Nice, informative video. I just test drove a 2020 Titanium. Currently owning a 2.0 optioned 2017 Escape Titanium Awd. I really like the redesigned version. My 2017 is has been a fantastic daily driver. You mentioned the 2.0 requires 93 octane. I run mostly 87 without issues. Found in my owners manual. To obtain maximum advertised horsepower. 93 octane is suggested. Really like the 2020 Escape, but decided to wait until Ford sells off the previous 2019 model and start offering discounts for the 2020. Currently a whopping $500.. I think Ford did a great job with it's redeign inside and out. The 2.0 is a solid engine and is my engine choice. Reading some dealer material. Ford says the 2020 will run 0-60 in the upper 6-second range due to vehicle weight reduction and 5 more horsepower. Basically I see the Escape as a crossover/hatch back sedan. A replacement for the sedans. Again. Thanks for the detailed information

I saw one of these driving, and me, being a car geek, was surprised that I was unsure what it was, all I could see is that it was a Ford. Looked it up and boom. New Escape. Very nice

I picked up a 2020 escape se a few months ago, so far I love it, good amount of room, fairly quick for being a 3 cylinder. Only complaint is the 8 speed transmission, they could have done a little better on the programming. It hunts for the right great constantly and up shifts way too early sometimes and I’m constantly having to give it gas to shift back down to get up to speed efficiently. It goes into park rough sometimes and periodically going from reverse to drive it shifts a little hard. Not the best design but overall it’s a great car.

I always thought the front end looked Tesla-ish if the front didn't have the grill, too (I thought it was just me). To me this remodel is a lot better than the previous gen as it had gotten very old and dated. Seeing that passenger cars are no more in the U.S. for Ford, this is a great substitute. And having a more rugged small crossover option coming to be sold along side the Escape is smart of Ford. Not to mention the eagerly awaited return of the Bronco.

Definitely a styling improvement over the previous Escape. The rear panel fit gaps look a bit iffy, not to the high standard of Toyota or Honda.

Great review. Looks like Ford has a winner - if it doesn't have any transmission issues that the Focus had. That DCT on the Focus is awful. Glad to see the standard collison, BSW, ACC on all trim levels also.

I think Ford will dump that bad idea Ecosport and bring the Ford Puma over Europe (call it Ecosport, I don't care) and it'll make a great entry level crossover to the redesigned Escape (since that's already the case in Europe - Kuga and Puma).

i still have a sore spot against the escape, i had an escape from the 2nd generation/body style with the 4x4 off road package and it was my fav SUV ever, i have owned 2 cars since. im still mad that they ruined the small size SUV into a stupid crossover car with no off road ability what so ever....

I have one. It was great til about 40k miles. Then things started going wrong. Electronics have a mind of their own and do all kinds of weird things. Drive mode system doesn't work half the time. I try to go into a mode and it says "driving modes not available". Driver side door hinge literally snapped for no reason. Ford refused to pay for it. It cost me almost $1000 for their shit quality hinge because they said they had to replace the door panel or something like that. Cheap plastic under carriage on one side fell off. I discovered its just all cheap plastic held on with cheap plastic clips. If I could go back in time I would not buy this vehicle again.

This redesign is horrendous that 3 cylinder engine is going to be a mess like every engine that starts shutting down cylinders. And adoption of a CVT transmission really? The biggest reason I went Ford is because Ford and Mazda are the only two people actually making real transmission .Ask any Nissan rogue owner about the boring unreliability of cvts . Ant that monster 2.0l engine they are selling as top end was a 1000 dollar option on my 2017.... They ended the success of this line

Designs are copied throughout the industry. Look at the Nissan Titan that looks similar to a F-150. The Hyundai Sonata body lines. It looks similar to a Fusion. I think the new Escape has a Fusion style front end with some Kia Sportage with a small amount of Porsche Cayenne from the hood and headlight design sprinkled in.
