I like your ideas too and I use the CTMH paper envelopes too in some of my storage. All my card stocks are stored in LP dust covers. I labeled them with the name of the color and to store the 12x12 sheets and my scraps in them together. They are stored upright in a file container I get from the container store. It took me a long time to find them since they are truly rectangle and are like 9” or so high. I have them in an Ikea Kallax unit. All I do is pull the container out and grab my sheets I need. I did use like 5-6 of those container so one has my neutrals in, one is blue and green and so on. I do teach card making classes so I often get an entire pack of card stock. This systems works great for me. You can leave them in the plastic bag they come in and just cut the top of for easier access if you store them upright, but since I use mine a lot, the dust covers are sturdier for me.
Great video. You have a lovely craft room. I store my 12x12 paper in a rack just like the stores have. The white metal vertical rack. I got it years ago at a yard sale. No idea where it originally came from but I absolutely love it. I organize by color; white solid, white design, red solid, red design & so forth & so on. I agree with other comments...your hair is beautiful! 😊 TFS!
Oooh that sounds like a great yard sale find!!! The white shelves in my room were a garage sale score too. It’s a happy day when you find great solutions inexpensively. I like your organizing system, it sounds like you have a good handle on your paper situation.
I do store my paper vertically by theme and plain card stock by color. I really like the idea of storing kits, collections and projects in those storage envelopes. I'm going to order some of those. I use Evernote but I've never thought of using that to catalog paper...great idea! Thank you, I always get good ideas from you😀
It is nice to create kits. Sometimes I will have an idea for a set of photos so I will put them into the envelope along with papers and stamps I want to use. I might even draw a little sketch and tuck it in also so its ready to create. Evernote has definitely helped me use older papers I had forgotten about.
I loved this video. I do store my paper vertically for the most part but I never thought of turning the plastic holders on their side so I can read my labels better. I also have not tried the plastic envelopes or storing my scraps with the full sheets. I've been working on organizing my scrapbook area because it is literally a closet that I'm transforming so organization is so helpful right now. Thanks so much!
I am so glad this was helpful! I think we are forever looking for organizing solutions to help us utilize our supplies. It will be so nice for you when you have your project complete.
If you have enough paper, or too much, it doesn't warp lol! I love those envelopes and even have many with snaps. I absolutely love how you are able to organize a small space into a workable room. Thank you
Thank you for sharing your organization process for paper!! I have also been contemplating adding my pattern paper into OneNote. I think it’s a great idea! For my pattern paper, I have been using LP vinyl sleeves. They easily hold an entire collection and they hold up well. They are not as sturdy as the envelopes that you shared. I do have those for when I create layout kits or seasonal work.
I use the vertical storage for a lot of my cardstock, and I love it! I’ve started keeping my scraps with the cardstock too, and that has been a game changer for me. Thanks for your tips and tricks, Erin!
Thank you so much for that informative video. SO HELPFUL!!! I love using Evernote for other items and since have started adding my new paper packs for easier access/ location as well. I wish you could come organize my room as nice as yours. LOL
I do store my paper packs vertically in IKEA Kallax's, but until it full-ish, I add expandable Cafe rods to hold them upright. With some older (kids or masculine) kits I normally wouldn't have used back then, I'm grabbing and using for Gbabies now! 😅
I have totally thought I should keep my baby themed papers I really love for grand babies one day. I have a ways to go but they have stuck around this long so why not. Good idea to keep them tight with the expandable rods.
Thanks for the ideas! I think I will get some of the envelopes to store everything I plan on using for upcoming projects. As far as my paper storage, I have two groups. One is CTMH and the other is any other company papers. In each group I have them divided up the way I think. By season (not only what happens in that season but by season colors),special occasion and everyday. I don’t get rid of paper unless I just don’t like it anymore.
It seems like you have a good handle on your paper stash. I am the same way, I don’t get rid of it unless it doesn’t appeal to me anymore. Sometimes I like to sit down and make cards from a collection that doesn’t have much left to it. The envelopes are very nice for projects.
I had my husband build me a tall paper rack and I’m storing the paper horizontally right now by color and by solids or prints. The shelves slide out so I can easily flip through a color section. That is for all of my single sheets and card stock. My collections are in folders in the bottom section of this rack and I just left the shelves out for now so that I could store them vertically. My seasonal collections are stored in plastic folders vertically in the closet in my craft room.
I love these envelopes and have enough for all my cardstock colours but my patterned papers are all over the place. I can just never decide whether to continue to keep them in collection order or by colour. Perhaps evernote is the answer!
It is a tough decision! I do keep them in their collection unless it’s down to one sheet I didn’t use. The mix in papers get stored by color. I like to keep them together as a collection but will borrow from one pack to mix with another.
I store my papers in a hot mess! LOL! No really, I am trying so hard to purge and organize but it is so hard when CTMH just keeps coming up with more pretty papers to buy! Who has time? I have one whole shelve in my closet with the totally tiffany paper holders! I am trying to organize those into season and themes!
Haha, you had me laughing! I know what you mean, I did a sort and purge last year. The papers I didn’t like were easy to let go but then there were the maybes, maybe I can use it one day lol. So many seemed to fall into the maybe category.
After entering a paper pack in Evernote, you file by theme(Christmas, Halloween) but what about those I feel really don’t have a theme. How would you find that pack?
The collections without obvious themes are always the most challenging. I have a big misc category on my shelf but in Evernote I will tag it with descriptive words like houses, flowers, etc. The colors tend to help me find papers to use more than anything. Often they are a neutral pattern that can compliment a theme so the color would be the determining factor.
Hello and Happy New Year! I will be sharing a craft room tour here on my channel very soon and will show how I store my paper. I keep my paper packs grouped by category. My categories include, holidays, seasonal, outdoors, travel, masculine, floral and then a big group of "I am not sure where to put them". 😂 Paper seems to be a challenge for many and sometimes I do forget what I have.
Oooooh I want to check out the Evernote. I use it for stamps (well one note) but this is intriguing!!!
I think my friend Katy uses one note and the principal seems to be the same. Having the paper in there really does help me use it more.

It sounds like you have a very organized system. The Kallax units are great for paper storage and your file container sounds perfect!
I should look back into Evernote for my beads and papers. Thanks!

Highly addicted to paper...nailed it! 🙋 Great video! I like how you are storing your December Daily stuff in one, too.
It is a healthy addiction right? Lol
I was today years old when I realized CTMH had the paper storage envelopes! I am going to need some as my CTMH cardstock collection is growing!😂😂❤❤
Haha, today years old. They are seriously pretty handy!

Haha Belinda, so true! That seems legit to me, you need all that paper so it keeps it all nice and tidy close together lol
Thank you for sharing your organization process for paper!!

It's a good way to utilize those scraps when they are all together.
Thank you so much for that informative video. SO HELPFUL!!! I love using Evernote for other items and since have started adding my new paper packs for easier access/ location as well. I wish you could come organize my room as nice as yours. LOL
Haha, craft room organizing road trip! Evernote has definitely helped me use more of my stash. I am glad it is working for you too.

You sound very organized. Having a handy husband is very helpful when needing custom craft room organizing solutions.
Love your setup. I need to set up Evernote.
Thank you! I do find it worth the time to enter in your supplies. It saves a lot of time in the long run and helps you use your stash.
I love these envelopes and have enough for all my cardstock colours but my patterned papers are all over the place. I can just never decide whether to continue to keep them in collection order or by colour. Perhaps evernote is the answer!

Thanks for the tips. I also have lots of paper! What is the holder for the paper storage envelope that looks like a magazine holder?
You are not alone in having lots of paper, we love the stuff don’t we? The vertical paper holders are these from Amazon amzn.to/45rvh3G
@@CraftyConceptswithErin thank you!

What are the white wood(?) containers that will hold these plastic folders? With the slats, up top. Thank you!
Hello, are these what you are looking for? I have the paper folders in these paper holders from Amazon amzn.to/4dKBAo9
You always can find the perfect papers. How do you store and find your DSP?
