Josh Lava +1 on that! Some car makers do a better job of getting the panels to look more closely matched. I have noticed Ford vehicles are one of - if not the worst at color matching different materials though.
Good points from everyone. One additional reason for the color difference is that sometimes the bumpers may be painted by the supplier so they are not painted at the same time as the rest of the car.

Gotta love doug for including the translation intro metric measurements into the video
Ford executive :- "What if we took a Focus and made it... Larger?"
Not a new concept, Ford has done it for years
And lower to the ground
They shouldve made a ST option

14:14 No mention of the rear seats being adjustable(forward and back) and reclinable?
DJ Yoes you beat me to it. My wife just test drove one of these. We discovered the sliding rear seats for more knee room.
Confused Europeans: "but that's a Kuga."😨
Thanks for doing this. Now to find a Lincoln Corsair.

Doug, I’ve noticed you as well as some other reviewer‘s seem to find the pocket on the back of the front passenger seat so perplexing. I’ve always thought the addition of that pocket was so the driver could easily retrieve whatever they needed from there. Passengers don’t need such a convenience as they are not driving. Just a thought. Keep up the great work
It makes sense but I think it would be a given to have both. It's very odd indeed
Some say Doug DeMuro has the worlds largest collections of Short Pants.
MINOXIDIL EXPRESS Doug has a great set of knees, but only gets a 4 out of 10 in coolness.

hey man mad props to your videos, our managers dont like the word coming out but they literally tell the fng's to watch your videos and learn them near verbatim. your a great channel
Front looks like a Porsche Macan, rear looks like a Jeep Grand Cherokee
You missed one quirk and feature! The rear seats move forward if you want more cargo room and backward if you want more knee room
Mike Crimando that is a great feature in my opinion.
That is actually a great feature
More like: the seats move forward if you want less leg room, and backward if you want your leg room back.
The key pad is one of the best features of my wife’s Expedition.
Jean Phil My 17 escape doesn't have that, I have a standard key. So when it's cold, i can start the car, then lock it via the key pad so it doesn't get stole.
@Jean Phil You can lock the key fob inside.
I detailed my wifes car this weekend. There was a pen in every pocket, cubby, and compartment. Rather than digging through diapers, doggy collection bags, sunglasses, travel games, (we have 3 schoolage chidren) and various other flotsam; I would love for there to be one convenient place to store 1-2 pens.
Doug: Here’s why the new Eacape is awesome

i still love the look of my 2010 escape.
I miss my 2017
The new bronco sport would be right up your alley.
This look like the Mazda that's been out for a few years now
Mazda looks way better

When I was in Florida in November 2019, I rented this exact type of car, a titanium hybrid and it was great.
9:29 - this is fot the parking ticket. here in europe when you go to a public parking you are given a ticket perfectly sized for that hole. this feature is in every ford here

When it flashes up, “cool factor”, does anyone else notice that the paintwork is 3 different shades?
Yup, rear hatch and front bumper look very different from the rest of the car.

The keypad is my favorite feature on my Ford Escape.
How do you like 3-cylinder engine?
@@spol1622 It’s only the base S model that comes with a 3-cylinder. I have the model one up from base, the SE which comes with a 4-cylinder, and that little car can MOVE.

That's what I'm saying man! I dont think the design is that cookie cutter, or bland. I quite like it.
ComedyForestTv I thought the same when I first saw it. Kind of looks like a Macan I really like it haha
14:51 nothing screams Ford more than really poor stitching quality. Yikes
I didn't notice that until you pointed that out but now it's actually horrendous. thanks lol, i'ma just get a German car instead.
Was gonna comment the same thing.
I saw that and couldn’t ignore it.
g
It is better to have a little worse stitching quality than having a German car and face reliability issues.
I love Doug's manner and lively way of going through the vehicle. I L O V E the 2020 Escape.
Dude, I swear I read "disappointment" in the title, and not "improvement" lol

Based on last month's issue of Car and Driver, so did they.
Well it is a Ford.
I honestly did the same thing
I currently drive a Ford Edge, and I love the keypad entry system. In fact I use it more to enter my vehicle and lock my vehicle than using the fob. :)
I have an '08 Explorer Sport Trac and I use my keypad to unlock it 9 times out of 10 😂
I have an ‘08 Sport trac too & love that I can get into it without needing my keys. Also have a ‘17 Fusion Energi with the hidden keypad. It’s literally impossible for me to get locked out of my car. lol
lol new cars you just lock by pressing on the door handle. and how is that 12 year old paint holding up.
Andrew Rattle yes, I know. My Fusion does that. What I’m saying is if you don’t have your key on you you can still get into the car with the keypad. You can’t lock or unlock the door handle in a New car’s unless the key is nearby. So that keypad is convenient
And my paint job is just fine thank you. Looks like a sheet of glass

instead of "Calm" mode, can we have a "Night" mode? New cars destroy my eye holes at night time with all the screens!
It had a night mode.
My 2016 Escape automatically switches between day mode and night mode. The screen goes from white to black.
Great review Doug. I do have to disagree about the looks. I think this is one of the best looking compact crossovers in the segment.
I own an SEL myself and must agree. The old model was ugly ugly. But this has Macan vibes in the styling which I can appreciate. It's sleek and looks quick and for my trim's case, is pretty quick. Fun, practical and stylish CSUV. I love it
I too thought it look like a Macan!
