- Jaime and I finally had a chance to plan a fun West Coast Trip. Unfortunately the west was burning with bad fires and we weren't able to attempt our original plan of Grand Canyon, Sequoia National Park, California Coast, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore.
Some fog rolled in and we departed IFR (Instrument Flight Plan) from Chicago Aurora Airport on our way to the first planned fuel stop of Dalhart, Texas on our amended planned trip. When we depart our plan is Grand Canyon, LA to rent a car, drive the coast to Napa and then airline back to LA to fly home through Sedona, Arizona.
Follow along to see how it ends up. General Aviation requires loose plans at times. :)

Always good to see you two. I don't know how many more adventures you have in the can. I sure do want to see all of them. There is a charisma / charm about you two that is hard to describe. Knowing you guys are out there healthy and happy is all that matters. Enjoy life and each other. Thanks for the content.
#FACTS
It's always fun when you two fly together. Thanks for the episode.
Kevin and Jaime thanks for sharing this video, hope everything is good with you both and family
Never tire of the sound of an early morning engine start up!
Really miss your videos, hope you all are well and happy.
Happy Friday! An unexpected pleasure to see both of you.
Love to see you guys again. This makes my day.
So good to see you two in the cockpit again. Keep them coming!
Always amazed at those that have a built in recorder in their brains, read back instructions with many parts!
So love these guys. Followed them from the very beginning. Understand and respect everyone’s right to privacy regarding the events regarding the sale of the aircraft. Having said all that it’s becoming almost too frustrating and sad to follow anymore. Respect and loyalty does have an expiration date if not reciprocated to all their loyal fans. So many people still finding out these are old videos and asking and no response. Makes me sad to say it, but I’m sure many feel the same. Regardless, all good wishes to K and J…,,
thats what I thought!!
They don’t ever reply to viewers commenting on their videos. Pretty sad. Loyal viewers who have supported them ($$$) over the years and they get no replies. No updates.
I totally agree, unfortunately I'm beginning to wonder if they are no longer together or some illness has happened. I saw a post that stated they had sold BC late last year. I am somewhat disappointed that they have not communicated with their followers 😔😔
Not even a farewell and a bit of an explanation about whether it's all fallen apart or maybe they're planning something new.
Hi Tony!!
Kevin and Jamie, thank you for sharing.
Great to see you two together in 1BC again 😁 Looking forward to following you guys on your west coast adventure.
We drove the rr 89/90 to Yellowstone then Glacier to Olympic in Washington State down the coast to Crater Lake then Yosemite. We did hit fire areas but it wasn’t until Sequoia/Kings did we get canceled. So we changed some of our itinerary and drove from Yosemite to Boulder/ Hover dam…. Long days drive. I sure would like to have a pilots license and a 1BC of my own, but for anyone doing the west coast tour, all I can say is do it while you can. You will never regret it and thank you to our 1BC Pilot & Navigator for all the views for the last couple of years. Stay safe & healthy.
Always great to see you both safe trip and all the best in the future.
Just found your spot on the web and I really enjoyed your flight! Looking forward to more! I'm a student pilot now and hope to get my full certification soon. I love watching people on youtube fly. Thanks really gets me going to get done with my license. I've been trying to get this since I was 22 and now I'm 72. I'm almost there.
Thanks for taking me along you two , it's always a great adventure !....
Call me crazy, but that is exactly the kind of flying I enjoy the most. So looking forward to the rest!
Thanks for the video, you guys. Miss seeing your travels. Sure do enjoy your channel!
Excited to see
That’s how my grandmother taught me to spell Mississippi. Thanks for bringing back the memory!
Nice to see both of you in the air. Hope the family and you are doing well. Take care - Be safe.
I used to travel to KC often for my work. It is such an awesome city. Especially at night!
Flew into to Downtown airport during my instrument training, 1st time in a Class B....
The bluffs on the other side of the river can make things challenging.

Yes sir!!
Beautiful view of the "Belt of Venus" and the shadow of the earth that morning as you look West!
Welcome to Missouri - glad to still see you guys.
Good to see ya for a while longer . . .
Almost flew right over us in Wichita!!!
Welcome back! West coast is the best coast. Hope you find it enjoyable. Safe travels.
I have not seen any of your videos lately, glad to watch, you guys make a great
couple, Jaime you look nice
Good to see Jaimie back enjoying herself!
I've watched most of your videos and really enjoy them. Your chemistry is awesome. I fly hot air balloons and my wife and I travel around the country to attend balloon events. When my wife was in her late 40's she would nap almost every day. With a suggestion from a friend she had a check up by a heart doctor. They found that she had 98% blockage in one of her main arteries. The first symptom was napping daily. After the insertion of two stints and regular check ups, she very rarely takes naps. Just to be safe I hope that Jaime sees her doctor to get checked. Keep up the great videos. Someone may have suggested this already but I don't usually read the comments.
If you guys ever come out to Portland/Vancouver, I'll take you out for a coffee. Thanks for posting these entertaining trips around the country
Oh my goodness, it's Jamie! What a great vaca west coast swing! Please take lost of videos. We live through your eyes! I am so looking forward to every episode! Welcome back Jamie, we miss you Be well you guys 👍🏻
Outstanding. Enjoy your trip. Good to be back in the air with 1B. 👍🇺🇸😎...
Very cool. My Grandfather flew his Beechcraft Staggerwing from NY to CA. Flying over the GC. His story was in Flying magazine. June 1959.
🤙
As far as summers go, last summer was a rough one for fires out here, I am sorry it worked out that way, Kevin and Jamie. It isn't starting out good this year either. Our place will be on the market within a month, after 40 years of worrying about fire I am ready for a change in scenery. I hope you and your family are well.
I think this is the funniest and most heart warming of all the videos you two have done.
Glad to see you and Jamie back. Looking forward to the West Coast Swing. Happy Landings!
The most spectacular visual departure.
Good to see you guys in the air over our beautiful country, keep the shiny side up & have a GREAT time
You guys are hitting most of the hot spots on your trip. Looks like fun to me..... Napa and Sedona are both gorgeous.
I have missed your adventures, but sure do enjoy seeing you travel. Too bad that the smoke has changed your plans. I only watch Pilot 310.
Your trip flights are always good for viewing. Hope you're skies are blue and winds are fair all summer!!
I can’t wait to see the footage from Sedona! I’m planning a trip out there in the fall to check out the Grand Canyon as well, if I don’t get to do my ATP-CTP class. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay about 10 days. Love the videos guys, especially the vacation trips; it gives me ideas on cool places to go
I always love to see your videos. You two make a nice couple. Jamie has such a neat personality and pretty face. Two ATC, sorta neat in itself. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking me along...
Wow did she blush, when he showed the mags. lol. You guys are awesome together.
Yeah!!! Jamie's back "yes, we missed you. And more than a Kenosha/area flight.
This was last year. They arent together anymore
Glad to see you guys back.
I always love your videos :)
I got the hints that IFR clearance can be repeated incompletely, and soon after for that cancel IFR. good catch. Thanks
We always stop by DHT on the way to PHX for lunch. Great fuel stop. Just taxi up to the fuel pump and the restaurant is right inside.
Y’all are blessed to be able to do these things! All your hard work is paying off!
Or maybe they work hard and make good life decisions. Being “ blessed” is absolute BS.
@@rogerbee697 Keep up the optimism... Makes you seem so happy.
@@nathaneverest3043 Agree fully. Keep it positive dude.
@@nathaneverest3043 he’s right though. Christian or not, God fearing or not, God doesn’t DO anything. He allows stuff to happen by us simply being created maybe, but He didn’t do anything to bless these people. THEY put forth the effort, they suffered studying and applying themselves, they did that. Not God.
@@dcarts5616 that’s your opinion and that’s ok. I apologize for having my own and even implying anything.
Thanks for the ride... glad to see you two again.
Thanks for making my day. Wishing you all the best.
“There’s another Bravo Charlie on frequency”
“That’s unacceptable”
🤣🤣🤣
Just did this trip in April. Coming back from west coast through Dalhart, TX was crazy bumpy. Sedona was a must see. Spectacular.

Classic! Ohhhhh sh...... lol it wasn’t that bad we all have done it more than once even if we don’t want to admit it. You guys are solid, and I greatly appreciate your channel!
Good to see you back.
I love these trips!
Man, I’d not heard the Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter thing in probably 50 years. My Granddad used that on us when we were little kids. 🤣
Yep, being from Louisiana we heard that growing up too!!
Awesome video nice to see you back.

I flew my first ever actual IFR approach at KDHT. Right down to minimums. We have flown that similar route a few times. However, mine and my wife's pee tanks can't go farther than a few hours. Our route was KCID - KTOP. KTOP to KLBL. Then KTCC. Then we turned south at ONM to KDMN and over to Tucson. No high altitude flying required.
So good to see you flying to the California coast. If you can make it to Camarillo KCMA, park at the ramp of the Waypoint Cafe, grab some lunch or breakfast and a Cholate shake. The best in the west!
Hey Kevin and Jamie, I love watching you guys. You know Dalhart is real close to my hometown of Clayton, New Mexico. Have a safe trip my friends
Miss you guys
Sedona is such a cool airport and town. I fly in the valley of Arizona and Sedona is so cool. I’m a former Chicagoan too but transferred to arizona
Excellent day 1 - you totally had me going on the magazines! I thought Jamie was going to pull out Newsweek, Time and Forbes 😆
Thank you, I enjoyed your flight keep finding new destination. :)
Great to have you back!
Sedona is fun to fly to, also Grand Canyon. Go to Page, too.
Always Happy Landings!
For Xmas My wife bought me a flying lesson cause she knows I love watching both of you. I cancelled the lesson cause I just dont think I would have a flight instructor like you. Didnt want to be disappointed.
Do it! It is so fun to learn to fly. I'm so glad I did. I actually had more fun learning than just going on a trip. lol Just do it, Chris!
I've watched your channel for a really long time!
I paused at 0:18 right after you said Dalhart, Tx for gas....that's where I'm from!
Great to see you posting some videos...
Love these videos!🎉
Great video! Enjoy your trip
Hope you both enjoyed Arizona!!! I'm in Phoenix and it would've been great to have met you both. Safe travels and keep up the great videos
Hi Kevo, missed your and Jamie's videos, so started watching from the very first episode again, always love your content. Looking forward to more.
Great video! Enjoy the trip
Great to see you back..enjoyed the video..gives one a good idea of some of what to expect on long trips in a GA airplane. The landing looked like it was going to be exciting..lol Always enjoy watching the two of you. You're a great couple!
Great watching your videos. Super impressed with your proficiency!! After serving during Vietnam and witnessing how the aircraft and pilots became one with each other, I knew I wanted to do that. So when I got out of the service I went and got my Private Pilots License and Instrument rating hoping to progress into a career in flying. Unfortunately, I ended up working and starting my own business which took all my time so flying took a back seat. I'm older now and I've missed it all those years and now I'm thinking of getting back into it, just trying to figure out how to do it and how to afford it!! Anyway, have a great Memorial Day and I look forward to more of your videos.
Glad to see you again! love your travel plans and videos.
Gary... out of KENW.
You guys are finally in my neighborhood I've been to every spot your going to my brother lives in Tahoe it's beautiful I live in palm springs area when Jamie is saying Yellowstone does she mean Yosemite ?? I’m thankful for this video! I’ll check webpage for updates.
Sounds like a great trip. Have fun, you two, and stay safe!
I miss seeing you two and the more frequent videos.
Ive been to most of the places you listed on your first trip plans and your altered plans while in the Air Force and in my 35 year job for training and TDY training for the Air Force. Actually broke down in Billings MT while TDY to Malmstrom AFB...Did do a RV trip 2 years ago out to San Fran and all the other southern states winding up and trapped in Fl because of the virus before heading back to the foothills of the Adirondacks where I now live in the woods and have since sold that RV...cheers!
Glad to see you both together again >
