I would add Ludwig and…Rom. Yes, Rom, vacuous spider. She is Atlas of Bloodborne, as she tried to keep world safe from blood moon ritual. Also Sir Alonne, because he helped weak king with his service and trained his knights, who still respect him as they protect him, and after witnessing corruption of his king, he left him Lorian Elder Prince is also a hero, as he killed Demon Prince who could restore Chaos Flame and protected his younger brother and shared a curse with him. Also Lady Tomoe from Sekiro, because obvious reasons.
Sir Alonne and Fume Knight. Also Burnt Ivory King has the best intro scene in the entire souls series rivaled may with Nameless King. The way the gate rises above and he starts sprinting towards you like he has a score to settle. Pretty much the same with Nameless King in his second phase when he starts walking towards you menacingly. I wish they hadn't made the rest of the game so hard and frustrating.
Great video, but personally, I think Miquella would have fit in the list. First, he's an extremely powerful demi-god, a master magician (he invented multiple powerful golden order funtamentalist incantations) and a talented craftsman (he created works of art such as Malenia's prosthesis, the pulley crossbow, which is the most powerful crossbow in the game btw, the Golden Epitaph, and the unalloyed gold needles that are so powerful that they can ward off Outer Gods' meddling, and even cure it, and also). He's even revered as another deity, St.Trina, who controls potent sleep magic capable of charming even bosses. But most importantly, he is kind of the embodiment of kindness and benevolence in my opinion, but it seems like in the DLC we'll learn about a darker side of his character... But yeah in the meantime he's like the most compelling character in all of Elden Ring (apart from Alexander and Boc, obviously). Even then, out of all the shardbearers, Miquella and Malenia are the ones with the best intentions and actions : Godrick hunts and grafts people in a pointless search for power, Morgott clings to a dying order of racist enslavers, Rennala is... Rennala, Ranni literally caused the end of the world, and Mogh is a disgusting freak. So in comparison, even if Miquella is kind of shady, or if he uses peole or whatever, I think I'd still root for him since he offers a safe haven to all those rejected and forsaken by the Golden Order, and strives to find a cure to his twin sister's condition and also bring peace to his older brother Godwin (the golden epitaph reads : "Oh Brother, Lord Brother, please die a true death")... And even as St.Trina, he brings respite and peaceful dreams to the suffering and the tormented, even quelling the nightmares brought by the flame of frenzy (but I think that's cut content). Not to mention he is probably the one who helps us the most during our adventure : I believe he is Torrent's former master, and as such, he's the one who told Melina to give us the spectral ring whistle (that he created, since it's made out of unalloyed gold, and is also the work of a great craftsman), and he's also the one who sent Ranni to give us the spirit calling bell (evidenced by the fact that Miquella has a strong connection to spirits, since he's Torrent former master, and also by by the fact that when Ranni appears in the church of Elleh, Kalé and his dokey are put to sleep with St.Trina's magic, who is quasi-confirmed to be Miquella's alter-ego). Anyway I can't wait for the DLC and sorry for the long post. :)

Finlay from Elden is a neat one. She carried her leader from Caelid all the way to the tree. If she took the conventional route we took, she'd have to go around Stormveil, near the swamp, to LEYNDELL, all the way to the land of the giants before making it to the tree. MVP
I’m sorry but finlay is the most heroic individual in the series when her heroic act is put into perspective. Finlay walked through the swamp of aeonia, limgrave, liurnia, dectus lift, part of Altus, leyndell, forbidden lands, and consecrated snowfield while carrying a sleeping Malenia and fending off enemies of all kind while also likely inflicted with rot. Also it’s possible that she didn’t take dectus and instead took ruin strewn precipice which means she went through even more of Altus. Remeber this took place during the shattering, in a time where anyone would see a sleeping demigod and would attack and try to kill the demigod and Finlay fought ALL of them off single handedly. Imagine walking through the whole map with scarlet rot, no torrent, no running, no fast travel, no flask or incants that cure rot, and enemy agro increased. That experience would be what Finlay went through
Gwyndolin is a fascinating character to discuss. On the one hand, he is the rejected son of Gwyn, but also the last deity to keep watch over Anor Londo. On the other hand... he's a deceiver, a manipulator, and a defender of Gwyn's curse of the Darksign. I consider him equal parts hero and villain.
Great video, i got a surge of goosebumps with each little story And that art of Morgott at the start of his segment is awesome. I love the idea of using his great rune as a halo
It’s worth mentioning that the story of the abysswalker was a lie created by ciaran. It is said that artorias destroyed the abyss and manus, repelled the dark wraiths of new londo. When in actuality, you did that.
We only did the first thing, there's no evidence that your time in New Londo is set in the past. So while he didn't kill Manus, there's no evidence Artorias didn't repel the dark wraiths long enough for New Londo to be flooded
Shame Radahn didn't make the list. He saved the cities of Caelid and protected the world from the powers of the Outer Gods by holding back the stars themselves. He was the opposite of Morgott, he wanted to become Lord and help the realm and its people. Even after becoming a mindless monster, he kept the stars at bay. He was a true hero.
Not a """"true"""" soul games but Bloodborne has a lot of chill people for such a dark game The first that comes to mind is Eileen, and she only turns mad because of someone that isn't out of control, she just needs one good friend (us) to stay sane. Hell, taking the risk of going mad to save many is pretty heroic Gherman, Maria and Logarius locked themselves up to either protect a dangerous secret or give guidance Valtr is a cool guy too. He isn't completely sane but he fights for a good cause and is mostly a positive entity. He is also a hero to all Str/Arcane players that want an early Holy Moonlight Sword :)) And of course, the original Iosefka
Slave Knight Gael easily takes the cake for the sheer scale of his undertaking, and one of the few hero's who succeed completely, if the hints are true, the dark souls pigment world is free from the failings of the Dark Souls world.
One happy note at the end of morgotts life. Upon his defeat to you his horns are removed. The curse lifted by the erdtree. Further proof is when he dies he evaporates into grace that points Godfrey to you
I love these videos, awesome lore, just a quick tip. You say "Refugee" instead of "Refuge". Refugee is the word for someone who is seeking safe haven, a Refuge is that safe haven, pronounced without the "e" at the end. I don't mean to be pedantic, I've subscribed for these dope videos!
I am surprised that no one from Demon's Souls made the list, not even an honorable mention. Would have figured Biorr, of the Twin Fangs, Ostrava, of Boletaria, or Old King Doran would have been a shoe in.
13:44 it’s never actually stated it was a young radahn, this was radahn at the shattering which was the same event that he went mad due to scarlet rot (but before going mad) which can really show the strength of morgott (even if he was concealing his powers at the time)
It's not a fact that Loretta was an Albunauric, it's her shield that spawned a rumor that she was one, because it supposedly depicts this dew of life. Even the shield calls this an "absurd rumor". It calls the rumor absurd, which certainly implies that it's false, but it's not impossible that she really was an albunauric. Her finding and going to the Haligtree implies that she might be one, but it might also just mean that she empathises with their existance.
Juno Hoslow definitely deserves a nod here, his story and how he wants to protect Diallos from the burden of killing is heartbreaking. He is a one man army, probably one of the most proficient characters lore-wise the player runs into. He loves Diallos for his kindness and doesn't want him to become a killer like him. It's why he carries two whips; he is carrying the burden of his brother for him so he doesn't have to lose his kindness. He gets called to the Lands Between but essentially gives up killing because he doesn't like doing it anymore and he holes himself up in the mountaintops. Volcano Manor calls him but he basically flips them the double bird. Sadly his story ends here when you kill him after Volcano Manor sends you after him. I wish Juno got to see Diallos defend Jarburg; Diallos' heart let him finally be his own warrior in the end, not a heartless killing machine but a protector. I bet Juno would have loved that for him
"Aah, you were at my side, all along." Picks up swords "My true mentor... My guiding moonlight..." Assumes knightly stance despite monstrous visage. -Ludwig, the Holy Blade
So glad the Ivory King of DS2 is getting hi proper respects here. Easily one of the coolest dudes in Soulsborne lore. Also one of yhe weapons literally says that he started out as a typical soldier that worked his way up to the title of Monarch because he used to be one of the best soldiers who was always yhe first in battle or something to that effect. God, when I read all the items descriptions about him I just thought he was the coolest.
I forget if Gehrman did anything dubious, but he stays the host of the hunters dream and mercy kills all the other hunters to spare them from the unending purgatory of it after they complete their journey. It turn, keeping himself locked in the dream forever. Not to mention setting a precedent for hunters.
Tarnished Elden Lord, we who felled Gods, stood tall against cosmic eldritch horrors, demons, even fate itself. I get that we become a god almost every game but we become a God of Gods in Elden ring.
@@UsualMoth he's still selfless and tragic because he wants to make a better world and had to give up everything to become a god but yeah he dont deserve his spot here at all😭😭
Is a characters heroism determined by their strength, or by their actions, because if it is the latter, Solaire not being on the list and near the top is a tragedy. The guy literally just gives you multiplayer and helps because its a nice thing to do. He's also powerful because of his own strength, his weapons and armor are not magical in any way, Solaire is powerful because he's Solaire.
I respect Morgott but 1. The painting depicting him fighting Radahn shows then surrounded by the battle. So he wasn't soloing the redmains. 2. More importantly, it was most likely Morgott who ordered the attack on Mount Gelmir. The large part of forces of Leyndell growing weak is him throwing them against a mountain because he, as a zealout, couldn't tolerate the existence of blasphemy.
Artorias sacrificed himself to save his wolf after failing his mission. Gwyn sacrificed himself to save his entire race and history of the world from fading away. Moreover, Gwyn did that after giving part of his soul to humans who eventually betrayed him. Don't get me wrong, linking the fire definitely goes against the rules of dark souls universe but Gwyn isn't portrayed to be nearly as much evil as the community tends to believe and there are many false accusations about him going on. And yet Artorias, who was one of Gwyn's most loyal subordinates, is believed to be the biggest hero figure and genuinely good character. This is something I'll just never understand.
Gwyn was actually the top villain of the other video and I totally agree with it. Mass murder, genocide, enslavement, brainwashing, child abuse, abuse of power, cursing an entire race and then exploiting them, being evil is just a hobby for Gwyn.
Another weird thing is that people overlook Gwyn as a father figure. I mean, it is stated in game that he shared part of his power with his children and that Filianore was his beloved daughter and she hoped that he will return. People assume that Godfrey loved Morgott even though he also left him because of affection shown in cutscene. Nameless King also showed a respect as a final farewell, meaning while he did disagree with his father, he did not hate him. I am not saying that he is good father, I am just saying he is better than many people think he is
@@laurencevicar5798 Gwyn forced Gwyndolin to live as a daughter because he was born to the moonlight rather than sunlight. Also pretty sure it was Gwyn who banished the nameless king for siding with the dragons. He abandoned Filianore at the end of the world to contain the pygmies, such that people didn't even seem to know she existed
@@Bob-jh6xt we still don't know much about Artorias as a person tho. He belonged to the god race and so was dependent on fire just like Gwyn himself and both had interest in subduing the dark. So saying that he secretly didn't approve of Gwyn's actions while working under his rule is kinda silly. Btw I'm not trying to make Artorias dirty or anything
Gwyn wasn't inherently evil but his actions are epitome are "some of the worst acts are done with the best of intentions". And that's the cardinal sin pride. That makes Gwyn a villain comprehensively. He didn't try to understand the wider picture and let the natural cycle continue. He had his run.

@@bajscast The path to hell is paved with good intentions, as they say. The point is, before he lost his mind entirely, he was a noble and kind warrior. And if Artorias can make the list, and his only in-game appearance is just as mindless as main-game Rahdan, surely our boy Rahdan should have too.
I think nameless king was exiled by gwyn before he linked the first flame
Ya that’s also what I heard. I feel like it make more sense too, having nameless king actually being on the king of the gods and getting banish by lesser gods dosen’t seam right to me. Your telling me that the strongest god, actual heir to the throne and whit a personal army which is loyal to him, this guy’s whit everything to win got kick out because of one unpopular decision. I don’t believe it
He left his ring on his father's coffin as farewell. If Gwyn exiled him: 1) why wouldn't NK give it to him directly as a statement? 2) Why would Gwyn already have a coffin when he wasn't planning to go away yet?
@@elias.t are you talking about ds3 in irithyll or am I missing something from the first game?
@@kamprouristheoharis8458 the description of the sunlight blade from DS1. I misremembered it as the ring.
"When the eldest son was stripped of his deific status, he left this on his father's coffin, perhaps as a final farewell."
@@elias.t yeah that makes sense
We could say Aldia is in someway also a hero. His whole mission was to break the curse, and he failed. He still tried to break the curse even as a immortal head. He did some fcked up shit but it was not with bad intentions. He maybe not the purest soul but not one of the evil either
Hell is paved with good intentions.
not true mate, most villain kill for the greater good, but they still massacre a lot of people. aldia just want to overcome death and hollowing. he wish to rid himself of the curse, not for others but for him. he's a mad scientist.
Finlay from Elden is a neat one. She carried her leader from Caelid all the way to the tree. If she took the conventional route we took, she'd have to go around Stormveil, near the swamp, to LEYNDELL, all the way to the land of the giants before making it to the tree.
MVP
I believe Soldier of godrick needs no introduction.
Eileen the Crow
, Midir and Vendric deserve mention.
That experience would be what Finlay went through
''Have you heard of the tragedy of Artorias the Abysswalker?'' in palpatine fashion.
Great video, i got a surge of goosebumps with each little story
And that art of Morgott at the start of his segment is awesome. I love the idea of using his great rune as a halo
Glad you enjoyed it! Morgott's artwork belongs to Rohland DeMoss, you can see more of his work online.
Yeah he did some good stuff but he also really loved fighting and was a bit of a warmonger, but yeah he was generally a good dude it seems
Not a """"true"""" soul games but Bloodborne has a lot of chill people for such a dark game
The first that comes to mind is Eileen, and she only turns mad because of someone that isn't out of control, she just needs one good friend (us) to stay sane. Hell, taking the risk of going mad to save many is pretty heroic
Gherman, Maria and Logarius locked themselves up to either protect a dangerous secret or give guidance
Valtr is a cool guy too. He isn't completely sane but he fights for a good cause and is mostly a positive entity. He is also a hero to all Str/Arcane players that want an early Holy Moonlight Sword :))
And of course, the original Iosefka
The Ivory King is the most heroic character, there's no fair competition.
In this house, we simp for Lucatiel
I'm surprised that Siglynd of Catarina was not mentioned. Most badass character of DS1.
She wasn't even hollow and she made it through most of the game
Im really glad Morgott got his mention, in this house we recognize the last of all kings
Slave Knight Gael easily takes the cake for the sheer scale of his undertaking, and one of the few hero's who succeed completely, if the hints are true, the dark souls pigment world is free from the failings of the Dark Souls world.
artorias was THE hero. as you can see from my pfp i love artorias.
Saw your villan video today and searched for heros video that you said would be uploaded but didn't found it but here it is. Lucky me 😂❤️
One happy note at the end of morgotts life. Upon his defeat to you his horns are removed. The curse lifted by the erdtree. Further proof is when he dies he evaporates into grace that points Godfrey to you
I feel like Vyke should’ve been an honorable mention.
I kinda wish we got Loretta's shotgun spam spell from her 2nd phase, she's one of my favourite bosses and characters
Here is something wrong with this video I don't see Greirat of the Undead Settlement here.
I didn’t know Gael was the MC of the story
Ivory King :) is who I see as being the most Heroic. Great video !!
Wow I spent like 2 hours explaining why Gael is a heroic character to someone yesterday when all i had to do was just link this great video
I am surprised that no one from Demon's Souls made the list, not even an honorable mention. Would have figured Biorr, of the Twin Fangs, Ostrava, of Boletaria, or Old King Doran would have been a shoe in.
Winged Knights and their quest to stop Lothric monarchs gotta be part of this conversation too 🤝
Found your channel today. Amazing content my friend! Keep it up
13:44 it’s never actually stated it was a young radahn, this was radahn at the shattering which was the same event that he went mad due to scarlet rot (but before going mad) which can really show the strength of morgott (even if he was concealing his powers at the time)
That Artorius monologue had no business being cut😔
It's not a fact that Loretta was an Albunauric, it's her shield that spawned a rumor that she was one, because it supposedly depicts this dew of life. Even the shield calls this an "absurd rumor". It calls the rumor absurd, which certainly implies that it's false, but it's not impossible that she really was an albunauric. Her finding and going to the Haligtree implies that she might be one, but it might also just mean that she empathises with their existance.
I love that most bosses in the souls series aren't against the villains, but against the good guys
I bet Juno would have loved that for him
the sculptor from sekiro is also an heroic character , who fought toe to toe with prime ishin ashina
"Aah, you were at my side, all along." Picks up swords
"My true mentor...
I would of nominated my onion bro, Siegward of Catarina. Who summoned the courage to fulfill his promise to his friend Yhorm.
Glad someone finally mentions morgott
I find it mad that Artorias' lines were cut.. That was hard
I forget if Gehrman did anything dubious, but he stays the host of the hunters dream and mercy kills all the other hunters to spare them from the unending purgatory of it after they complete their journey. It turn, keeping himself locked in the dream forever. Not to mention setting a precedent for hunters.
Now that the DLC released....it seems like both the omen brothers were miserable victims....
All Hail The Ivory King!!! A true king and hero! Maybe his name and legacy never be forgotten!
Tarnished Elden Lord, we who felled Gods, stood tall against cosmic eldritch horrors, demons, even fate itself.
I get that we become a god almost every game but we become a God of Gods in Elden ring.
Mquella absolutely deserves to be here, he's such a selfless, pure and tragic character and I'm tired of people not acknowledging it
This aged like milk
@@UsualMoth he's still selfless and tragic because he wants to make a better world and had to give up everything to become a god but yeah he dont deserve his spot here at all😭😭
Abyss watcher is also cool as hell
Awesome video. But where is my man Siegward?
I am surprised no one mentioned Maliketh
Wonder if Vyke is supposed to be Elden ring’s Artorias.
Havel, The Rock
Damn im getting hit with all kinds of good new souls topic channels lately
Where the fuck is the legend Iron Tarkus, the first person to ever reach anor londo alive
I mean Astorias is nice and all, but then there is also Sif, the goodest of Bois!
Awesome video man.
Oh to be a hollow vibing in New Londo Ruins 20:28
Ivory king, the ultimate chad
Is a characters heroism determined by their strength, or by their actions, because if it is the latter, Solaire not being on the list and near the top is a tragedy. The guy literally just gives you multiplayer and helps because its a nice thing to do. He's also powerful because of his own strength, his weapons and armor are not magical in any way, Solaire is powerful because he's Solaire.
firekeeper is peeing on slace knight at the picture that u used💀
I respect Morgott but
And this has made me like morgott even more now
I mean its gael, he was actually the hero the entire time, not you
The most heroic‘s are with a dagger and a parry-shield.
Part 2 plz
Siegeward of Catarina is the GOAT
Maybe I am the bad guy
Havel should have been honorable mention
Vendrick has to be here
The real most heroic character of Soulsborne is Mimic Tear, couldn't have done the DLC without him.
Ngl, I'm pretty dissapointed that Gael isn't left handed, cause then we'd have the trio of left-handed chads: Artorias, Ivory king and Gael.
Here's hoping my mate Boggart tops the list
You clearly don't know what you're talking about
Where's Ludwig
Ludwig is more of an anti-hero than anything else
@@froid7Yes.
Why no Radahn or Sir Alonne? But good vid nontheless
