This painting sure made me feel good :) Just amazing to watch you work and develop the masterpiece! Beautiful talent and creations. Thank You for sharing with us all.
Thank you Sylvia for this wonderful artwork and commentary. It is a real pleasure to watch you create this artwork of a bluebell woodland. I love painting woodland scenes too, but it is interesting to watch how you managed the various layers that appeared to be a dance in paint as you moved around the stage of lights and darks bringing the painting to its final creshendo. Simply beautiful. Works for me. May I ask, how did you go about getting your paintings accepted by a gallery? Perhaps this could also be a tutorial video of your journey as an artist.
Hi Paul Thank you for your lovely comment. I’m so pleased to hear you enjoyed watching the video. As to getting in to galleries it’s a difficult thing to know how to go about it. I’ve been painting for a very long time and initially I was advised to applied to open exhibitions to get the work seen and to have something to put on a CV. I tried many times for the exhibitions at the Mall Galleries and had a lot of rejections but then some got accepted so it helped to get seen. Also I set up my own exhibitions in galleries that you hire and got some work in to local galleries. It was very gradual and there were lots of rejections. Social media these days seems to be a good way to get noticed but it’s so competitive isn’t it. The best galleries seem to be the ones that come to you because they like your work but they need to see it. So get your work out there as much as possible.keep painting as much as you can and enjoy it. Keep improving.
