Pretty surreal to see this game played to completion, despite being a huge Sunken D fan -- someone was always bound to screw it up or lag out, in my experiences lol. In any case, I pretty much played just like Blue; those Hydralisks boasted consistent damage against every unit type, which supplemented my maze well. For special units, Guardians were my go-to. Spells like Ensare were invaluable, as well. Felt like I had my strategy just right, yet I can still respect the way people made their shit work proper. :3 Poor Orange, though; that kill deficit sure snowballs in later rounds lol.
lol for real, i watch one star craft clip randomly then get barraged with a bunch of random custom game videos that i haven’t thought of in years, but im not even mad at it. i finally got to see the volcano run game completed..
Amazing seeing a team of 6 not leak a single unit. EVERY game I'm in, no matter what version, 1-3 people leave within the first half and 1 person eventually leaks every time.
man i was trash at this game when i was a kid but i loved it. i feel bad for all the people in the lobbies i joined who had to babysit my lane cause i didnt know wtf i was doing but was having a blast. my apologies to all of u lol
Like in 2003 -2009? I played off and on, but didn't mind helping people as long as they were trying to learn. I'd invite them back after a games worth of suggestions. If you were one of them, then we all were at some point, and it's all good:) fond memories even of lost games. GG
my favorite part about watching these og starcraft videos is when people talk to each other thru the in game chat. you can tell by how people talk that they’re probably pretty cool irl lol
Orange doesn't have the right idea. Lurkers do help spread damage but once the units escape that containment, then he gets nothing. The only time I would justify lurkers is if there are dogpiles that units stay packed in for longer than usual or I can keep everything in a line to spread the damage evenly. I would have just used my Civs to get Ghosts (like you did since Lockdown helps on higher mechanical waves and they do full damage to enemies the Sunkens do half to) or Scouts to fly around and pick off stragglers.
actually in most sunk maps the ratio of lurker to hydralisk differ when using them. in most harder maps, hydralisk are a better investment in the beginning, unless they cost two civs.
Fucking amazing game. Spent hours as a child playing this. No stacked? Marines and bats upgraded was always best. In a perfect maze. Could win this with 2 people if you were skilled enough
When you play these it’s as much about style as it is building a good defence. You want everything to fit perfectly and be symmetrical etc. He wasn’t going for hydras and so he didn’t want to make his defence look ugly with a random hydra in there. He accidentally got those hydras. 1 hydra isn’t going to matter at all either.
It’s killing me watching you click everything and select every unit individually. Takes wayyyy too long. Hotkeys and keybinds are a thing for a reason. Btw did anyone else notice teal was just walled the whole time? I don’t see why they didn’t attack
It's how the AI works. They don't attack until they are stuck for a couple of seconds. That's why brown kept getting attacked. Even though he didn't wall, the units were getting stuck. And even though teal walled, the units were never stuck.
back in the day if you werent skipping every round you were getting yelled at. that's why at one point dude was like "can we skip???" especially if you're in control of the game speed, it's kinda courteous to others to know the keybinds and try and keep pace to the others
If you played back then for defense games you didn't really need to worry about keybinds. Alot of us got pretty far on ladder games without keybinds, at least I did for a while.
By any chance do you have any turret or marine defense maps? I just found out about this remastered version so i immediately bought it (to re live my early 00s days) only to find no one is creating UMS maps :(. I honestly should have known better since this game is a relic hehe. Either way Id love to play it myself
do the crazy light blinking team colors still exist in bw remastered? or does the remaster not have the glitchy team colors anymore (are the invisible beacons still a thing?)?
Lol these games were awesome 20 years ago... but you'd always get that one fuck who leaks half his lane and the other guy can't stop it all. Or someone builds paths too narrow and ends up getting wiped by the waves. So frustrating.
This was one of my fav maps 20 years ago and its fun to see it still being alive at the remastered version :) ...but did they kill the "lights out" mode? :( just asking out of curiousity because that most literally what made this map unique for me xD no clue if it was the first one with this feature, but yeah... it was and is still impressive how the map makers were able to bend the laws of the game and create so many unique maps
Yeah maybe I cant remember what it's called. It's up to 6 ot 8 players but you need at least 4 on for each corner. Then you use the marines to make a route to force the enemies through. And stick some stronger ones in
Waves only attack if the A.I. thinks someone walled or blocked their path to the other side. They are instructed to move to the other end. If they stop moving, their next default action is to attack.
I remember this shitty map back in the day. Although to see people STILL play this garbage in 2017 is pretty laughable. The game is 20 years old, that's two fucking decades. Get with the times and play a real video game like Overwatch or Fortnite!
I used to play these games when I was a kid because I sucked at the regular pvp
its funny how we do that but really we didnt suck, we just didnt have any practice and gave up to people who did
@@cIeetz I gave up brood war because I can’t f2 a move lol
To be honest these games alway we're more interesting than PVP to me. Was a big fan of Cat vs Mice in the days lol
@@Alzakielz Give me Racoon City, Halo, Starship Troopers, and Cat v Mouse over pvp any day! Also those strip maps were always hilarious as a kid lmao!
my record on pvp was something like 5000w/500l but i loved UMS maps way much more, i was a fan of impossible games, played for 10 years
"Build a good base instead."
*slaps forehead* OF COURSE! Why didn't I think of that?

where are u playing sunken d nowadays? i remember looking for it a while back and couldnt find anyone playing
I'd just look for an open lobby. It was a different version of the map nearly every time too.
brown leaked on scvs? unless leak means lose?
Lol when you MC Orange's base. His base was pretty creative though towards the end. I thought it was pretty creative

The UMS community needs more exposure man
It fell off so hard in sc2

orange has a bad base, I always used mass lurkers and archons for gaps in the same base type red had, never leaked once

What is the purpose of hydralisk sitting in overlord all the time?

Tower Defense except you're abusing their pathfinding ai with corners instead of their bodies with bullets.

holy f- i played this to the ends of the world
If you stop their path, say, a wall of marines making impossible for Ultralisks to pass, will they attack or what? Amazing minigame btw.
The trick to wall is just kill fast as possible.
This map can be beaten by 1 person I did with mass lurkers

get units to keep and it also counts as an instant kill
I like these graphics versus the American version.

how do i use the map that ive now downloaded
