Oh, on oval. A lot less impressive but still good!
It’s honestly just as impressive, he does things on controller I didn’t think were possible as an oval driver
Are you saying that oval is easy or that oval is easiest if you're on a controller? Maybe the second part is right but the first isn't.
As a controller player myself I actually think ovals are harder than circuits. Holding a sustained large radius turn on a thumbstick is super hard and a big strain on the thumb. Shorter road course turns where you are only leaning on the stick for a shorter period I find much easier.
@danielsquillace5291 thanks for the response, that actually makes a lot of sense. So guess OP is wrong on both counts then.
@@danielsquillace5291 Maybe, but that's because on a normal track you'd be a few seconds faster with a wheel
isn´t that hard, on nascar (online drive in a cyrcle). try it with the GT3 tracks!
I'd argue you can't afford iracing anyways if you can't afford a wheel😂
Controller+promo membership is a great way to decide if you want to go all in though
@@DJYeeJay true, never thought of it as a trial run lol
I was about to be impressed..... until i saw it was on oval...
Some might say he's.....JUAN IN A MILLION.... i'll leave now.
