Deep is definitely running his mouth here, he probably *thought* he was close to Noir because Noir very likely sat there and let him speak and the Deep assumed they were friends because Noir, being unable to speak, never told him to stop talking lmao he’s probably also making up the story afterwards about Noir after he came back from his mission.
I actually think Deep is telling the truth. OG Noir never was mean to Deep and was the only one who was sad when the whale died. Also deep was on the team for a long time so he probably knew him for years. OG noir doesn’t seem like a blank slate so I doubt he was mean to the deep like the others.

@@Lizard2176I think Deep was speaking his perception of the relationship he had w Noir (like other people are saying Noir was incapable of making fun of him so they probably weren’t friends in reality), but most of this story seems like Deep running his ‘Big Fish’ routine like he did with Starlight, purporting himself as being close w Black Noir I so he can take BN II under his tutelage.
It would be hillarious if The Deep, in his newfound high of arrogance and stupidity, accidentally turned this Noir into the psycho he was in the comics by pretending to know jack and sh!t about the original.
It would be a pretty crazy plot twist if new Noir is revealed to be just as, if not even more powerful than Homelander like he was in the comics and ends up being the one to kill because he got tired of following his orders lol.

I think he just let Deep run his mouth because he literally couldn't tell him to stop. Remember when Starlight says hello to him on the first season. He just stood there, motionless, when she stopped talking he continued walking towards his chair. The only time he somewhat speaks is when he learns that Soldier Boy is back from the dead and is hunting the former Payback members, and it was only grammarly basic written messages.
