So this is actually pretty funny and interesting sometimes pilots can lose their situational awareness this actually happened in desert storm an EF-111 Raven was being chased by an Iraqi Mirage F1 and when an F15C found out and locked up the Mirage the Iraqi pilot lost his situational awareness and crashed into a mountain so the point of that was the pilot in the movie was so focused on shooting down Maverick he must have not heard the warning also Hangman was pretty close because the only missiles they had on them were AIM-9s it looked like

In the Tomcat you have to manually arm the ejection seats its part of the startup procedure, Rooster not being certified on the Tomcat wouldn't have known that and I'm assuming Mav figured it would be a clean shot to the boat or didn't think about it after years of not flying one. Either way both ejection seats were in the "safe" position.
A thought just popped in my head... Why didn't they just do a loop de loop and go back the way they came from after blowing up the target? It'll avoid all those SAMs
Love both movies. HOWEVER!!!!! Why does the REO have to turn around and look over his shoulder and the ejection seat mechanism instead of having one or several cameras facing aft? That seems like a primitive, stupid, dumbass way of doing things in a high end fighter. Seriously??? Is that the way it is done?
All the missiles targeting our heroes in this scene and the countermeasure flares remind me of the people of Israel who are targeted by T3rr0r15t missiles nearly every day. 😥 1ron D0me gets most of the missiles ... but not all of them. 🙏🏼 May they have the peace of Yahweh. Father Son & Holy Spirit

If any pilot ejects = both pilots eject... So Mav should've ejected both.
