UH receives less than $3 million a year from TV rights being that it is part of the AAC. Imagine what it can do with the $40 million a year that Bama, Michigan, UT, and other schools get! These schools have nothing against UH if they are forced to compete in a level playing field against UH!

Also exposure is very important to athletes and that’s where the funding comes into play. Most top tear athletes would choose Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn state, Auburn, Michigan Etc. Any day over Houston even if they are in the SEC. Your football team is good. Just not good enough to knock off the top 3-4 teams in the SEC as a powerhouse football team. However, this is a pointless debate considering you will never be in the SEC.
