That's great Greg! I'd recommend looking at the SE trim level of the Escape. It gives you the larger screen that gives you Android Auto/Apple Car Play support
When you look at a Ford focus in Australia or Europe since we don't have them here the escape is pretty much the focus Google afford focus in Australia or Europe the designs interior look very similar except the fact that one's an SUV and one's a car I prefer this any day over the Eco box
@@CarsWithSteve I want that model once we're in 2021 or 2022 because I currently drive a 2017 Ford focus SEL sedan worried about the fact that the focus is discontinued
@@agpps4usabattlefieldinfini576 It's interesting if you look at the platforms that these are built on.. It's Ford's Global C Platform for the C-Max, Focus, Escape, Lincoln MKC and the Transit Connect. A lot of these vehicles, even some off brand ones, share upwards of 60% similar parts which explains the similarities we see between models. It's unfortunate that Ford decided that sedans should be cut from the lineup but it's allowed them up to open up a different market segment with the re-introduction of the Bronco. If you're enjoying your Escape right now I'd even say give it a bit more time for the new Sync4 system to find its way to the Escape lineup!
I bought the SE and I love mine! It has great get up and go. I had the auto stop when I used to have a Chevy Cruze so I’m used to it. This car is very roomy and very comfortable.
it’s an absolute improvement. I have more “toys” on it than my Cruze had plus the Escape sits up higher. My Cruze was a lot of fun though but I always wanted an SUV.
Hi Steve, I brought this car, but I don't like this as don't have car play or any navigation system. Could you please suggest any work around for Navigation screen? Can I replace the sync screen with escape se model? Review is great and useful. Thanks.
Hi Pawan! You could look at an aftermarket install of a Sync3 media screen - your local Ford store might be willing to help. The other option would be to pick up a deck from any car audio shop and they could handle the install of it as well!
Wow i just build radio dash kit install but i dont like small radio dash kit because i cannot see or notice i gonna build new radio dash kit upgrade from 2020 ford escape s cool!
You would be a fantastic trainer for me! :) So, when you take your foot off the brake at a stop light, the vehicle automatically accelerates by itself to get up and go, right?
@@CarsWithSteve nice would probably end up with the front wheel drive s cuz all wheel drive later when it's time for repair cost more just as rear wheel drive
I have Ford Fusion and few times I had my hands on the rotary and while driving accidentally turned it to park and it actually parked. I was driving around 5 miles per hour when it stopped.
I've always wondered what would happen if you did that while driving! It's that don't push the button mentality I knew someone in school that blew their transmission when they decided to throw it in park at a high speed. Did you notice anything weird with your car after that happened?
@@CarsWithSteve Nothing happened to the transmission but had engine problem which they had to replace it. But I heard that at high speeds even if you put it on parking by accident it doesn't do anything for safety reasons. But I wouldn't try that though Lol.
The Escape has intelligent AWD so the vehicle will determine which wheels need power on the fly. There's no hard button to lock out AWD and the different drive modes will only play with stability control, traction control etc
Not without replacing the whole screen... this smaller 4" one doesn't support factory navigation at all but the larger Sync3 has the option for nav. Looking at a cost of $1,200 - $2,000 to have the screen with nav sourced and installed

@@moonhope5602 That's an interesting argument about reliability but like any engine it does come down to maintenance. Are you changing plugs regularly, getting scheduled maintenance done on time? The idea behind the 3 cylinder was to increase fuel mileage! Since the 1.5L 3 cylinder is a newer engine configuration in the Escape it'll be interesting to see if long term owners run into any issues
@@CarsWithSteve I do the scheduled maintenance on time with every car i own but it's it's not like any engine , every engine built for purpose as you explain, for fuel economy and give you power when need it, turbo charger pressure will shorter the lifespan of the engine even with regular maintenance, natural aspire engine is simple easy to maintain which we can called it like any engine, but the turbo engine which not like any normal engine which design with purpose.
