You are amazing Andrew. Not only your painting is the quality of the old masters, but your sharing of your techniques is above and beyond generous. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Andrew... Honestly..... This is the BEST art channel on RUclips when it comes to painting. Both your simple explanations on all things to do with everything relating to painting and your obvious love of painting and how much you inspire me to keep on painting and to be more patient. Keep it up. P.s. your still lifes are my favourite videos just because i love painting still life the most . Although all of your videos are amazing. 🙂
Hi Andrew, it has been a while since I have communed with you on your channel, but as you know I am an avid follower of your work, and this lesson, like all your other tutorials, is truly wonderful to observe. I really love how you set up the still life to begin with, and arranged the lighting too. As always your tuition and painterly techniques are extremely masterful and I really enjoy watching how you progress your style and I love listening to your commentaries as you describe each step you take and the reasons you give for taking specific approaches to the chosen subject. It is also interesting to note that for me, your methodical approach to realism is highly phenomenal and your incredible skill is one that sets the bar for others to attain to, when it comes to helping others to improve their skills. There is always something to learn from you, and I for one, am very grateful for your intuitive endeavours and for the fact that you share so much in depth knowledge with us, your audience. Much love and respect to you and your lovely family. Paul.
I have to say, watching you grab a freshly picked leaf with pears and how you cut the box and created the light source was a feast! Before I knew how you created the setting, the thumbnail struck me as an old masterpiece. Love it!
I am a big fan of your work. You've been a great inspiration to me. It's the best way of learning basics to advanced fundamentals of oil painting. It helps in every aspect. Currently I am working in Acrylic medium. Soon I will start working in Oil. Keep up this generous work Sir.
Maestro gracias por complementar mi camino artístico.... abundancia, prosperidad, amor, salud, alegría, armonía,.....para usted y su familia...hare krishna
As an alternative to lead white, would adding a wee bit of yellow ochre and/or some chalk help tap down some of titanium white's opacity and punchiness? I've used lead white in the past and loved it, but just can't really use it when my studio is my bedroom, haha. Definitely need to pick up some transparent yellow/red oxide, as well - looks really useful. This is an awesome video, Andrew! Thanks so much for sharing.
Your videos are great and I would like to repost your channel exactly as it is available on RUclips. If this sounds interesting to you, please respond to me. Many thanks!
I did a search for pears in oil paint and hit the jackpot! I am self taught and just subbed. There are so many YT painters that paint with chunks and slabs of color, I love the subtle blending and layering here. Absolutely stunning work!
The swoosh of your brush appears to my eye to be the waving of a magic wand! Simply beautiful . . . thanks for sharing such masterpieces with us, Andrew!
Love love your work your paintings are just jaw dropping gorgeous! Would love more examples of some sort of still life. You choose. Will enjoy. Thank you
Thank you Andrew! Love watching you paint. Love your videos. Love to see you again. Thank you for the still life videos. So appreciate all the info. I'm interested in painting still life myself. And I find your method so interesting. Thank you for sharing.
Stunning still life setup! And that tip to use the back of the brush for fine detail? Must try! Ive been struggling to find the right tool for fine details. Thanks Andrew! So many amazing tips here.
My palette changed completely after listening to your advice. My results are from another world. Thanks also for inviting Virgil Elliot to your podcast, his counseling is priceless, and also a big changer for my technique and material’s choice
What I never understand is how people cover the whole surface of that size with such little paint, if the mediums are only only a small amount of the mix, how is this possible?
They don't talk about it, but they do indeed go through a lot of paint to cover those surfaces. It might be where the biggest cost of paint comes from, the initial covering of the surface.
He is a dear lovely man. Today he visited us with a wonderful gift. The original oil painting that he had brilliantly framed. We will treasure this master piece, thank you Dear friend. 🙏
This painting for sure looks like one of the Old Masters. I think it's the colors, of course it may be the technique . I do some painted in oils, but I don't feel like I qualify to be called an artist. Just not that talented😢.... love love love your work. Thank you for your unselfishness ❤ which is highly appreciated.❤❤ keep them coming🥰
You said something about you wanted to create an Old Masters vibe. LOL my own words. ( Well you nailed it) 🤪 I can't really say , how many times I've watched this video and every time I do, I've learned something new❤.. which is to my delight. Thank you❤
Gorgeous. Hopefully I find the courage. I already know from past experience that my expectations must be in check and it will require lots and lots and lots and lots of practice. I think I have maturity now to get started, but these videos are very incentivizing and informative.
Definitely at one point, but latest when I have my studio and don't have to sleep anymore in the place I work in, I will try oil painting ... I have to. My fingers always start itching when I see your videos. 😅
This video helped me to decided to buy your "Simple Still Life Tutorial". Great job! I painted the onion and the apple, moving on next to the pears. Thanks well done, and easy to follow.
I will definitely try the shadow box, Old Dutch Masters Technique. It is so great to be able to see how it allows its subject to glow and be significant. Rosie Hoy New Zealand
Amazing work, I have a question, did you used varnish or some another stuff before starting next layer or just let it dry for 24 hours ? (apologize for bad english)
You are amazing Andrew. Not only your painting is the quality of the old masters, but your sharing of your techniques is above and beyond generous. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Wow, thank you
Your enthusiasm is contagious and absolutely motivating, besides the fantastic quality of your videos and teaching! I send you a thousand likes!
I second this sentiment. You're awakening so much beauty in my life with art. I'm so grateful.
Absolutely wonderful what is the name for this type of painting that looks like it was made in the 1400s
Awesome, so I want to paint thee most boring pieces of art in the freakN world. I'll buy your course !!!!!!!!!!!!

You can say that again! However I sadly can say we're not friends. I only see him on RUclips. You never know! LOL
I wanna work as your assistant. Please hire me.

My pleasure 😊
New video release yesterday by Florent Farges, AND a new video about glazing by Andrew today?!?! I thought Christmas was still 5 months out.
I knew it! You are a reincarnation of an old master in person! Not sure which one. 🙂
Haha! One with boofey hair... That doesn't really narrow it down... 😂
Your enthusiasm is contagious and absolutely motivating, besides the fantastic quality of your videos and teaching! I send you 1000 likes!

I'm speechless at how beautiful your paintings are. Thank you for sharing such quality art as always!
Glazing with those transparent pigments was very thundergun.
You are an excellent teacher. Appreciate your energy and details!
Thank you, truly enjoy your class and the painting!
Hola Andrew, es un pintor extraordinario, de lo mejor que he visto, sin trampas ni atajos.
Solo pedirle que subtitule en español, por favor 🙏
How did the painting progress from brown hues, 12:46 to the final yellow hues? You seemed to have jumped or changed a chunk.

Hi Andrew. I was wondering is your content on Patreon all in Timelapse or in normal time. Love your paintings.👍🌹
Following your last two wonderfully instructed videos, I finally decided to build my own still life box, and I love it. Thanks Andrew !
Yes, those pears do look good enough to eat! Learned some new techniques. Many thx, Andrew!
Thanks so much!
I don't understand what a 'glaze' is, is it a clear medium you brush on your whole painting ?
Your videos are great and I would like to repost your channel exactly as it is available on RUclips. If this sounds interesting to you, please respond to me. Many thanks!

Incroyable talent nature morte magnifique
If you don’t frame your painting, do you then paint the edges?
How do you mount that panel your painting on ? What type of easels do you recommend and use?
What’s best brush for the glazing?
You shared a great vodeo with us, but did your dog get the pear when the painting was finished?
Haha! That dog has food on the brain 24/7!
Love love your work your paintings are just jaw dropping gorgeous! Would love more examples of some sort of still life. You choose. Will enjoy. Thank you
