22.08.2021 Hello everyone, I have just noticed some awful comments from a few people, that I have now removed. I appreciate ALL the lovely comments that have been shared since I uploaded this. IF you are one that likes nothing better to do than upset people, pause, think about what your action will result to & kindly do us ALL a favour & do it somewhere else please
This beautiful song instantly takes me back to my childhood and Sunday teatimes, I’m 51 now and wish I could go back to those days, makes me fill up every time

@@uniauther13 57 here and absolutely right. omg those erstwhile innocent times were just perfect for us kids. not saying life was in the world of Enid Blyton perfect as bad shit still went on but wow, look at todays kids.. mobiles painted faces lashes, no hide n seek and all those wonderful games we played. everyone wants to be grown up, indoctrinated by tv and the Kardashians et al. I thank fuck I'm not a kid now . my eyes well up. when I think of running across fields thru woods playing innocent war games. keep the faith people and never forget how bloody lucky we were. x
Same here. It brings tears to my eyes. This theme with Black
Beauty galloping freely can never be beaten and never will. 70's TV was special, wish we could have it back sometime.
Share your sentiment completely. Such seemingly carefree times looking back on them now. If only there were a portal back to them. The theme tune still retains its magic after all this time.
Bath, Howard’s Way, That’s Life, bed. :)
Simply the greatest theme of all time...it takes me back to a more innocent carefree time...
I'd go back in a heartbeat if I could.
Ski Sunday ?
Future is in the past...
Beautiful music fantastic series, Sunday afternoons 1972
Try John Barry. The Persuaders!
55 and sat here tears streaming down.......loved this programme....
It manages to be both melancholy and heroic; it evokes a world that is rich and full of adventure for the taking, but inspite of that there's a sadness running through it all. Which is what life is really.
maybe that's why so many of the comments include tears
Very well said, an excellent description.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's so heroic! I feel so emboldened! I love you 😍 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What an amazing theme tune. It just sends me back to Sunday afternoons as a child in the way that only TV themes can. This is probably the most iconic theme tune in a era full of them.
I knew Denis King and his lovely family back in the seventies, my mother used to clean there house in hampstead, I used to play with his lovely daughter fiona, who loved snoopy, great guy and a great composer
You won't beat anything better than this when it use to be on a Sunday teatime in front of the fire the good old days
Yes, all of us around the coal fire. My mum and dad are now sadly gone 😢
@@rw8733 Your Mum and Dad (God rest them both) could be up there petting the nose of the real Black Beauty for all we know, right as we speak, and they’d be smiling right down on you. Their love for you still lives in your heart. 💐
Amen to that.Sunday TV at its finest
Egg and chips in front of the box, while me dad filled out his pools coupon, while rest of family chatted in kitchen, not forgetting provi lady, god bless my mum x
Oh Beauty! Galloping through those fields! Oh the nostalgia how superb !!!
To love horses is to love yourself. They give so much and this programme as a child would fill me with so much joy. God I miss it.😥
tears streaming down my face my childhood all over again
What an enrapturing theme!!!from a time when England was not the Stinkhole it is today!!!!!! ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Look up the English constitution party and know your rights
One of the best pieces of music ever...so powerful in so many ways..gives me goosebumps...loved the programme Black Beauty as a child .. tremendous...🖤
This tune just came into my head having not listened to or watched in decades.
Why am I crying so much 😭😭 what is it with this music? One of the finest TV themes that will ever be.
One of the greatest theme tunes EVER!
This is just stunning music. I loved this programme when i was a child,it gave me my love of horses along with Follyfoot. I was up near Stockers Farm Rickmondsworth where it was filmed the other day, good memories.
Michele D. Davess
I was born and bred where they filmed it.

I lived about 2 miles from stockers farm for 28 years. I always remember when it came on the music use to make me feel sad for some unknown reason. It was the same with bright eyes from Watership down.
Fabulous childhood memories watching Black Beauty. Amazing spine tingling music and just like that I’m 8 yrs old again in front of a tv that only had 3 channels. Better days!!
I've just clicked on this video straight after listening to the Settlers " Lightning Tree "" from Follyfoot and I'm amazed with the comments stating exactly the way I felt . " Sunday teatime " ! These themes remind us of our childhood when everything WAS so much better than today. Another theme for me is the one from Catweazle ! Nostalgia as they say , is a thing of the past but give me those days every time . The 70s was the best decade to be a kid .
Follyfoot farm. Lightning. Tree
this song and film still brings me to tears ! ... my 7 year old daughter saw the serie last week, she found it a bit exiting with the bad guys who try to steal Beauty ; -) but always a good end... love you sweet Beauty , still in my hart xxx ( splashing true the water beautyful !) btw we are still making beautyful memories here in 2019 ... times are still as wonderful as in my childhood. Moving forward in time , galopping like this Black Beauty did , all is well !
god lynn this is bloody brilliant
Can't listen to this without blubbing!
I feel the same
Yikes, Me too, I'm now 48, and I have no idea why, I seem to remember this tune always making me very emotional, I thought Black Beauty was running away from home, or a feeling of me being parted from my Mum and Dad, ....so strange
Happy that I'm not the only big girls blouse
Same here.
Well arnt we a hardy bunch . , it is an emotional tune.
the sound of triumph and freedom.
P Heart
Amen!
Hit the nail right on the head ✌
My twin sister and I, we are 50 now loved Black Beauty and galloped up and down the living room when the music started and shook our heads like a horse at the end, beautiful days
I am 53 years old & remember this show with so much Love, thank you for your experiences when you & your sister were young, made my weekend.

Aww, same here 😀❤️❤️
Again remember this music as a child Brings back so so many happy memories as I discovered the world of television Yet strangely enough it's the music that I will never forget?? 🐎 An eternal classic......✨.....
why is this song so emotional to me?! 💕
One of the best TV themes ever. It's rousing and emotional at the same time.
I was glued to this every Sunday l didn’t even need reminding what day it was on! That music and that beautiful horse galloping through the water made my day, I adored horses and had an auntie at that time with a horse she wouldn’t let me anywhere near. I was heartbroken as a kid just wanting to be near them. When I was 18 I did a YTS scheme at Foxes Riding School on the Wirral and became a fairly decent flat rider getting to ride 4 times a week! My dream had finally come true but certainly inspired by this TV series…..
what a beautiful story and so fine that your dream became truth.
I absolutely LOVE this theme tune. ALL TIME GREAT
Just beautiful, still makes me cry, great memories
God Bless you Carla
This is one of the finest and wonderful theme music I've ever listened to..reminds me of my childhood memories during my stay in london..feeling so nostalgic 😇
Such a beautiful theme
when i was 4 years old i used to burst into tears at the opening credits, every time !!!
I loved this. The music was so stirring, and I so wanted to live in the country and ride my own horse!
The Black Beauty 70s series is of my all-time fav series, I still watch it today! Black Beauty for the win! :)
I'm 53 and Black Beauty was one of those TV shows that will always be synonymous with childhood weekends, hearing the theme tune instantly takes me back to a much simpler time. There are two other theme tunes that also seem to instantly pull me back to being a little boy in the 70s and it's the theme tunes to Follyfoot (The Lightning Tree) and Catweazle. Happy times.
This is a beautiful piece of music, and taking me back to a great childhood, wonderful memories, although life was safer back in they days.
Loved it in my childhood on a sunday night x
Exactly the same for me too Willie
I'm 39 now, and I still remember this when I was a kid, this brings back my childhood memories.
quite possibly the finest TV theme ever stirs so many emotions..
Sound track of my youth.....my sister would cry at this tune.
I have the box set of Black Beauty and can't bear to be parted from it!
One of the truly great British tv themes..and a masterwork from the legendary Dennis King.
Fantastic piece of Music
Memories .... and tears x
Great theme and arrangement!
Oh when life was simpler...
Chuck Fortier
I know. I see it in my nephew. He loves nature and animals. Technology doesn't bring us happiness. We use what is ready to hand for convenience.
Love life!

Chuck, the violence in this world sickens me. All life is sacred to me. I let spider weave webs.
Horses are magnificent.
To see them feel the air rush into their face is a magical image.
Rock on Chuck! Peace. 😃

Use the mind of Nature!
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful rousing emotion tingling theme tunes ever
I've got this on a 45 and my wife pokes fun at me everytime I play it we are both in our sixties now but great days never forgotten.
I was brought by foster parents the one person/ persons that were to love and protect never existed. So every week I looked forward to watching black beauty and I would dream and day dream of getting on beauty and riding out of hell. And after all these years I still love black beauty. I love all horses it feels like an escape when your not escaping but in your mind you are and no body can take that away from you
As a young nipper Sunday teatimes with mum and dad and brother all sat watching . Family time . The theme brings back the innocence of being young . Miss my parents so much x
This evokes so many memories of my childhood. Although I hope it’s not for a very long time but it’s my wish to have this played at my funeral.
Oh how Ive cried listening...back to my.childhood, with my mother and father...
I met Judy Bowler back in 1980 when I was delivering for a dry cleaning company. She came in to collect a garment. Very nice lady not pretentious in any way and looked exactly how she appeared on screen. I met her again 15 years later just by chance, she was out walking her dog in the New Forrest while me and my partner were walking our two dogs. She looked almost the same and very chatty.
Lovely song, good old days ❤
The best theme tune ever from my childhood days black beauty
There were 5 horses in total that they used. THE ORIGINAL main horse's name, believe it or not was Custard.
This one makes me want to dance and cry at the same time. Nostalgia ❤️
Luv this, takes me back to my childhood, best years of my life.
hi from Czech republic even in our country it was very very known and famous tv series .. I guess many ones it listen and heard very glad .. .. so have a good time
I've been looking for this for years. I'm in disbelief that I've actually found it. For as long as I can remember I've known this theme but never known the name.
Just beautiful music bringing back childhood memories of watching that programme
The best theme tune grew up with Black Beauty miss it really now 55 years old.
Every day l rush in fro school, beautiful horse
I read the black beauty book when I was a child and it broke my fucking heart I was distraught for months afterwards, poor horse god.
Beautiful theme tune lovely programme
The memories...
Even though I‘m only thirteen, I always used to watch those "episodes". Back when life was easy
This theme is so refreshing
Sunday dinner with my grandparents, I miss those days but this theme will always remind me of them
I watched these series when I was a young boy. Amazing!
this IS the theme tune that takes me back to my Seventies childhood. And does so more than any other. Children of the Seventies were very spoilt; very lucky. We were left alone to enjoy and indulge ourselves in just being...children. Lucky bags and clappers; Space Hoppers and Gobstoppers. Kia-ora and Wall's ice cream at the cinema - all those stilted and awful Doug McClure and Oliver Tobias films! Duffle coats , or anoraks , with mittens attached to elasticated cord. Paraffin heaters and sky-blue and yellow tricycles....all this , and cheese-on-toast on a Saturday morning while watching things like this! I wish I was back there again , right this very second. I really do.
i love this i remember the show i love the music still in 20 21
This theme tune and white horses theme were a massive part of my childhood.
I loved this theme music, when l was young. I still love it as much now. Classic theme music.
Beautiful soundtrack 💪💪💪
have you seen my childhood brings back so many vivid memories
I still think of Stacy Dorning today and I've just turned 62.

Nostalgic childhood TV show in the 80s😊
Childhood Sunday late afternoon, brilliant

I used to get emotional watching and listening to the intro. I am amazed how many others in the comments felt the same.
Makes my hairs stand up when I listen to this brings back a lot of memories
Makes me want to cry, haunting music

Top ten theme tunes of kids tv fromthe 70's
Black Beauty' I Love you 😍 💋 🖤 ♥️ ❤️ 💕 😍 💋 🖤 ♥️ ❤️
This has to be one of the finest pieces of music ever to grace a TV series. I can see my mum now with tears rolling down her face. A great reminder of when weekend TV was something to relish. Not a trashy reality show in sight
A reality show is only as bad as its producers.
JESUS CHRIST will come very soon!

Tea time on a Sunday in front of our coal fire, watching this and dreading School the next day. I'm 58 now and I'd do anything to go back in time, happy days.
You've taken me back in time to those same feelings.

Those booming kettle drums and the brass are just awesome. A fantastic piece of music that takes so many back to a childhood that existed in so much simpler times.
The world is falling apart.
This theme tune came in to my head for some reason and just had to YT it; Can confirm, I did tear up a little. I really don't know why, but deffo memories of Swap Shop, Tiswas, Banana Splits, The Red Hand Gang et al - all the innocence of childhood, all came flooding back. Now surrounded by death and misery. Nevermind - Happy New Year folks :-)
@@doctorcrankyflaps1724 damn right it is,
@@doctorcrankyflaps1724 No it’s not the world is just as amazing as it ever was. Life has just made us hard and cynical. Go out and smell the flowers and wave at a toddler and you’ll feel much better. 🥰
Don't you wish you could just go back and be happy again even for a day, week or for good, there's something special about childhood.
If only kids today had the sort of childhoods we had back then when Black Beauty, Robinson Cruise and the Pink Panther show were the highlights of your week.
This is sooo true 😊😊
Here! Here! When life was less complicated. I miss those years . So special .
It’s the only question I could answer . And I keep coming back. . Xxx

Lovely tune lovely horse miss those times
I'm 51 now and life did seem happier and much more simple than today. This wonderful tune reminds me of a Sunday tea time - great memories indeed !

Much better times indeed. I'm 81½ and am constantly reminded how the world as we know it is being destroyed by technology and attitudes. Turn on one's TV today and it won't be too long before you're bombarded with frightful sensationalism featuring self-obsessed morons on programmes like Naked Attraction( grown adults bollock- naked on national TV groveling for dates!) and The Sex Clinic (again grown adults on National TV exposing us all to their rancid STD's and egos out of control!!)
I believe this is what such things as FaceBook has created, monstrous creatures who believe everything about them and their lives is interesting to everyone else. Including their diseased sexual organs!!
🎩
Haha same here in New Zealand !
Same, at my grandparents. Ham salad I always remember. Now I wanna cry a little, lol !

Crying with you mate. 😢
I’m 48 and it brings tears to my eyes too, wish today was like it was back in the day.
So right, the world is a horrible place live in these days and it's very depressing.

😢😢😢 Same age...the same feeling is here>>>I was watching in early 80s
I was a very young child when this was on Tv. Cried every time I heard it. Parents bought me the record. And I listened over and over and cried. And I still cried just now. 😢❤
me too. why???
It's such a beautiful piece of music, and it brings back memories of happier times when my mum and dad were here.
This is one tune I could happily listen to on a loop forever, it makes me cry with happiness & joy at all those wonderful memories of a long ago childhood. It sends me right back to Sunday evenings, when I was around 8 & I was besotted with Black Beauty. It's making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up as I type. Thank you for posting, & making an old gal very happy. And Black Beauty, you still rock!! :-)
Isn't it just such a wonderful theme, I adore horses and I dreamt of getting one, sadly not to be. But the tune fills me with happiness and sadness for a time long lost.
Narcissisticnobody Thank you I agree, Black Beauty died of a broken heart when Jenny (Stacy Dorning) left to go to New Zealand in the FIRST 1990 Series, try finding that, it will make you cry that I KNOW.
Narcissisticnobody Well said Narciccictienobody #bringbackthe80sand90's
Narcissisticnobody Well said, it had the same effect on me too! There's nothing quite like the memories of your childhood to stir up all those feelings again.
My thoughts exactly. Makes me nostalgic and a little sad...melancholy. Times gone by that we'll never experience again. 😳
