    Loved the second part of your High Country video.
    Just want to put my two cents in regards to content etc, due to some coments below.
    You have created a unique channel in regards to what you provide. Its you who makes this and your doing exactly what you want to do... Yes there is heaps of others doing the same. Im just starting out in the You Tube world with my XJ Jeep....
    If people dont want to watch this stuff or there seen it before well they can move on.
    Im an adventurous type like you and I will never tire of watching different folks doing the same tracks etc. every one is different and we all show a different approach to our content and uniqueness...
    Long live the content creators as there is a massive audience out there....
    Tyler keep living that dream !!!

    Buckland spur is so bloody steep. They definitely put that one in on a Friday arvo "doze it straight up boys, no corners". Also that Evans Creek crossing is rooted now, it never used to be like that but we have had so much rain over the last couple months it has carved everything up. Great to see that you're up here again mate. Pumped for the rest of this series.

    Holes in that roof, probably reclaimed roof sheets from elsewhere.
    Tip, if you're able too, put the same rims and tyres on your trailer (same as your towing vehicle), it will run better, and you'll never have issues with spares on either ......

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  Год назад

      Terrible idea haha. Tb48 has less power, less torque and terrible engine braking compared to the TD. TB48 locked in 1st low is still like a freight train down the hills then you get brake fade every time, very dangerous

    • @DarrenBoxhall

      Don't let the dyno numbers thing the forklift engine is better.
      Line then up for a race and see what happens, TB48 will give you wheel speed to get you through things, and won't overheat in 5 mins.
      I owned a 4.8 on 37s and in low range, engine braking was still kinda there, but the brakes never faded.
      What diff gears are in the 4.8?

    I do enjoy your content....but what worries me about channels like this is there are many others and I'm a sub to most....one of the biggest channels I only watch from time to time now there is nothing left....these channels hit a peak then get no futher....or maybe it's me all the channels are pretty much same, same following each other around the country within weeks of each other....there are so many tracks in Aus and we see a channel doing it next another channel same tracks same camp spots....there seems to be colt following to certain vehicles here in Australia so every channel has similar 4x4 and builds....there is no fresh air to any channel any more the biggest 4x4 channels now have done every track known 3 times over now.....all I can say I think you got in the right time because I don't see this community getting much more attention from me it's like record player round and round.... PLEASE for the love of God do something original I admit its disappointing as a viewer the up comming Barra build I know it's new for you but your the content creator your not eye balls watching when most seen Barra builds out the wazo....how about throw some suspension under MUX there sponsors any cost is a tax benefit to ride off so why not....I wanna see differences in superior suspension from solid axles to independent I wanna see if your old man's car after mods as a modern vehicle keep up with the old in the tough stuff.....the old man deserves some bling and you have him on enough for it to be a good selling advertising if the MUX can keep up....There are a huge population that drive modern IFS 4x4s I want to see what 10k or whatever it cost gets and we're it can take you....we have a BT50 so I'm curious having similar bones....

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  Год назад +75

      It's like most RUclips channels, their content is exciting and new for the first few years then it starts to feel like the same thing again. Becomes very difficult to create new style content and why a lot of RUclips channels fall off, being a short term content creator is achievable for a lot of people but trying to stay exciting and relevant for 10+ years is very very hard to do, I have been doing this for nearly 8 years now. This is why I do a variety of tough tracks, touring trips, build episodes etc to mix it up as much as possible, bring in new people like Burto, Demi etc
      We have been to basically every off-road destination multiple times on the East Coast of Australia from Cape York down to Tassie, out to the red centre, though South Australia. The only place we haven't been is Western Australia but funds and time make it hard to get there, and then a bunch of other creators like Ronny Dahl have filmed every place there anyway. So anywhere I go now is going to feel like somewhere I have been before or some other creator has been, there is a lot of people that make 4WD content now, the market is saturated. There isn't anywhere I can go that won't feel like 'the same thing', there isn't any build I can do that someone hasn't done before. The MUX already has suspension and most of the comments we get around the MUX are people enjoying it being basic and watching a stock-ish car tackle the tracks, so then we make it crazy and a bunch of people go off at me. The Barra 80 build has been our most popular content we have ever done.
      EDIT - I think the other thing to add is I just try focus on myself and doing new things for me and my channel, trying to 'compete' for new content with every other channel out there is a losing battle. As I've mentioned previously I generally just try do what I love doing and what we are enjoying at the time. This is a free channel for everyone, if you don't want to watch it you don't have to. I appreciate everyone that supports me but I'm not going to run myself into the ground trying to please everyone.
      My thought for this channel is as long as I'm doing what makes me happy and what is true to myself, if the channel dies then I can move on to the next thing in life satisfied. If the channel dies trying to do all these crazy ideas and things to keep everyone happy then I won't forgive myself.

      Yes creating new different content can be difficult and considering many channels provide this entertainment free of charge, I think we all need to be grateful of the content that is available and watch and enjoy it for what it is.
      I’ve watched Tyler from the very get go and still find his clips very entertaining- more than many channels, especially some of the larger ones that end up being an hour long episode of advertisements from their sponsors.
      I agree with Tyler too, it is hard ( and bloody expensive ) to tour more and more remote areas to film videos purely to create free content entertainment for the end user. 😉👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

    At the risk of sounding like a wowser, but I’m actually against trailers being towed on steep tracks in the high country. They do too much damage, especially if it’s wet, are a real problem if encountered by opposing traffic and magnify the danger when things go wrong.
    Do you have an opinion on this and I wonder if you could share that on a short video.
    Thanks for the work you do. Your footage and editing is first rate. Safe travels. 👍

    • @TylerThompson90
      @TylerThompson90  Год назад +1

      Thanks mate! I personally find under prepared 4wds and people with not much knowledge do the most damage to the tracks, small tyres, no lockers, not aired down tyres etc etc spinning their way up and down the hills. A twin locked GQ on big mud tyres aired downed does no more damage to the tracks then a regular 4wd driving on them, other then that big muddy section on King Billy track (where everyone is going to spin tyres, get bogged, send it etc) I barely spun a tyre in three days of driving.
      Probably unpopular opinion and I know they need to maintain tracks for fire access, public safety etc but I'm not worried if the tracks get a bit chewed up, makes the driving so much more fun. I enjoy 4wding and camping being a challenging adventure, driving up and down very well maintained dirt roads through the VHC doesn't bring heaps of that. Back 15 years ago the tracks were much more chewed up and less maintained and so much more fun!

    • @tonygreen8221
      @tonygreen8221 Год назад

      @@TylerThompson90 Thanks for the detailed reply mate. You make some very good points. FYI, the tracks in the high country will vary enormously over time. I used to drive/ride Billy Goats when it was twin track. I’ve also driven after it had been freshly dozed and was gravel road smooth. I drove it 2 months ago and it was the roughest I’d seen it in 35 years. Unfortunately, the Vic Government opted for a very “blade down” approach to maintaining the tracks since the early 2000 bush fires. By that I mean that they widened and smoothed every section of track whether it was needed or not. Completely agree that they need to let them become challenging. Perhaps using an excavator to repair individual sections.

    Difference between Toyota and Nissan do not need reduction gears in a Manual 80 series. I had to laugh at your partner being scared at the thought of a ghost at the old hut. You do relize that the spot you camped in looks identical and could be where Russell Clay and his partner were murdered by the airline pilot about 2 and half years ago in the Wonnagatta Valley.

      I wonder what the difference in ratios are, I would have thought it was pretty similar.

    Wait! What? You're not camping in the river bed?
    When I'm on my own, I can refuel my truck, check my load restraints & tyres, oder food, & have a shower, all with in 30 mins. If any of my children come with me, I guarantee it will take 60 to 90 minutes
