    I love the look in both modes but Fans Toys could've incorporated more articulation without damaging the look or the engineering, it would've cost them a bit more but since they recently increased the price point and the overall sales they should be offering more. Fans Toys are keeping up with what they do best, sculpt, paint, materials and build, they improved a bit on the transformations but they seem to be regressing when it comes to articulation.

      FV doesn't look nearly as pretty, but it would slaughter this fella in articulation. I actually really like what FT did with Huffer. The proportions are great imo. I would've been really tempted to trade in if this had an optional toy head.
      Gonna keep my FV though, in the grand scheme Huffer doesn't matter a whole lot to me. I don't think it's really competing in the same space as FT though.

    At last - someone mentioned the limitations of a figure with high shoulders.

    • @TheShadowKarl
      @TheShadowKarl 2 года назад

      Well I think more of that limitation is because his shoulders start just above halfway up his chest instead of at the top. That said, if they had moved the position higher then I think they probably would have moved the joint on the arm higher up the arm so it would still go down the same distance. That would have fixed a lot with the shoulder maneuverability there. In doing so they would have changed the odd sculpt choices of the original design, but in this area I would not mind that much.

    • @TransformsIntoAGuitar
      @TransformsIntoAGuitar 2 года назад +1

      @@TheShadowKarl Even if the joint was able to articulate to spread the arms the backpack would get in the way. It's always the same problem with high shoulders - look at versions of Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, Rodimus Prime and Cyclonus (mainly the XT Eligos).

      I agree with a lot of what you're saying when it comes to these guys. For that same reason I wish they would have included a sophisticated version of the toy head which looked nothing like a person and instead looked like a robot. Amen. I love the wonky ass proportions of Huffer. The toy and his comic iteration both had that too. I probably would've been sold on this figure if they had included a toy head instead of the O face.

      @@GibDozer1 me as well on the toy face verses the 'O' face they included. This is one place where I have noticed X-Transbots routinely sticks it to FansToys. They frequently include stuff like this. For example their IDW Perceptor includes the IDW head sculpt. For my son that was a BIG deal. IDW Perceptor is his favorite character and by including this version of the head sculpt they won the battle between which Perceptor to get even if FansToys is superior on a few different measures (time will tell on this as we don't have both in hand yet).
      When I was growing up for some reason the Transformers cartoon was not on TV on Saturday mornings. When I would visit my grandparents I could tune in because it was on TV every weekday at 4:30, but for me the toy faces were their faces and I loved the non-human looking faces so much

    Are you having any issues with the shoulders? The left one on mine will not tab in. If the backpack didn’t hold it in place it would just fall to the side. Has a gap between the chest plate and shoulder due to that also. Kinda sucks. But is what it is I guess.
    I emailed FT on the shoulder issue and they said the copy they have there has the same issue and sent a picture.... Like did you guys not notice this pre production and do a little tweak to fix it before making a butt load of them and shipping them out. Like the other side tabs in fine on theirs's they said, it was just the left side. Bobby didn't untab the backpack before man handling the part with his sausage fingers so can't tell if he has the same issue and P4L has the issue in his review also. I like this one a lot too. It has many refreshing surprises. When the head is at the backend of a truck like this in alt mode something strange is going on. Also when both the front and rear tires are both hidden away at the top of the bot in Robot mode something unique is going on here. It is full of surprises. Also for as complex as it is there never appears to be sections where you're forcing parts past other parts and potentially stressing joints. The finished results of the transformation are flawless from an aesthetic point of view. If I had this guy I think I would be transforming him a lot.

Replaced BadeCube Wardog & DX9 Chigurh w/ Sheridan & Thomas. Hadn't opened em til now. They felt kind of dead. Hard to explain but just 2 brickish compared to other companies. They feel awesome but older. Like they came from 5-10 years ago. I also went MMC for Springer & swapped him w/ my UT Allen. It just seems more alive & dynamic. MMC Ocular Max may be a problem if they operate on tht level. It feels like a modern FT. We'll see.

    If asked, I would rate cartoon accuracy high on my masterpiece list but I'm realizing there's a limit. Past a certain level of faithfulness to the cartoon other things like proportions start to matter more me. Even though this is closer to on screen accuracy than Badcubes version I think I prefer the Badcube. There are things like the Fanstoys cleanliness of the cap windows that I chalk up more to artist laziness in the cartoon model and makes me not willing to forgive the wacky arm positions. Felt the same way with Fanstoys Seaspray versus X-transbots version. I prefer the X-transbots, and yet Robot Paradise has replaced Takara on my shelf for Soundwave. The Huffer versus will be interesting. The ultimate winner for me would probably be a Badcube Huffer painted like the Fanstoys. I love metallic paint on bots. ToyHax labels were a must for the Badcube due to paint chipping.

    He looks good, but the transformation is needlessly complicated. If you're going to make an MP of a Transformer, then (a) get as close to the real world vehicle as you can (B) get the bot as close to the original toy as possible, except where the animation model changed, like Ratchet, Ironhide , Trailbreaker, etc, (c) get the transformation as close to the original toy as possible without fake parts, (d) make it as articulated as it makes sense to do. Those should be your four principles of MP Transformers. The animation was simplified for the sake of time, so it's okay to have tires hanging out. You don't need to hide them like MP 44 does. I want the detail work. They're robots. They should have some details
