I'm not mad at Butcher for chosing to go tumor monster after having witnessed his wife's assault baby casually kill the one person alive who treated him as his own
I agree. They play on Ryan’s child innocence way too much to explain his actions. But if he could literally kill the closest person to him other than his mother and with no remorse? Yeah idk about that. It is expected for children to get violent when upset/confused, but Ryan’s at an age where anyone would expect him to start to get a grip on it. Especially since he knows he’s a Supe. He’s just way too much of a liability at this point.
I feel bad for Ryan, he's a victim, actually they all are. But it's gotten old with Ryan and his tantrums and "Not knowing his own strength" He's killed too many people, including his own mother. Sista Sage set us all up. Had homelander on his ass crying and looking defeated. Brought his ass one ballon from dollar tree. He damn near apologized to her.
Yup and don't forget when she was shot and acting different she slammed on that table and broke it in half while basically drunk She can definitely hold her own against him or any supe as we all know all of them have super strength and super durability
Butcher is having his villain arc after witnessing his Ryan kill Grace. He has lost hope and accepted the imaginary Kessler in him. He was awakened, ready for chaos.
i doubt it was butcher after grace was dead, to me it was very clear that keester was right according to butcher, but butcher was on the brink of death (literally). however when we seeing him after that, he is all cleaned up, his eyes aren't bloodshot, and now can use the supe powers. this isn't butchers villian arc, it is literally the death of butcher and now its kessler (as seen in the final shot with butcher in the car)
Sure, it could be about power and control, but when Sage said how "fun" testing her genius was on the public, I really think it's just about entertainment for her.
@@Chuck_EL Sage's plan rested on a lot of luck i wonder if it really was her plan or just took the credit when it went that way. Sage doesnt know about Butcher's tentacles. What’s crazy is how strong Sam and Butcher are. Sam took punches from Kimiko just barely turning his head and butcher just tore through Numans durability.

There is something else people aren’t talking about, butcher is strong as hell. To be able to rip Neuman in half Who was able to tm can shrug off Homelander laser beams and can take bullets to the head. Butcher’s powers are on another level now.

I was so happy when Starlight flew away like Superman. Starlight is one of the characters that I like. I wanted her to get strong, and do more than just light up her eyes and I am happy that she will be strong in season 5. She was good this season too with throwing hands.
Biggest questions left. - where are a train and starlight hiding? - what did Kate say to Frenchie - what happened to Ashley? - where did Ryan go? - what’s homelander’s plan with Soldier Boy?
I think we all love Neuman, and its sad for her to die, but I guess she needed to go Literally this whole season is set up to be the "kill Victoria Neuman" season, I remember one of the last lines in S3 was "that b*tch has to go" and yeah, she took alot of the story ever since Season 2, she's great but Homelander needs to be the sole villain in Season 5 and it was time for her part of the story to wrap up
I was happy she died lmao, it almost felt like after the 7th episode literally everyone was joining the boys side,a train, sage, neuman, im happy it didn’t end like that
Neuman definitely is no saint....But once homelander threatened her kid, all bets were off, i was hoping she'd continue, but butcher knows how powerful she is, and wasn't going to take any chances anymore. I can't wait to see what Ashlee's powers are, and it looks like we may finally have a full power Starlight in season 5 She was struggling to fly at the beginning of the season, could barely float, now she took off flying as powerful as Homelander does.
@@ToddToTheBlackyeah I’m really excited to see what they do with Starlight now and I’m buzzed she’s powered up again, what is the endgame for this though? I’d love it if she was the one to have a final superpowered showdown with homelander but it looks like they’re more going in that direction with butcher or Ryan
Honestly season 4 got better over time, i am so glad the colin Frenchie thing stopped, not because Frenchie is bi and all of that, but because it came out of nowhere. The final episode was amazing, saved the season, the rest of the episodes from decent to mediocre Season 4 1-7 5/10 Season 4 8 10/10
I personally think s2 showed frenchie was bi and in a throuple relationship but overall it seemed like they had to give frenchie something to do with this season that tied into everyone else's arc and confronting their past given the chance to change. his was sadly the least thought out story.
Its not because it comes out of nowhere that it’s writ I’m just if it is convenient for a plot point in an underdeveloped matter which in this case isn’t
Sam absolutely bodying kimiko without any effort was amazing love that they thought back bald telchanesis girl and love sausage taking out mother milk felt personal.
Hl has to keep the sb thing kept quiet otherwise he's signing his own death warrant. It would be cool if the new president makes sb his personal secret service agent, he's literally a walking shield and ultimate deterrent against all sups
@hectorramirez5227 sb may be either mind controlled by Kate (I'd say this is unlikely cuz he resisted mindstorm) or it will be butcher and ryan vs homelander vs butcher
I think killing off Homelander is not good enough, in the finale if they make him lose his superpowers and let him stand trial for his crimes it will be poetic
What if Homelander is secretly drugged with the same drugs that Firecracker is taking? That way he becomes sick and humiliated by growing big mommy milkers

Important note: Homelander is aging and is freaked out by it, the series ends with him looking at his father who is visibly the same age, if not younger in appearance. This could factor in maybe something like blood transfusions to make homelander look younger.
i don't think they will use soldier boy for this, but i think the writers will use him to give homelander some kind of power up, he is very outmatched by now by season 3 he could feasible be defeated by 3 characters 1v1, in the 5 ryan will probably get there too, so he needs a power up for the final confrontation to have any meaning
I enjoyed the entire season. Since meeting Sage, I always felt that Homelander offered her the opportunity to actualize her hypotheses. I do not think this is necessarily a grab for power, but a scientist proving the truth of their theories. The high is being right.
Yep, she just wanted to see if she could do it, but never stopped to think if she should - the center of discussion for the ethics and morals of scientific discovery. Its really fucked up
Damn it was an amazing season finale and i gotta hand it to you guys too. You all made amazing connections that I hadn't even considered in such a short time frame shortly after the episode came out. 10/10s all around.
Its 1. Homelander Starlight 2. Sage Marie 3. Deep Jordan 4. Noir vs Cricket 5. Firecracker Kimiko 6. Sam A-Train 7. Cate Butcher with the wild card Ryan and a very special guest - Soldier Boy
I think it’d be Cricket vs Sam, Marie vs Cate, A-Train vs Sage, Starlight vs Deep, Jordan vs Noir, Firecracker vs Kimiko, then Butcher and Ryan vs Homelander and maybe Soldier Boy
Ashley will be a boys member too I'm assuming she's gonna be a Leader/She Hulk parody since the scene of her head bubbling and growing is similar to the Leader's in the incredible hulk Plus her powers in the comics is just like the Leader's
@@Chuck_EL I can see her being a she hulk parody, and after seeing other comments and thinking about it, Butcher may have to fight Homelander, Ryan, and Soldier Boy. At least in the beginning
I think sage was being 100% honest when she said "just to see if i could" she literally joined homelander outta boredom and in 8 episodes went from reading books in a dungy apartment to upending all of democracy. Shits wild
But the main question Is Why would homelander wake him up , he is his father but after season 3 finale he well knows that soldier boy wakes up he is fight him , even if he doesn't and convinces him to go against butcher , soldier boy isn't the type to just listen and work for homelander or even team up with him unless he becomes the one in control

@@adityasabnani4941 Homelander doesn't necessarily have to be the one who wakes him up. If the current POTUS knows Soldier Boy is in that facility, then i'm willing to wager that Bob Singer knows about it too.
The last episode was straight projection for what the democrats had planned in reality. It’s hard to ignore all the similarities and the release date. Like they planned to kill the president and portray the same exact thing in the boys. Guess who’s a libtard ? Eric kripke I’m honestly kinda concerned. I loved the episode but that was a little to close to reality like specific details typa thing. I don’t believe in coincidences anymore. Not big ones. Liittle coincidences ok… big ones. Kinda hard to ignore
I’m gonna be honest I really don’t like how sage is written, her super intelligence isn’t written like she’s super smart but rather like she could see the future, like how did she know any of these very specific things were going to happen, like the boys killing nueman.
Of course she knew, it makes sense that Neumann would be a defiant patsy and that the Boys would get caught on camera conspiring with Singer to kill Nuemann, so it makes sense that all of the ending outcome was according to her plans. My only issue is I wish they made it more clear whether or not it was also part of her plan to get shot by MM. Cuz I feel like when she's dumb she's not aware or in control but otherwise she was always aware and in control.
I mean, is very difficult to write a super intelligent character when you are limited to your own intelligence, i can understand why she was poorly executed tbh
Yeah, sometimes a super intelligent character is written as if intelligence is a superpower (pardon the irony). Sherlock Holmes was originally a very intelligent consulting detective who used deduction and experimentation to figure out the mystery, but later renditions turn him into basically a clairvoyant. It's lazy writing by dumb people who perceive intelligence as a natural talent or a gift, rather than something that requires years and years of hard work.
I think there might be something to be said about how the Ved up parasite seemed to acknowledge Kimiko and Starlight, but did not attack them. Seems maybe Butcher is fighting the kill all supes mentality that Kessler is bringing. He'll probably fail resisting him though in season 5, and go scorched earth. Cannot wait for the last season. I was little upset with how they were handling Hughie getting sexually assaulted literally every other episode but I think Annie's reaction is somewhat realistic. Initial shock and being upset, and then literally two scenes later she's like 'yeah I shouldn't be upset at him how could he have known.'
@siwonton284 "I think Annie's reaction is somewhat realistic. Initial shock and being upset, and then literally two scenes later she's like 'yeah I shouldn't be upset at him how could he have known.' No, Annie's reaction is stupid. Why would you be mad he proposed to a shapeshifter ? How was he supposed to know ? For all intents and purposes, he thought that was the real Annie.
@@leann9261 If by that you mean I don't understand why some people act based on emotions instead of reason and logic, then ... yes, you are right. People hardly use their brains, they let themselves be controlled by emotion, they make stupid and rash decisions based on feelings. People should use their BRAIN more often, it would literally make the world better.
It's a reference to supernatural where the actor also named Robert singer said it many times. There's even a compilation of it on yt that's like 3 minutes long
Homelander and Soldier Boy are similar. They seek validation to their father, Soldier Boy's origin and why he became supe is because he wants the attention of his father, he wants his father to be proud of him, but his father is not happy cos he "cheated" his way through it by being a supe.
Anyone ever notice the irony of the fact that the first supe Hughie killed had to be naked to use his powers and Hughie's powers also require him to be naked?
Holy smokes I just realized the rabbit that butcher let go in the basement of Stan Edgar foreshadowed what would happen to him (with the tentacled rabbit)
This is unlikely to be explored, but I wonder how other countries in The Boys' universe reacted to the USA's sudden turn with their Supes. Having Supes as celebrities is one thing, them becoming part of their government and armed forces is another. Would NATO and Europe be affected with this sudden change in the US? What about Russia and China, as well as other major countries like India, Japan, Brazil, etc. Would nukes become more important to deter the Supes? Russia and the USSR had been experimenting on Soldier Boy for decades. And Stan mentioned back in Season 2 Episode 1 how they'd need a codename for Compound V so that China doesn't find out. With how Compound V was leaked back in Season 2, I wouldn't be surprised if other major countries, somehow, covertly, managed to get their hands on Compound V at some point during Seasons 2-4, and are keeping this secret until they manage to reproduce this themselves, or are simply waiting for the right time to reveal this as a deterrent.
Ironically most American commentaries have the same issue of thinking they're the only country on earth. You'd think more would criticize that but I've seen Monument Mythos. I'm not hoping for other countries being mentioned
I read somewhere that some spin-off series are being considered, where supes are in other countries. Maybe, after what happened at the end of this season, they will talk more about what other countries are saying about the US with supes in charge!
i think other countries dont have many supes V is made by vought and used in american soil, all international supes we saw in the show were also made by vought/homelander to function as terrorists, it's fair to assume usa constrols 99.9% of the supes
I love how they set up butchers strength, from the rabbit in the woods to this. I always thought nueman would die, but that it would come from the girl in gen v who also has blood powers. When they showed how durable nueman was from the bullet to homelanders eye blast, it made the reveal of butcher taking her out easily that much more bad ass.

@17:40 Ashley thought she was "playing with" a willing WebWeaver. She even stopped when "WebWeaver said stop. She didn't do anything wrong. We don't know if she ever found out the truth.
She's sick in the head man. She's smiling ear to ear when homelander tells the deep to do what he made starlight do to himself. And she got her ex killed because he dumped her (he's an awful human too). Not to mention all the things she's witnessed from her time as CEO and saying nothing .... Daredevil wannabe having his ears burst, the coverups of sexual assaults against starlight...etc. Then in the final episode she writes of an execution list for her own coworkers and doesn't warn anyone
The Wayword Son ending Supernatural style. Kimiko says her first words. The Gen V storyline season 2 has happened in The Boys as the new members are going full force with following Homelanders vision for a new America.
One correction I wanted to point out. Ashley didn’t knowingly do that to Hughie. They thought it was Web Weaver, who would have otherwise fully consented to what they were doing. Ashley is way closer to being good than not imo.
She's actually been one of my favs this season, she is terrible but only because she's a terrified person who happened to girl boss her way into a tough spot at one of the worst places to work ever. She acts like a shallow mean obsequious person with crazy dominatrix kinks but her true nature is that she fires people she likes to keep them safe, hides evidence in order to protect people, and is generally reacting like any sane person would in an insane environment.
1) You forget that in the comic Butcher goes full villain and makes Hughie kill him. I think that's an appropriate finale for the series. 2) Ryan arc reminds me a lot at the one of Jack from Supernatural (a show created by Eric Kripke, The Boys' show runner). He was the son of Lucifer (and played by the same actor who played Rufus in Generation V) but always preferred being with the Winchesters. After accidentally killing Mary Winchester, God (yes, that one) intended that Dean (Jensen Ackles character) killed him in vengeance, but he refused, and in the end Jack was the one who defeated God, took his power and his place as an actually empathetic ruler of all creation.
You know, I have a theory about Ashley's powers. It probably won't be some kind of superpower or mutation, as far as I'm concerned it could be high intelligence. Introducing a persona like Sage is cheating, and how do you beat a persona like that? That's right, another cheater character. Ashley I think is perfect for this role, because before they have already had snacks with Sage and this accumulated hatred 100% will force against Sage in the battle of intellects. It's just absurd really, what we saw was Sage's plan, then it makes more sense to pit an equally intelligent character against her in season 5.
When you are the smartest person in the world, you want to do things just to see if you can. What’s the point of being that smart if you can’t do the hard stuff
I feel like Butcher will use the virus in an event similar to Herogasm. Like some interaction of Herogasm will appear in season 5 too (a more elaborate version of what was seen in season 2).
Ashley, said its so easy to become a Monster here, So i think the Compound V is gonna mutate her appearance as a Monster type look with Monster Characteristics, and Power-Set...

Butcher is having his villain arc after witnessing his Ryan kill Grace. He has lost hope and accepted the imaginary Kessler in him. He was awakened, ready for chaos.
Are we sure that Grace is dead? In The Boys, if someone doesn't die in the most horrible way, they're usually not dead lol
i doubt it was butcher after grace was dead, to me it was very clear that keester was right according to butcher, but butcher was on the brink of death (literally). however when we seeing him after that, he is all cleaned up, his eyes aren't bloodshot, and now can use the supe powers. this isn't butchers villian arc, it is literally the death of butcher and now its kessler (as seen in the final shot with butcher in the car)

I’m gonna be honest I really don’t like how sage is written, her super intelligence isn’t written like she’s super smart but rather like she could see the future, like how did she know any of these very specific things were going to happen, like the boys killing nueman.
My take is that she didn’t know any of it would happen, she just acts like she knew.
Here we go. There’s always a hater. 🙄
Maybe, after what happened at the end of this season, they will talk more about what other countries are saying about the US with supes in charge!
i think other countries dont have many supes
V is made by vought and used in american soil, all international supes we saw in the show were also made by vought/homelander to function as terrorists, it's fair to assume usa constrols 99.9% of the supes
I think that's the reason of why they are making THE BOYS mexico, probably to explore the F up world of the boys after homelander takes the president.
The Russians had soldier boy since the 80s. I’m sure they’ve been trying to figure out how to make compound V for the past 40 years.

season 4 was some of the best television ive ever seen in my entire life. truly incredible stuff. left me totally speachless by the end. great recap!
That's how you do a finale! Loved it! Can't wait for season 5!
When you are the smartest person in the world, you want to do things just to see if you can. What’s the point of being that smart if you can’t do the hard stuff
Black Noir and The Deep scenes were my favorite
I'm really curious to see what Ashley's power is going to be. She has always felt so powerless and helpless so it's probably gonna be pretty wild.
What's up with Firecracker's sickness? I feel like it's *not* the drugs, but a hint of something more sinister to come.

It is the drugs. She told Homelander that there were side effects.

Ryan's first kill he was broken up about killing the stunt guy but he feels nothing when it comes to grace.
Annie gets her powers back after her psychosomatic breakdown just like Tobey McGuire's Spiderman
Ryan's first kill was his Mom actually
@@mon_nobi hmm yeah I guess your right
I don’t understand any hate directed toward this season. So well done.. may be my fav one yet
It's just conservatives who just realized that the show they loved was always making fun of them. Since season 1.
But blame it on "Wokeness"
What led me to believe Sage is overall an undercover good person was her intention to cure cancer for someone she cared. Hopefully she turns on Homelanda in the end.
Minute of silence for the manbabies that wanted A-train to die
I like him but if hes gonna die it gotta be in final season.
He was the best part of Season 4
A-train chilling somewhere
I completely forgot about him while watching this episode
Did people really WANT him to die or just expect him to? I’ve been thinking he’s seconds from being put down by homelander for seasons now but I’m glad him and The Deep have made it this far, they feel so important to the essence of the show if maybe not the narrative
I find it hard to believe that Neuman was killed so easily. Especially when Stan Edgar is still alive.
Last season I was a bit frustrated that nobody died in the major confrontation at the end and it felt like the story hadn’t rly moved forward by the end of the season. Not the case here, what an awesome finale.
The Annie and Maeve forming a 7 to fight homelander and everyone theory is dope ngl
This episode was a rollercoaster for my emotions 🥲🙃 never realised it was the finale 🤦🏽♀️😫
The ending with y’all’s nirvana shirt is poetic af
