  • A short introduction to my studio followed by a painting demonstration of a floral still life in oils over acrylic. The video is in real time with audio. I start the painting using acrylic to create a vibrant underpainting then using a palette knife apply the oil paint. If you enjoy this video please subscribe to my channel. Thank you for watching. www.sylviapaul.com

    Put a curtain or screen ( canvas)that u can paint( of a nature scene) so that u dont have to see all the hardwRe(canvases) , have a small table top fountain to hear water sounds- so u can do ur master pieces.
    Love ur art. 👍
    A good artist needs a clutter free space to paint.
    Just a suggestion.

      Nirmala Jetty thank you for your suggestion. I’m actually in the process of moving to a new house and studio with a bit more space. It is a challenge to work with all the clutter at the moment I agree but hopefully it will improve by the New Year.

    Hi Sylvia, I have just discovered your art and WOW I'm in love. Absolutely beautiful. I will have to figure out how to get one on your paintings on my wall here in Australia. I'm wondering do the prices on your website include frames or not, and what is the thickness of the MDF you use?

    I have not seen oil on top of acrylic done, I like the idea - why do you do this? What do feel it adds to your pictures?

    • @sylviapaulart4135
      @sylviapaulart4135  7 лет назад

      Aino Shperber thank you. I love working in layers and by using acrylic I can get the under painting dry quickly. I love the consistency and finish of oil paint so I get the best of both.

      Some artists put glass over oils but I think that’s a shame. I’ve had no problems so far and have been doing it like this for years. I think you could varnish them after it has been drying for a few months!
