    A big thank you! General videos just talk about the belt, the axle rollers and what not but hardly talk about the capacitor and how test it. The test you provided to roll the drum by hand to ascertain that it is a capacitor problem, was so helpful. I used this video for my Electrolux dryer and this saved me 90 euros.

    Great video, many thanks. I came across it somewhat randomly. I recommend you add more keywords to the video description, something like “Tumble dryer heats up and hums but does not turn” so others can more easily find it as it’s very useful!

    Absolute legend, I've been replacing brushes on washing machines for years, and thought this was the same issue... but you can't replace the brushes on these motors because they are sealed units (I'm assuming due to the dust) so you can only get replacement motors, which cost up to £100! £7.50 off Amazon for a capacitor :D awesome work!

    My capacitors (10 and 15 uF) was under the machine lid within a metal cover. Had leaked a liquid of sorts causing an earth leakage so kept tripping RCD when turned on. Although showed the same hum symptom as in the video before deciding to trip rcd. As well as the leak, the failed capacitors seal appears warped and was only measuring 0.5 uF capacitance. Waiting for a replacement

    Got a different problem ~ I get the humming sound exactly the same, but the drum does not easily rotate. Someone put a load on without the dust filter in place and a sock or two went down into the space where it should have been . . . it seems like something has got behind the drum and is jamming it.

    Hi great video my Beko dryer won't start. When you hit the start button it makes an audible click and you can feel something move or shunt slightly but it won't start turning. I thought it might be a capacitor problem but when I turn the drum to help the motor it won't turn. Any ideas ?

    where could the problem be when everything looks like the clip. But the drum cannot be moved.

  • @HumbleFamilyTravels
    @HumbleFamilyTravels Месяц назад

    Up to the 2 minute section the same happens. But then rather than humming, it stops and indicates that the filter or tank are full.

      @@How-to-repair it's a Beko DCX93150W
      It doesn't have a capacitor where yours does, as that's where the water tank and motor are. It has an interference filter at the top of the right hand corner (looking from front) which looks similar in appearance. Maybe that has died.
