Aaravos is super creepy yet strangely irresistible, ugh the feels!
You know I originally wanted to hate him but...yeah...
Though I just want to know what the other star touched elves look like. I bet they are probably less creepy and more beautiful. I bet that they are literal goddesses living among the stars. :)

I love how obvious it is that Aaravos is just leading Viren around by the nose. Viren doesn't have a plan and is just going along with what Aaravos wants. Aaravos wants to conquer Xadia, not Viren, although Viren does have a burning hatred for Xadia, which is probably part of why he's going along with what Aaravos wants.
He also has an insatiable lust for power, something aaravos takes full advantage of throughout their dealings.

yall are so wrong it's like we're not even watching the same show. Aaravos doesn't care to conquer Xadia. Viren from the start had wanted to increase his powers, expand humanity's territory, and get revenge on a species he saw as lesser.
You can blame him for laying out the tools, but not for Viren asking for them to freaking begin with.
Viren just wants the lands that humanity was kicked out of. Hmmmm. Reminds me of a certain group from a certain strip of land.

I think he was trying to get a better understanding of Viren's desires, then he realized the dark mage didn't have a clear endgame, so Aaravos kinda winged it.

I laugh everytime this scene happens, because Viren keeps saying his noble ideals of prosperity and triumph for humans, and Aaravos is like "You're not fooling me, Viren. You want the elves and dragons gone."
SAME! That's how I've always interpreted this scene: that Aaravos is getting Viren to admit that, yeah, he wants to conquer Xadia. I mean, it is totally possible that that was never Viren's goal and that Aaravos is just manipulating him to go along with what he wants, but I'm not so sure about that. There are several moment in seasons 1 and 2 that always make me think "Okay, I get it, Lord Virus, you wanna conquer Xadia and these "noble ideals" are mostly you just trying to justify said conquering. What else is new?"

I think Viren's hostility is more against the dragons than the Elves. He trusts Aaravos, refuses to attack Lux Aurea, and his goal has always been to end the sky archdeacon's royal line.

@@raptorzeraora2632 Dragons seem more dangerous than Elves. They have huge destruction power, and not all ballistas are enchanted with gryphon eyes. Plus, it's Thunder who traumatized Viren and kept humans from accessing Xadia for centuries.
I love how we can all tell that Aaravos is playing him like a slide whistle, like he’s a puppeteer playing as a puppet. That’s why I love villains who do stuff like this

The kids bringing the Dragon Prince back want to heal the wounds between the Elves and Humans, the problem is, Xadia hasn't even pulled the knife out yet.

I just love viren and aaravos in this scene as complex villains.
Viren clearly deep down doesn’t want to conquer in the end at first he truly wants his people to thrive but as he stated before it’s difficult when a ‘knife’ is being held against all of humanity. Viren is a villan who is run by fear but that doesn’t mean that’s an excuse for his past decisions but I fully understand where his motivation is coming from.
Aaravos is different on the other hand. He’s more like the devil in this scenario and how he’s tempting viren using manipulation tactics like repeating an idea over and over again till viren finally agrees. It’s easy to find evil ideas good when fear is involved especially when that fear is about self preservation. Aaravos is truly a dangerous villan as he knows how people operate and can manipulate almost anyone especially people as vulnerable and gullible like viren. I wouldn’t be supprised if aaravos knew exactly how all this would go down way before this point which is terrifying to think about.
If aaravos wasn’t around to plant ideas I wouldn’t think viren would go as far as what he did but then again this is viren. His fear alone would probably drive him down that same path anyways.
Viren made a pact with Aaravos, at the point where, as he stated himself, he had "nothink left to lose". If this isn't the clear "Aaravos is the devil" then I don't know what is. And I really like that Aaravos is not from humans, he is na Elf (or was, now he is somethink resembling devilish entity) which showcases that evil isn't onlu human thing.

Viren is trying to lie to himself that his goals are noble, but deep down he wants power, and Aaravos is the only one who can see it, and wether for his own gains or not it trying to get Viren to accept and persue his desires.

Viren's problem is that he doesn't really have any idea how to achieve his long term goal. Aaravos does. Aaravos can fill in the gap in the planning between start and stop. That's why Viren needs Aaravos. Viren is plenty powerful, although Aaravos is undeniably more so, but Viren simply isn't as good a planner as Aaravos is.

This is why Viren is my favorite character.. He believes he is protecting humanity but in actuality he’s just making things worse. His actions have further escalated the Xadian war, and yet he refuses to see how messed up he made things. He’s a villain/ but he’s definitely not Aaravos level. Aaravos killed the woman just by whispering to her.

I actually like this scene cause it shows how Viren isn't necessarily a bad guy just a person who wants what best but is being forced to take a certain pathway to achieve his goal

I wouldn't say forced. Aaravos is manipulating him but Viren is making his own choices. Viren wants the quickest way to his goal and is extremely paranoid.

I love how Aaravos cuts through all of Viren's pretention and bullcrap. For all of his grandiose about humanity and "flourishing", everything he does is driven by both fear and greed. Chronic fear of the Elves and Dragons and greed for their magic and power. Remember in Season 1 when he spoke of "taking back the great magical lands that are rightfully ours". He ALWAYS wanted to conquer Xadia.

This scene highlights how delusional Viren really is. He keeps trying to tell himself that the evils he's committed were for the greater good. Even though its painfully clear he only wants to "save" humanity to feed his ego. Aaravos isn't fooled for one bit though.

One thing that really strikes me about Viren is just how... stupidly arrogant he is. For a generally pragmatic and intelligent man, he's soooo easily manipulated. And only because of the power Aaravos can provide him. He's so wrapped up in getting his way that he barely stops to think about the EXTREMELY obvious fact that Aaravos cares about himself and what HE wants. Not what Viren wants. Aaravos is eventually going to drop Viren like a hot potato and he'll have no one to blame but himself.
On a lighter note, does anyone else just grin from ear to ear when Aaravos does that cute little gesture with his hand and says, "Viren, I am nothing if not elegant and efficient,"? Lol, he's so endlessly entertaining.

Viren is an anti villain, he did many evil and bad things because he want to make life better for the humans.
Sadly, it's only Aaravos' plan, not Viren's.
Think about Avizandum's age-nearly 100-1000 years old. He must have immense power, but it's now pointless for Viren to seek it. The stone doesn't hold power; it holds blame. Viren wanted # power and leadership ( when do they never mixed ), but since viren wants to rule by taking out the strongest dragon, gaining power from him is useless.
No more dragons mean no more power growth, only the ability to kill those who rely on magic. Viren's dream isn't even his own anymore is his real death because magic damage him making him living on magic no magic no more him.
If magic harms you, attracting attention. It wasn't Viren's choice; it was forced on him. People won't listen to him; they'll fight him because he took their power. Viren seeks to rule people, not magic.
Imagine if someone who needs magic to live no longer has magic and because if they recovered from death to alive by magic removing it would kill viren think if you filled with magic .
