@@kirstinhiggins8548 Hope so because I liked the actors and it'll be great to see tin head and big mick Johnson. Unfinished bussiness was so good. Nat and Georgia storyline was different. In 1994 6 I was on bus and guy got on and omg the guy looked so much like Jimmy cockhill I couldn't believe it.
Amazing. Takes me back to the eighties and nineties when this became the theme. Such an uplifting yet foreboding introduction. It might have been the storyline, the news of the day or the weather but the atmosphere of this track always somehow fitted in with the mood of the times in which this great kitchen sink drama graced our screens. Makes me sad for a time long gone. RIP Brookside.
@@kirstinhiggins8548 I know! Great news which I saw this morning. Not sure it will be easy to fit in every episode in batches of 10 compared to the two a week and/ or the omnibus on a Saturday but I am looking forward to a trip back to the eighties when it returns. I was not allowed to watch it for the first couple of years on account of the language sometimes used (!) but I don't think there is much chance of a ban being imposed now by my wife. By today's standards it was nothing but there was controversy around this in the early days. I am sure a lot of people will be pleased at its return.
Gives me absolute shivers. Seriously. The instant this theme starts I'm back watching my old student-days portable TV, credits rolling up the screen: Julia Brogan - Gladys Ambrose.....Diana Spence - Paula Frances.....Max Farnham - Steven Pinder.....DD Dixon - Irene Marot etc etc. Oh my god, how do I still remember them, 30 years later?! Goes to show how many episodes I watched back in the day. It was unmissable stuff.
Look for the full length version of the theme tune to the children's television show Hartbeat. Once it goes past the main part it becomes much more like a dance tune
My Favourite Actress on Brookside Alexandrea Fletcher... I spoke to her on the phone at Studio's set Brookside.. Love Liverpool ❤️❤️❤️, Miss her it's been a long time.... 😊😊👍👍 Enjoy the Theme tune Brookside
I remember in the early 90s driving from the North East to Liverpool to visit the set. Only got as far as the barrier butcsaw Sinbad and Barry Grant coming in
When me and my mate lived in Korea and there were primarily Yanks, we used to play this on RUclips. You could spot the people from the British Isles a mile off as they would always react.
It's now back on STV player which is free on sky and freeview the first 5 episodes of season 1 are now showing with more getting added as the weeks progress
yeah be nice be surprised if happened tho now real families live on there if did come back have be all new cast and maybe some old faces popping in now and again be good :)
Emmerdale will always be my fave but me, my mum and dad used to love Brookside especially as a kid and growing up in the 90s but my dad said it was better in the beginning but such a shame it isn't on anymore
Because the ratings dropped after endless ridiculous overreliance on Sensationalism. Practically destroying it's reputation for realism. And became a stereotype of "Guns and Explosions."
It kept trying too hard to shock people and they just ran out of things to shock us with after they scrapped the barrel of a brother and sister being in love with another
This is my childhood right here. I absolutely loved it. I love the city of liverpool, I'm a huge liverpool fc fan and I just love the ppl. I need to move here 👍😄🤔
Watched this greatest soap ever from when i was growing up in the 90s to when it finished in 2003 n last year on my bday weekend i went to Liverpool specifically to find the Brookside Close estate 🥰😍😘❤ best ever TV dream wish n it ended on my bday to it was the perfect dream weekend ❤️❤🥰😍🫣

It returned back in February i think
Here because my Mum and I were discussing soap themes which are absolute bangers. (Yes, we are very sad individuals.)
THOSE CLASSIC OPENING NOTES ON BROOKSIDE WERE JUST AWESOME AND SO WERE THE CLOSING CREDITS. WATCHED IT EVERDAY OF EVERY WEEK...
What a waste of life!
+John Randles not if he enjoyed it

The version I grew up with! Fond memories:)
In my opinion the best U.K. soap theme tune ever!!!!
and still best uk soap all time my opinion ;)
Omg brings back memories I never missed an episode !
Reminds me of when I was like 6 years old ...memoriesss good old england
Reminds me when I was 26 years old.
pix046 LOL 😂
Wow memories flooding back 😊
Miss This Programme So Much The Nat And Georgia Storyline Had to Be The Greatest Thing Ever Seen On British Television
I can’t believe to this day it got replaced by Frigging Hollyoaks !!! They need to bring it back
Brookside will forever be the greatest soap broadcast on British TV.
Phil Redmond really pulled it out of the bag with Brookside.
Absolutely! I would love it to return.
Shame he's too busy making absolute shite in the form of Hollyoaks; a show that was never good.
Then fell into terrible sensationalism from 1995.... with ever increasingly ridiculousness.
I like the drum machine sound. Those 90's theme tunes were trippy. Like that acid house Byker Grove theme.
just listened to Byker Grove theme haha, never realised the acid house beat as an innocent child. Same with hey arthur being dub.
Mate that just cracked me the fuck up after going back and listening to byker grove 🤣
Look for the full length version of the theme tune to the children's television show Hartbeat. Once it goes past the main part it becomes much more like a dance tune
@@brendansheehan7714 Haha yes
I could swear this is mixed. It's too PERFECT.
RIP Jimmy Corkhill (Dean Sullivan).
Loved this show. I lived with my gran and watched emmerdale and coronation street so this was brilliant and a great change for those.
Brookside I watched it for years and miss it. I like the tune aswell. Some good memories on the close.

Brookside pushed the boundaries back then It was the best soap opera about and I still can't get my head around why it ended
move on ... There's more in this life to be upset about
Because people stopped watching. In a country of 70 million people there were less than a million watching Brookside in its last year. Figure it out.
Great catchy tune, love this
I totally agree with you.
My all time favourite soap they should never have stopped making it I still miss it
Stephen Sutton
Calm down calm down
They had to - they were getting like 300,000 views which is terrible.

Ross has a passion for this theme that rivals nothing else I’ve ever seen
Can you link to the video you're referencing please?
loved Brookside to bits wish it was still on
It's pretty amazing how they get soap theme tunes so perfect
Brings back memories of my wonderful children and getting them to bed before Brookside 😉
It has a very bitter sweet theme, never watched it but loved the music growing up
I remember in the early 90s driving from the North East to Liverpool to visit the set. Only got as far as the barrier butcsaw Sinbad and Barry Grant coming in
This theme used to make me cry lol
why?

Brookside needs to come back I miss it alot use to watch this when I was a kid
Can't believe it's been off air 20 years. Suprised it got axed. Thought there was a place for it to compete with EastEnders, Emmerdale and corry
@Steven Pipper love brookside one best soaps I ever seen i still watch bits and peace of it on youtube
This is the best soap! It needs to come back 2020 or 2021
yeah be nice be surprised if happened tho now real families live on there if did come back have be all new cast and maybe some old faces popping in now and again be good :)
An absolute classic! So sad it got axed! :(
I remember Brookside vaguely, but the
theme tune that I've just heard, remember that well.
I always loved the way that the theme tune seems to be akin to Jean-Michel Jarre’s “Equinoxe 5” and also Jon & Vangelis’ “I Hear You Now”.….
Ahhh yes that's the song I was thinking of that it reminds me of " I hear you now" thanks that was bugging me😂
Bring back brooky loved it best soap ever on tv by far
Can't forget those classic lines... - Eh, Eh. Calm Down, Just Calm down
God almighty, Jimmy...
I remember the 90s to cos I grew up in the 90s and TV and music was much better than now I am 33 born in the 80s

Good old Jimmy corkhill, my favourite character , and Jackie corkhill too .
Love it when the synth beat drops in at the start. Sounds retro but still really good.

BEST SOAP ALL TIME :) channel 4 got repeat from start to finish all overs have already

As soap themes go, this is up there with the best. Brookside (and EastEnders) clearly boss it with the percussion from those beats.
Staying at a Premier Inn in Birkenhead bought me here.
brookside best show TV UK 90s
I loved the world better back then
Loved brookside never missed a episode love it to come but original not updated

Thank you
I miss the 80s.
still best soap all time and forever will be
Good old times watching this Jimmy cork hill 😃
Sounds like a slowed down version of Equinoxe 5 by Jean Michel Jarre
David McAllister It always reminds me of "I hear you now" - Jon & Vangelis.
@@wylco1959 Very much 'I hear you now', sure Vangelis had no part in the composition of the theme tune ???

This is the reason people in Salford like Gary Neville hate Liverpool, because its such an awesome city with awesome people
It is awesome and so is Exeter.
