Funeral Flight To Georgia

- Jaime and I depart Chicago Aurora Airport (ARR) VFR and pick up our IFR flight plan in the air from Chicago Approach and head down to Rome, Georgia (RMG) for my Grandmothers funeral. My Grandmother was able to live more than 90 good years and will be missed. RIP Grandma...Love you.

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your grandma
It feels strange when your last grand parent leaves. When you're young they're just solid fixtures in your life and you can't imagine what life is without them. Then the first one goes, then the next and you know it's not going to stop...just enjoy them while you can, keep them alive in memories and talk about them often at holidays. We always show the home movies on reel to reel on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It also lets your kids keep them in mind.

It always hurts to lose someone. It sounds like she had a great life on earth.
So sorry Kevin ang Jamie. My Grandfather passed 2 years ago at 101 years old. He too lived through the depression and had stories to tell. During WWll he was a B17 gunner instructor in Las Vegas. He did not see combat but he taught a lot of young soldiers. He took me flying with his PPL in his C170 when I was around 3 years old (1970). I got my PPL in 2002 and was so grateful that I got to take him flying and let him manipulate the controls. What a full circle moment. Be well. Thanks for the Vlog.

I’m sorry for your loss. Hearing your story of your grandparents reminds me of mine. My grandfather fought in the battle of the bulge as well. I lost him in 2000 at the age of 17. God bless and thanks for all the amazing videos!

my younger son went to Darlington school in Rome as a senior for a year as a foreign student from Europe quite a while ago.
It is truly a beautiful town with really great people.
