The delayed reaction time in the range rover is due to throttle sensitivity lags when you go WOT, it takes a second or two for the car to accelerate, plus their is no launch control offered as well the car wasn't meant to drag race but it definitely isn't slow!
You are right... I have this exact model and there is quite a bit a lag when you floor the accelerator because its a "fly by wire" electronic throttle. That is why I installed a throttle controller that has setting for Econ, Norm, Sport and Ultimate Sport..... now its a blast to drive and very very fast!
Considering that the RRsport driver's RT(Reaction Time was about half of the Porsche), the extra 900lbs it weighs versus the Porsche and the fact the the Porsche is tuned with 90 more horsepower and still ended in the close finish but just because the Porsche crossed the finish first doesn't mean its faster. You need to look at the ET(Elapsed Time) it took to finish the 1mile track! Oh yeah the RRsport had a passenger during the race. Now with the MB ML63 AMG.... the RRsport weighs almost 500lbs more and has 15 horsepowers less and still beats it in ET(Elapse Time). This should tell you that the RRsport has a beast of an engine! I should know because I own a 2012 RRsport supercharged.
I absolutely agree (, and a bit jelous, because the 2. gen RRS is my dream :) still that beautifull shape, but with fixed problems, and more usefull engines with better gearbox. I don't really like the new creamy RRS, even though it is faster and lighter..)!

For everybody who asks the same question.. this is not a normal race like, who's the first over the line they make a difference between the actual mile and the reaction time at the start. as you can see, the range reacts a bit later as the porsche, thats why the porsche is ahead, and stays ahead however, the range was still accelerating when he crossed the line. if the course was longer, he would eventually had overtaken the porsche.. the range would have been first if he had a better reaction

That's why even though the Range passes the 1 mile mark after the Porsche, it wins. Because it took less time to pass through the checkpoints, with a timer starting when the driver actually accelerates.

Because the win/loss screen goes by Estimated Time, not Reaction Time+Estimated Time.
