Loved it. Well put together. Tom Cruise is bonafide movie star. Jennifer Connelly is hot as. The supporting cast were exceptional. I give it a 10
I hope it won’t take ten long years for Top Gun 3 to come out.

4/10 on excitement for Top Gun 3. Not sure where the story can go from here and there is a higher likelihood of them ruining the movie

I love the part where Maverick says 2:15 and Hangman is like "is this guy for real?", then afterward he's like "damn, he IS for real!"

As much as people might hate on Cyclone for being a bit of a hardass, credit for him recognizing when Mav's methods, if unorthodox, are effective and not shutting it down.

Granted, he has a drop tank on the 18 but flying like that will still eat through your fuel, which is why pilots don't tend to go full afterburner unless they absolutely need to.
Fun fact, in Ace Combat 7 with full speed parts installed the Darkstar will easily outrun missiles.
I think Darkstar is a homage to the SR-71 Blackbird, whose missile countermeasure was acceleration, despite having a radar cross-section the size of a barn door!

What kind of test pilot goes rogue like that and keeps pushing even when told not to ? (First clip was a test pilot scene right ? (didn't watch the movie)) It's not like those advanced planes are cheap and you would want them back in one piece so you can examine the plane after a test.

Just noticed something. The front ferring of Mavs motorcycle has the Yamaha symbol. I was looking for the R1 on the rear ferring but it said Ninja which is Kawasaki.
Thats the kawasaki logo on the front. Its a Ninja H2

He had / has a Kawasaki Ninja 900 in the first movie - it appeared in one of the first scenes in the new movie

Seems like those "Admirals" hated his ability so much( jealousy) they almost wanted him dead. Once Maverick got shot dont that one admiral(John Hamm) almost clapped, like oh well Mavs gone, next mission/ party.
No. He never clapped, you could see he felt just as bad as the rest that Maverick was gone. John Hamm even made his voice crack for the scene, while maverick might annoy him Cyclone like him wants everybody to come home safe. He just knows that he has to put logic first to get the other 5 pilots home safe over losing all 6 if they were to go back for Maverick. When your the boss you have to make calls you don’t like and you can see the pain in cyclones face as he makes that decision for them to continue heading back to the ship. And the relief and disbelief in his voice when he says Maverick after the f-14 is super sonic, because he knows there’s only one man good enough out there to fly that baby home with Rooster on it.
