I love the idea of useful acronyms. One I use while journaling is DREAM (Draw, Record, Explore, Analyse, Memorise). I find it easier to first draw an image from my dream, and then start recording details. Then I daydream a bit about the dream (explore), and I look for patterns (analyse). Lastly I try to memorize my dreams, at least so that I can recall some from the top of my head.
I will experiment with the FATE system. Thank you for sharing Daniel. Hope it's going to he as helpful as ILD and CORE
Thanks!
Thank you so much Tobias, I hugely appreciate your support!
Thanks in advance will watch later 👍👍
Thank you so much Alpha, you are (as always) awesome!!!
I was recording my actions and remember my environments, I didn't even think of recording thoughts and I don't remember my feelings, I felt clickbaited at first but I guess I'll start working on fate system for lucid dreaming
Thank you so much for this! I’ll definitely be putting this to good use - I tend to forget the thoughts / feelings aspect.
As Kyle Reese said, “There is no FATE but what we make for ourselves.” 😉
Is there a difference between waking reality and dreaming? I know there's a quote, not sure if it's a line in ETWOLD, that references that
Wow, I've been AWOL. This is another great video. The one I'm a little stuck on is Actions. Usually my actions differences between waking and dreaming are fairly subtle but my reactions are more pronounced which I guess could be considered actions. There are times where my actions or reactions are vastly different and that sometimes helps me understand that I'm dreaming.
i had this lucid dream or what i think was a lucid dream. I was in a car on a rainy day, looked at the wheel and my hands were weird looking. I think i snapped and then i went into a full superhero arc thing with a whole villain and everything. Although i did kinda trespass on His property. Was this a dream or was i lucid
I thought the F was going to stand for "feeling" (no s) as in the "feeling" of the dream. Because every single time I've had a lucid dream for the last three months, and many times before that, I've known to reality test because of how I physically felt in the dream. (Also, I'm currently on a streak of LDing every two days because of this!)
My head just feels fuzzy, but also pressure-filled, and somehow numb in ways heads don't feel while awake.
That's kind of stupid. Last night I was Wednesday Addams, my grandfather was Richard Gilmore, rabbits had hidden red eyes under their fur, and I could zoom into physical maps like pictures. Yet, as I stood as Wednesday in Richard's office and prepared to enter the attic I'd zoomed into on my map, I got the head feeling and only THEN did I question if it was a dream.
And yet it works. For now.
I like your "feelings" point better, though. In almost a year of learning and journaling, I've never noticed my emotions in dreams are stronger. Looking back, it seems obvious. Someone offends me in waking life, I don't care and discard them. Someone does it while dreaming, I scream and cry. Knowing that should help substantially.
I have been lucid dreaming for many years now, but last night was my most realistic and controlled dream, I dreamt of sitting on a balcony with my partner but realising that it was suddenly dark outside when minutes before I was waking up on saw that it was 7am on the clock in my dream, suddenly I was walking with my parents on the street with being aware that this is not real as it was light again... at this point, I have speculated if all of this is real, I asked my father if I am in a dream, he did not answer, I checked my hands and clapped and realised that my hands went through each other, this is when I became fully aware that I am dreaming, I went on to experiment to try flying which I did and jumped on a building roof, but woke up... this was an amazing experience of fully being aware in my sleep that I was dreaming, hope to experience more of this! Thank you for your info!
While I've understood (or is the right word "known" in this case) the benefits and reasons as to keep a dream journal, I've never fully known why people keep day journals. This is just person experience here but I've always found that writing and even drawing stuff out ends up making those feelings worse, especially since I would only do those things whenever I was feeling anger or really bad thoughts. I would only do it because I was told "it would be good for me." Not only that but I would never journal on my good days. It became a thing I hated and eventually would give up on.
That's possibly why I find it so hard to dream journal. I've tried multiple times but, in the end, it just feels like punishment in the morning. I would write things down and get bored of it very quickly, often going from detailed sentences to very vague and short ones. I would only do it not because it would be good for me but because I felt like I had to, therefore all of the benefits were negated.
I think this video shows that there are different ways to dream journal and that those sentences don't have to be long and drawn out. All I actually need to do is to focus on these FATE and then expand when I need to or when I get more comfortable with dream journaling. I don't need to complicate things or drive myself crazy because I don't know how to write something out. Just build up over time - I can't be perfect out of the gates.
Thanks for a great video. I'll try dream journaling again and try to get a better relationship (probably not the right word but my mind isn't fully there right now) with it. I hope I can keep it up this time with this new guidance!
This dude is so funny and can also teach me about lucid dreaming!
Thank you for your info. Here some support for your work. Unfortunately I have none pre lucide dream for a while. while I do a lot of reality check and have a lot of recall. Is this normal?
Thank you so much Jim, I really appreciate it!
Yes, that is likely to be quite normal. It may be that you need to retune your reality tests a little. They are a simple practice but there is a lot of small subtleties that could be missed.
@@LucidDreamPortal okay i keep more focus on my test now. Thank you for your answer
@@jimvanhall217 I'd recommend really focusing on the mindset.
@@LucidDreamPortal but I don't understand how you can train critical thinking and logical thinking. is also in your lucid dream book? I want to buy that in the future
about your short yesterday, i had no lucid dream but very vivid dream😎
@@jimvanhall217 It does take time, you might find these books offer a useful starting point: www.thelucidguide.com/post/6-books-to-help-you-think-clearly
I will definitely incorporate this into my journal and reality tests =) this seems especially good for what I rely on which is regained awareness dreams. Love that music at the start 😍😍😍 thanks again for your info x
Thank you! This is GOLD! I have been freaking out a bit recetly because I've been catching myself doing RC's mostly when I'm scared that something might be a dream - and unless I'm mistaken, I don't think that's what I should be focusing on... This advice might turn things around for me!! It does sound like fun 😊
Hii, I started being a bit frustrated with LD, I have been trying consistently for 17 days without success, using reality checks, dream journal, and wild, WBTB and mild, and yes I made sure that I was making my reality checks without being on auto mode, the biggest obstacle for me is that I take a lot of time to fall asleep, so with mild, it's hard to keep thinking about what you're going to dream tonight for 40min, and a lot of times when I use methods that include sleep disruptions, I just can't fall back asleep(I am a really light sleeper) is this normal? The thing that annoyed me is that I really tried my hardest, only progress that I made is that I am remembering at least a dream a day, and I had dream awareness(not lucidity tho) on 3 occasions. And thank you for your content, truly the best LD teacher on RUclips.
don't worry it's normal, also you don't really need tecniques to lucid dream, i for example rely solely on reality checks, dream journaling and observing my dream journal for things like dream signs. Tecniques are mostly just a way to get lucid dreams fast, but they aren't meant to be used everyday i believe. And i recommend you stop using tecniques that interrupt your sleep, it seems they just aren't for you, plus they might make you have less rem if you use them too much (rem is the stage of sleep when you dream)
and it might takes more than 17 days to really start lucid dreaming for some people, i was unlucky like you, i couldn't lucid dream at all, but after years of giving up and coming back to lucid dreaming i learned that the key is being persistent, i know it might be hard to keep a good sleep schedule, dream journal every morning and doing reality checks everyday, but if you persist i'm sure you will become very good at lucid dreaming
@@isaquedopao6667was curious on how lucid dreaming as been going for you and what kind I reality checks you do and how long you do them.
i been writing every techniques to lucid dream and some of them worked and MILD and WBTB now maybe this may work
oh and lucid dreamer why do you keep like chaning the screen or fliping it

Great advice on how to construct a summary of waking and dreaming events
Hey I need some help. I’ve heard stories of people expanding their dreams very very long. How do you do that?
Hi Daniel what's up , I was a lucid dreamer and actually got some in the past but because of school and stress I didn't write in my journal do reality tests or anything related to lucid dreaming so how do you think I can kick start this skill again like get back to it
Very nice!
I've started back up with trying to lucid dream after stopping for a while. A concern I have is that I might be building bad habits with reality checks. I try to check every time I think "am I dreaming?", or something along those lines. My problem is that I think that about every 15 minutes. Should I be reality checking if the only thing indicating that I should is a thought like that? It's just been hard during those times to truly question my reality.
Yeah every 15 minutes is far too often, and not a healthy (or useful) approach - it would just lead to mindless reality tests. The idea is to catch yourself when you are in a mindless state, and snap out of it. Only reality testing when you are clear headed is like training an already trained horse. You'll never be in a clear state of mind in a dream, therefore you need to train the unclear mind during waking hours... train the untrained horse.
@@LucidDreamPortal Thank you, that's really helpful.
Is it okey to do a dream journal on my phone?
Bro I love the voice crack
ARE YOU GOOD DANIEL THAT VOICE CRACK!
All good thanks. Not sure what/where the voice crack is - but it could easily be the noise reduction software going a bit wonky, or the need for a cup of tea. Don't worry! :)
@@LucidDreamPortal thank you for the amazing videos😊😊😊
Very nice video. Thank you :)

There is no question - this is huge - I applied this last night and the results were very powerful and revealing.
Really pleased you see the value in this Robert. These are the subtle fingerprints we're looking for as detectives of the mind.
@@LucidDreamPortal For me, I think, the key is feelings. Literally like a key to unlock a door to my actions, thoughts and events. Recalling my feelings - recalls my dreams. I think this is also very powerful for the daytime experience. I regain and maintain my waking dream, which I do not always see - experience. Feeling is the secret. Feeling draws me out of a fog.
Hey, I'm curious, how many hours per night do you sleep on average?
Generally 8 hours. Occasionally more. Rarely less.
Hello and thanks
Ooh, I like this
Bedankt
Thank you so much for this priceless advice, Daniel !! Beautiful music in the video as well !
Thank you so much Cleo, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. You're a star!!!
I’m ready to be a pro, can’t wait to watch!
Hey, should I expect to naturally get more lucid dreams overtime as long as I at least stick to the foundations (dream journaling, proper reality testing, etc.)? Or will I eventually need to “up” my practice because I may plateau?
The foundations and time should be enough. That process alone will help you to understand how your own mind works. That said, you will need to be flexible as your psychology and lifestyle changes over time.
Hi again! I have a question i've been wondering for many years, and i'm yet to get an answer.. How do i know if i'm dreaming about lucid dreaming? Most of my lucid dreams are me realizing i am dreaming, but waking up and feeling like the dream was still ''auto-pilot'', or else i would've this and that if i actually was lucid. Any ideas if it's just me or?..
it's normal sometimes your lucidity is just very low, or you just know that you are dreaming but don't realize the implications of it, so you keep going on auto pilot.
I'm not sure how to fix it though
He has a video about false lucid dreams now btw
Hey Daniel, you will make also a video about Carlos Castañeda technique for lucid dream?
Hey man, what happened to some of your videos? The fake lucid dream video, your music video, the video where you read a book for 8 hours, and your guided meditation? I liked those!
Hey Russel, a fair few videos are now member content - it's my way of thanking those who support the channel.

I'm scared of lucid nightmares and sleep paralysis what do I do
If you have sleep paralysis, don't panic just keep your eyes closed while slowly imagining yourself reconnecting to your body. If your scared of lucid nightmares then you need to learn stay calm, you only get nightmares if you panic so no matter what stay calm
@@RealJSM10 for sleep paralisys i heard you can just imagine you are in a dream and engage all of your senses, and you will start actually dreaming
My video stopped right before you said the acronym, I thought it was a deliberate cue to reality check, and it was quite bizarre indeed
Just wanted to share but I watched your overnight guide and it worked and you have helped me and even though I suck at dream journaling you have helped me get countless lucid dreams in like 1.5 months so thank you a ton and once u start my job I will for sure join the payment thing
Thanks GingerSnap, I really appreciate you taking the time to share this, it means a lot. Definitely try and up your dream journaling, as you'll find that makes things even better for you! And I look forward to seeing you in the member streams sometime!
