Not sure if you guys gives a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my brother for the last couple of weeks =)
did you have to remove the alternator and ac compressor to replace the pulley? that what i was reading you have to do, if theres a short cut that be great ot know im having the same exact noise issue and its gotten very loud this week on my 2005 avalon w/ 78,000 miles
I just replaced the belt on my 2007 Avalon. It was not easy. New belt should be fed from the top. It requires to get the belt around the alternator and around the idler pulley next to the alternator from the top. The rest can be done from the bottom. There such low clearance between the pulleys and the body that you have to put the belt vertical to get it by the pulleys. Tough job when you can only use one hand. I used the 5mm rod to hold the tensioner in the slack position. When I pulled out the rod to release the tension, the tensioner wrench hit the radiator support before all tension was released. My only option was to pry the 14mm socket off the tensioner bolt to release the remaining tension. It was if the new belt was too large. But it was a new Toyota belt. I don't look forward to having to do that job again. Before you start the car after replacing the belt, check carefully that you have the belt in the right location on every pulley. It is possible to be one rib off on the belt and that could damage the belt. I turned the engine over by hand one turn to make sure the belt did not change positions on any pulley.
Loved your video. Thank you. Diagnosing this issue right now. Hoping im as lucky.
So you replace just the idler pulley or do you replace the tensioner pulley also???
Thank you sir. Great help!
Thanks brother....getting ready to do mine.

No. I was able to replace the pulley without removing anything else
@@LewsSpeedShop im guessing you had to take the passenger wheel off and splash guard to access it?

I have a 2007 that's at 173,000 mi needs the tensioner replaced a second time and possibly an idler pulley
Good video. Was it hard getting the belt off using the tensioner? My 05 makes a squealing noise at 125,000 miles I might need to replace the belt.
No. I found it easier to get at it from the bottom of the car
