I hope you see this. I am totally cracking up that you are supposed to be teaching us how to *organize* paper scraps but you get distracted by all your scraps and start designing cards... you are SO ME!!!! 😂😂😂 Lol, that said, THIS is what I've been trying to figure out... exactly HOW to organize by size. So helpful!!
@@MostlyPaperCrafts seriously, I do this ALL the time. Or I watch a cardmaking video "in the background" while I'm being productive, then I STOP what I'm doing to go make "that card" before I forget how!! "Hey, look, a squirrel!" seems to be my life motto. 🤣
Really great video! I recently cut up a ton of old 12x12 scrapbook paper that I didn't plan on used - into many card bases and have so many thin strips left over. I took the sturdiest ones and stuck them with the sentiment stamping supplies and I took the rest and bundled them thinking I will do something with them. Using them for quilt patterns, stripes and even partial cards is a great idea and I will begin a huge project making a bunch of card bases like that. A group of women from a local church take cards to nursing centers and hospital recovery centers and can use up my donated cards easily for good causes. Thanks! Now to go see the rest of your series. This was great!
I love using scraps, something satisfying about it. Even the tiniest little pieces I sort into jars by colour, then after a while I've enough to make handmade paper from them. TFS.
YES! That sounds amazing. I love paper scraps, too. I get a kick of out having little to no waste, and it's so fun to put beautiful things together out of what would otherwise be "trash".
I love this organization set up! I will definitely be trying this out! Thank you for sharing. I just subbed recently and I have been binge watching your organizations videos. Enjoy your summer! It is so lovely to find a fellow teacher crafter! Yeah!
Hello! I've enjoyed your videos and you had mentioned about organizing your scraps. Yes, I have the struggle of scraps bin(s). So I got all (okay, most) of my scraps and cut them down -- still wanting to save as much as I could. So it worked out pretty good, but all the different sizes wasn't as much help as I thought. Granted, it was a lot more organized then before, but I hid them in one of my drawers until I could face them again. THEN, you came out with this video! Tomorrow I am cutting them down to some standard sizes and using the odds and ends to make my own useful patchwork paper scraps. Thank you! P.S. You are the only person that truly motivated me to clean up/out my craft room and organize it into its intended useful and purposeful way. I am excited to enter my room now.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this to me, and I'm so glad that I could help. I started this channel with the goal of motivating myself, so to hear that I am *actually* motivating other crafters makes it SO much more worthwhile. Thank you again ❤❤❤
Thank you for showing your scrap paper system! I recently redid mine in a different way, but the results were the same I find it much easier to find what I need.
This video is pretty timely for me because like you I have a paper tray and I seldom go through it, so just today I was trying to figure out how I was going to organize them. I have a very tiny craft room, but it I’m going to save scraps ( and who wouldn’t) I’m going to have to get them organized or someday I’ll be drowning in paper
Hi Hannah, I really enjoyed this video. I have been making a half-hearted attempt to sort out my scrapbooking room for many months now. Australia 🇦🇺 is heading into its Winter 🥶 months now so this really is a great opportunity to knuckle down to it. I am sure I will love my space even more and definitely be more efficient for it. It is also a great reason to stay inside and stay warm I am now going to look at your 2nd video for “Tips From My Craftroom “. Tfs. Best Wishes, Rebecca
Great tips! Thank you! I've been putting mine into 2 folders with dividers. One for solid colors and one for designs. They are every possible size and shape. I really like your idea of sorting more by sizes. I think I'll make a trip to Dollar Tree....
Glad to help!! I think folders are a great way, too (much better than my massive, unorganized pile), but being able to quickly flip through the little stacks has been awesome!
I love your idea!! However, I must know more details on the shelves behind you that are holding your rubber sramps!!! I'm in love with how you have them displayed. Do you have a video highlighting them?? Karen in Marshfield, MO.
Hi Karen, I think I talk about the shelves in the Craft Room Reveal video. They are "moulding strips" with a lip that I cut and nailed to the wall. Turned out perfectly!
Going to give this a try. I keep my scraps in a file box with hanging files, but the box is heavy and I am tired of bending over in my chair. Just awkward. Thanks for this organization tip.
What great scrap storage! They aren't really scrappy at all! So if you die cut something out of a piece of paper--you don't save the odd shaped paper? You cut them down to the closest size. Is that right? I love your striped and quilt patch cards! May I ask what type of adhesive you put down? If I use liquid, I get bumps or some oozes out and looks sloppy. If I use tape as the adhesive, I don't have any wiggle room! What are your thoughts?
I do cut to the closest size. I always use liquid adhesive, but I don’t use much. The Bearly Art glue has a super fine tip and let’s me squeeze out just a little bit. I never have bumps on my projects from glue. It’s my favorite!
Great system, Hannah! My scraps are in a 12x12 bin and it's overflowing. I mostly do 5x7 cards, so not sure what the A2 is. Love how you used your scrap strips for backgrounds. I need a glue that does not buckle the paper. Any suggestions? Thank you so much. Take care.
Hi Carole! I use all sorts of liquid adhesives, but for me the key is how much I use. I use a very small amount spread thinly, and it holds great and doesn't buckle the paper. Hope this helps!
Those are great ideas, thank you so much. Hey check out our group on FB, Foiling Snobs Club, you might like it and you could definitely help people in the organizing. :)
I signed out of my Facebook a year ago and haven't looked back, but if I rejoin, I'll look up your club! Honestly, the only thing I liked about Facebook toward the end was the crafting groups I was part of:)

Loving the paper organizing ideals…… love the cards too. Especially, the square card from the punch…….
Great idea
Thank you! Cheers!

Love what you are doing with your scraps, and what a wonderful way to spread some joy by donating your cards!
Cute cards using your scraps. I love playing with scraps!
Thank you, me too! I'm going to do a video soon with different techniques for paper scraps cards:)
You HAVE inspire me. Thank you I am going to give these ideas a try. My goal this year is to stop the paper hoarding and use what I have.🤣🤣
We are working on that goal together:)

I love the ideas of baskets. I need to store mine by size 💜💜💜
It’s a lovely way to organize!
I really like this system! My scrap pile is not all that big...well maybe it is. The best part is the wood dividers. Thank you!
You are so welcome! Hope it helped!
Those scrap cards are beautiful

Thank you!! What do you teach? Are you enjoying your summer? I feel like I haven't been able to take a break yet and there are only a few weeks left 😭
Great video.....I keep my scraps and sort them by colors and for me that is a big time saver......TFS
Thank you, and thanks for sharing that tip! I think that makes a lot of sense, too.
Interesting method!😊
Think you. Great way to store those scraps.
Awesome

@Terry Kyng Flixportal :)
@Tommy Lee Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I appreciate it!
@Terry Kyng you are welcome :)
My scraps live in sleeves with The Whole sheets. If I need a blue scrap I go into my blue sleeve and find it there

A2 is 4.25 x 5.5 in.
Rubber cement is my go-to adhesive for paper, & has been for over 20 years. It does not buckle it. (It smells bad, though...)
Thank you.

Did you trim up your scraps??
What about printed paper, noticed your baskets looked solid paper?!
Hi Vicki,
I put my patterned papers in there, too:)
I need to fix my mess, so I’m thinking we need to just cut our scraps down
